I was sitting near a river reading a spell book until I heard someone say,"Hello (y/n) may I ask what you are doing?"I looked up and saw Atem next to me smiling."Just reading an old spell book I found,"I said smiling back.Me and Atem have been good friends since I started my magician training with Mahad.I even became friends with Mana.

"Since when do you read at all?"He asked raising an eyebrow at me."Since Mahad said I had to take my lessons more seriously,"I pouted.He just chuckled and sat down next to me causing me to blush a bit.I've had a crush on Atem for a while,but I know he'd never like me back."Has Mahad been more strict lately?"He asked.I nodded and looked back down at my book when a question crossed my mind."Aren't you supposed to be back at the palace doing who knows what?"I asked never taking my eyes off the book.

There was a long pause until he answered."I have a bit of time to myself so I thought I'd see what you're up to,"he said.I put my book down and closed it."If you want we could take a short walk before you have to go back,"I suggested."Sure,"he said as we both stood up.

Atem's POV
We started talking as we walked around a bit."So then when Mana cast the spell,she messed up and I ended up suspended in midair for a whole half hour until it wore off,"(y/n) and I laughed as she explained what had happened earlier that day.I looked over to (y/n) and saw her smiling.I've always liked (y/n) she's really beautiful and kindhearted.She always cared for everyone around her wether she knew them or not.

"Well I should get going.Mahad said we have another lesson to finish today,"she said turning around."So I guess I'll hopefully see you later bye Atem,"she said running off.

I started walking back to the palace with a lot of thoughts running through my mind. Most of them were about (y/n) and if I should tell her how I feel about her.As I thought I didn't notice that I had arrived at the palace until I looked up.' I'll tell her tomorrow or the next time I get to see her.

I haven't been able to talk to Atem for a week.I guess he's just really busy and I get that because Mahad has been giving me and Mana a lot of things to do as of late.I was walking around until I saw a certain place."I remember this place. It's where I met Atem for the very first time,"I said to myself.

✨Flashback✨
I was 9 years old at the time and I had gotten lost since I was from another village. "Great just great I'm lost,"I said to myself.I felt someone tap my shoulder and I turned around.I saw a boy about my age behind me."Are you lost?" He asked me.I nodded my head yes.I told him that I was with Mahad but I had gotten separated from him along the way.

"Oh in that case I can help you,"he said."You can?Thank you,"I said as he led me to where I would find Mahad."I'm Atem by the way,"he said looking at me."I'm (y/n),nice to meet you Atem,"I said smiling.We've been best friends ever since.

I sat down and started to read a spell book Mahad had given me earlier that day."Hello (y/n),it been a week since we've talked,"I heard someone say.I looked to find Atem in front of me."Hi Atem,and yes it has been a week,"I said closing my spell book.

"(y/n) there's something I have to tell you,"he said looking at me."What is it?"I asked. Then he said the one thing I thought he'd never say to me."I-I love you a lot.Your beautiful,considerate,but most of all your kindhearted,"he said with a taint of pink on his face.

I felt heat rise to my cheeks and gave him a heart warming smile."I love you to Atem,"I said."Really?" "Really," I said.He hugged me and placed his lips on mine. I didn't hesitate to kiss back.

We pulled back with our foreheads touching."I love you Atem,"I said.He smiled at me and said,"I love you to (y/n)."
