Finley's P.O.V

I was sitting on the roof when my phone rang. Glancing at it, I noticed that it was Ashton. Heaving a sigh, I answered it. I couldn't avoid her forever.

"Finley Elizabeth Collins, I swear to God, I am going to kill you so help me," she began, already ranting.

I sighed. "I don't really need your lecture, Ashton."

She cut herself off in the middle of her sentence. "Are you sure you're okay? Because even though you keep texting me that you are, you sound really depressed right now and I'm not down with that because my friends need to be happy around me otherwise shit goes down."

"I'm fine," I said, ignoring the pang in my heart because saying that made me think of Eli telling me that when people say they're fine they usually mean something else. Thinking of Eli hurt inside.

"No you are definitely not," Ashton said firmly. "Because I can hear the wind, and I know that means you're on the roof, which means you're sad."

A small smile tugged at my lips. "You know me so well."

"That I do," Ashton said. "And therefore, I am coming over with Calla and we are going to cheer you up with our lesbian greatness and make you laugh so hard your stomach will hurt for days."

"Wait Ashto-" I started but I couldn't finish; she hung up the phone.

I sighed before making my way down to my window before swinging myself in and shutting it. It was nearing April; it was almost time for Spring Break and it was getting warm out.

Within twenty minutes, the doorbell rang and Ashton and Calla barged in. I was in the living room and heard them. They sounded like stampeding elephants.

"Hello Collins house!" Ashton shouted. "We have arrived!"

In his armchair next to me, my dad woke up and blinked. "Are people over?" he asked sleepily.

"Yeah," I answered.

"Are they sleeping over?"

"Most probably," I answered.

"No squealing after midnight," he said before getting up and heading upstairs.

Ashton and Calla walked in. Calla tackled me in a hug. She looked good today; she was wearing a snapback and a T-shirt that she had cut up.

"I missed you!" she exclaimed. "You haven't talked to us since like Thursday, and it's Saturday! What have you been doing?!"

"Moping about Eli," I laughed but it had no humor in it.

"Well, we brought the remedies to that!" Ashton announced, pulling a stack of movies from her bag. "We have brought movies!"

I eyed the bag warily. "What kind? Chick flick? Please tell me it's not chick flick."

"We brought some,"Ashton said. "Because every hard time deserves at least one chick flick. But we brought action movies!"

"Like what?" I asked. Action movies were more my speed.

"We brought Fast and Furious, and we brought a shitload of Marvel movies," Ashton said.

"I volunteered the Marvel," Calla interjected. "They helped me with my breakup, to stare at hot men saving people."

Ashton elbowed her. "But you're lesbian!"

Calla shrugged. "A hot guy is a hot guy, to any team."

Ashton pouted. "But you're mine!"

"No I am not!" Calla exclaimed, waving her hands in the air. "Stop claiming me!"

"Whatever," Ashton rolled her eyes.

"Anyway," I said hastily, stopping them before they could start fighting. "What movie do you want to watch first?"

Calla shrugged. "It's your heartbreak, watch whatever you want."

"Captain America," I said. "Let's watch Chris Evans go from a midget to buff God."

My phone rang and I glanced at it. The caller ID said Eli so I hit ignore and turned my phone to silent.

"Who was that?" Ashton asked.

"Eli," I answered, staring at my phone in disgust.

"Yeah, you leave that off," Calla said.

I popped in the movie and we settled back, burying ourselves in blankets. By the end of the movie, we all were bawling because Cap had to take a nosedive into the ocean and he never got that dance with Peggy. I wiped my tears on my sleeve.

"I hate that movie," I cried.

"I know," Ashton whined, flopping over and hugging a pillow to her chest.

Calla nodded in understanding and I chuckled internally because we were such fangirls and we knew that we didn't really hate that movie at all.

"What's next?" Calla asked, wiping at her face.

"Food?" I suggested.

Ashton's face wrinkled up momentarily, but it was for such a brief moment that I barely caught it. "Yay, food!" she said quickly. "Whatcha got?"

"I can make popcorn," I said hesitantly. "For the next movie."

"That sounds great!" she said, so overexcited that now Calla noticed. "Let's do it!"

"Ashton, are you okay?" Calla asked slowly.

"I'm fine!" she almost shouted. "Why wouldn't I be?"

"You're shaking," Calla pointed out quietly, which was something I hadn't noticed as I was on the other side of the room, but now that she mentioned it, she was.

"Am I?" Ashton asked, still talking louder than normal.

Calla got down on her knees to where Ashton was. "Ash, do you want popcorn?"

"Yes!" Ashton said, now looking quite defensive. "Can I get some?"

Calla nodded at me and I got up and went to the kitchen. Quickly popping a bag in the microwave, I got out bowls and salt before I made two more bags. The bowls, which were more like candy buckets from Halloween, but they worked nonetheless.

I brought them in and I saw The Winter Soldier on the screen and I handed out the bowls. Ashton accepted it silently and Calla shot her a worried glance.

About halfway into the movie, Ashton excused herself and got up. Calla and I both looked at Ashton then at each other.

"She's not okay," Calla said.

"I know," I answered.

"She's going back to not eating," she said.

"I know."

"She's freaking out in that bathroom right now," Calla said.

"I know."

"I'm going to go check on her," Calla said, standing up and putting her bowl of popcorn to the side.

I paused the movie and followed her.

"Ashton!" I heard Calla exclaim.

I ran to the bathroom and found Calla holding Ashton and Ashton was crying. My heart went out to her because I could smell the vomit.

"Shh, babe," Calla whispered. "Shh, Ash, you're okay. You're okay, beautiful."

"I'm... so....fat!" Ashton got out, flailing her arms.

"No you're not babe, I got you, you're perfect, you're completely perfect," Calla whispered and started rocking back and forth gently.

"No I'm not," Ashton cried. "I'm fat! I'm not good enough for you! I'm trying to be skinny enough for you!"

"I'm telling you," Calla's voice was calm and gentle. She was better suited for this than I was. I would have been freaking out.

And I'm glad that Ashton found Calla, because Calla could do

so much more for Ashton than I ever could.

"That you're more than good enough," Calla whispered. "You're too good for me."

Ashton sniffed. "No."

"Yes," Calla said forcefully.

"Then why won't you go out with me?" Ashton sniveled, wiping her face.

"You never asked," Calla said and I noticed she was starting to cry too. I felt like I was intruding.

"But you always say we're not dating," Ashton protested.

"Don't you see?" Calla whispered. "I care about you a lot. I'm always hanging out with you. I want to be your girlfriend. You're the most incredible person I've ever met. But you've never asked me if I want to be your girlfriend. But I do, God, I do."

Just then, the doorbell rang, snapping them out of their daze. Both of them lookied at me accusingly amd I said hastily, "I'll go get that."

I went to the door and opened it without looking. It took me about one and a half seconds to realize that it was Eli.

I slammed the door in his face.
