A week went by. Kol and I had spent a few days together, but now he was trying to help Elijah with his witches. The week has been dreadful, absolutely awful. Confused? So am I. But here I am laid up in bed, sick. My lips chapped and cracked. My naturally chocolatey skin paler than it had ever been. Sweat glistening on my skin. My head was pounding. Like a never ending migraine. The lights all off to prevent it from hurting my head more.

Kol and Elijah were speaking with a variety of witches. Finn and Nik on the other hand... A whine sounding from next me. Nik snuggling closer to me as my body was shivering. Yeah, Nik was in his wolf form right now- trying to keep me warm even if I was sweating. He tried to help me as himself, but the fur was so much more heat.

Finn was currently in the kitchen. He had read somewhere that when you're sick that broth is the best thing for you. So he's been slaving away in the kitchen making some kind of soup he found the recipe for. He also kept bringing me bottles of water and orange juice. Another thing he had read.

A wheeze crackled in my lungs before I sat up, coughing roughly. My throat burning at the scratchy pain. I felt Nik's human hand on my back as I continued to cough. I was too sick to even joke about his nakedness next to me from transforming.

"Maybe we should take you to a hospital.." Nik mumbled, clearly worried about my wellbeing. Kol had tried to feed me his blood earlier, trying to heal me of the illness I had. But I had only ended up throwing it back up a few minutes after. The door creaked open slowly to reveal Finn.

"If our blood doesn't help her- what makes you think humans could?" Finn questioned as he walked over to the side of the bed with a tray.

"But our blood doesn't heal everything- cancer is not in our power." Nik said in a low voice, but I still flinched slightly. Finn glared at Nik in the dark as he laid the tray on my lap. My coughing settling in my lungs. Heavy. Like a bunch of razors had taken residence in my lungs. Every breath that expanded my lungs, felt like the razors were rubbing against the sac of air. Finn sat on the edge of the bed next to me. Reaching down to take the spoon from the bowl.

"It's only chicken soup." Finn told me carefully in a hush voice. He spooned some to my mouth which I opened for him. I didn't want it. But I couldn't say no to any of them. I told them it was probably only the flu. But they were crazy with worry. At first Nik claimed that Kol got me sick- then questioned if I could get pregnant. I was throwing up for a day and a half before the rest hit me. Nik sat up more, listening.

"Elijah and Kol are home." Nik informed. Finn shared a look with him, nodding before Nik got up, pulling some clothes on quickly before leaning over and pressing a kiss to my cheek. "I'll be back, love." He whispered into my ear softly. I nodded slowly. I wasn't speaking much at the moment with my sore throat. His hand stroked my cheek for a second before he stood up and left the room.

"Eat, princess." Finn nudged the spoon to my mouth. I opened my mouth accepting the spoonful of soup. It was actually rather good. But my body was completely against it apparently. After three more bites, I pushed the tray away from me and tried to get up to run to the bathroom. Finn helping me up and leading me to the bathroom before I dropped to my knees and the little bit of soup I had came out of me.

Finn rubbed my back as he tried to soothe me. Once my stomach had been emptied again, I leaned on my arm with my eyes closed. Trying to get rid of the nausea. Finn sat down behind me, pulling me from the toilet and into his chest. His hand rubbing my back as I laid against him. Some how I fell asleep against his chest. The sound of his heart thudding against his chest acting like a lullaby.

But my nap didn't last long as footsteps entered the bedroom and came to the bathroom. My eyes stayed shut as I listened to them talking.

"Why didn't you carry her to bed?" I heard Kol ask. I could nearly feel the glare coming from Finn. He was more protective over me right now than any of them. He hadn't left my side other than to get me food or something to drink.

"It's a light sleep. I don't wish to wake her." Finn told him in such a low tone, if I wasn't near him I would not have heard him. "Did you learn anything? Or did you guys leave for nothing?"

"The witches believe that the ancestors are trying to stop her from completing the bonds." Elijah told Finn. His voice was strained, like he was upset or holding back. I couldn't tell why though.

"They waited until she only had to bond with Nik to attack her?"

"They didn't think she would move so fast. Apparently, the witches thought they had time to come up with a plan." Elijah responded. I opened my eyes to look at him. His eyes were already trained on me. His jaw clenched tightly. Anger and want floating in his eyes. He was angry at the witches, but it seemed he also was slightly jealous of Finn for hogging me. That's what I could read from his expression.

"So they- they think I'm a whore." I muttered out in a raspy voice. Even I cringed at how bad it had sounded. Finn's arms tightened around me before Elijah came to kneel in front of me.

"You are not a whore." He told me sternly. "It's natural for the bond to pull us together. Others usually move faster than us." He informed me. I let out a shaky laugh as I tried to sit up. My back was beginning to hurt from being hunched over on the floor. Although, Finn was extremely comfortable. I missed the bed. Finn released me as Elijah reached his hand out to help me up.

Elijah lifted me up when I had stood up, carrying me to the bed where Nik had already been waiting for me. His wolf form waiting to snuggle into my side as Elijah laid me down.

"So..what's the plan then?" I asked slowly. Nik pushing himself against me protectively. My hand went to his fur, holding it before stroking it softly. The warmth coming off of home caused the sweat to return, but it was nice.

"My witches are working on a way to protect you until you decide to complete the bond with Nik and finish the ones with us." Elijah said, stroking my cheek with his thumb gently. The sweat on my skin not bothering him one bit.

"Not that we are pushing you." Kol added as he stood in front of the bed. His eyes examining me. "If the witches do this right, it can protect you for a year if not more."

"So I have at least a year?" I asked, Nik whined next to me at the word year. Probably thinking I'd make him wait a year. Of course I wouldn't though. "What good is stopping the bond?" I asked after scratching behind Nik's ears to calm his whining.

"The bond being complete will be what makes us stronger." Kol chirped. A grin on his face. He was looking forward to being stronger I guess. "Finn and I will be able to tap into our magic once its completed." Finn snorted, a smile on his face at the thought of being somewhat back to his prior self.

"Of course, completing the bond will give us all one weakness though." Elijah said, his eyebrow raised. I looked at him, sighing.

"Me?" He nodded slowly.

"Before you, a white oak stake was the only thing that could kill us. But when we complete the bond to the very final step- your death will lead us to ours." Elijah announced all prophecy like.

"But then why don't they just allow it to complete?" I asked, clearly not understanding the whole plan that the witches had. It seemed easy enough. I complete the bond, they kill me. Done.

"Did you not hear the part where we become stronger, darlin'?" Kol asked as he stepped over to stand by my side. Elijah rolling his eyes at his kid brother. "With Finn and I having magic.. you'd be untouchable."
