"Alright so, Meagan called and that automatically exempts her from being the driver of he car that hit him."

"Why is that?"

"Because the moment that call went through, those cameras went out meaning that's when they got it."

"There has to be at least three people in that car, if they're smart. The caller, Meagan, the Wiz who was able to cut those cameras, and the main hitter. When I say this was premeditated, I mean this shit was pre-fucking meditated." I sighed.

It was like I couldn't even protect my family because people had a vendetta over shit I was already done and over with.

"This shit is just like a web of bullshit." He said.

"Damn right. We still don't know who was on the other end of that phone."

"Yes the hell we do." He stood up. "Meagan was talking to Leon Good. Her father."

"What the hell was he doing at a hospital?"

"That's what creeps me out about this whole thing. Her father 'just' graduated nursing school and then he 'just' got transferred into the hospital. People don't get transferred that quickly. Especially straight out of school. Something extremely shady went down about that whole exchange."

"Nigga this is bigger than I thought it was. We need some backup this time."

He pointed at me and I knew exactly what it was. I knew exactly who I needed to call. I walked out of the room and put Tiny, DeQuan, and Bishop on one call.

"Yooo Bey!" DeQuan yelled. "Wassup?"

"It's something going down in LA and I had my woman and my babies moved out to a different location for protection. We need y'all for backup here."

"We who? What happened?" Tiny asked.

"Me and Joseph. Taylor and his babies got clapped the other night and Kennedy was the only one that got hit. She's in a coma."

"Definitely planned out." Bishop said. "Nobody hits up a car full of people, I assume and only gets one person without a reason. What the fuck did Taylor do?"

"Get out the game. Niggas was tryna do good and get out, make less noise in the city and niggas get clapped? It doesn't make sense."

"It does make sense actually. What y'all thinking though?"

"Come to Joseph's house tonight. Today, I have to go watch these doctors stab my baby."

"Oh you gotta tell me all about the new baby, she's adorable by the way."

"Thank you." I hung up the phone and sat on the couch. I didn't wanna wreck my brain over something that I knew I would figure out soon. I knew it wouldn't be easy but I was gonna protect my ladies or die trying.

"It's gonna hurt her." I held Luxe by the back of her head and she smiled up at me. "It's okay baby girl."

"She's not even crying, you are." Nika said, pulling Luxe's shirt down. "That's a big girl, she alright."

"She's not. They gon' shoot my baby, how many times Doc?"

"Only four."

"ONLY FOUR?! That's a lot. All in her legs?"

"Yup. Usually the babies are okay. Everything will be fine." The doctor laughed.

I laid Luxe down on the operation table and laid my head beside hers, kissing her cheek. When she came back with four needles, Luxe started crying and flailing her arms around.

"See?! She knows what's going on. It's okay Princess." I held her Luxe tightly, shielding her from the doctor. I didn't want anyone to touch my baby. She's gonna keep crying.

"Beyoncé you gotta move, she's gonna be fine. She won't cry for long." Nika rubbed my back. "You acting like you getting shots."

I looked back at her then at the doctor. "Go ahead, I got her."

As soon as she put the needle in my baby's leg, I tensed up and she cried. That kept happening and when it was done, Luxe and I were just crying together.

"It's okay Princess, don't cry anymore."

"Beyonce why are you crying?" Nika asked. I looked at her and she was just recording me. I shook my head but continued to cry with my baby. I hated it when my baby cried, especially since she's in pain.

I picked her up and patted her back while she cried on my shoulder. She was all red when she got done crying and had her bottom lip poked out.

Nika stood up on her toes and wiped my tears away. "Big ass baby."

"Shut up."

When we left the doctor's office, I was still holding her. Nika had went to get Cavalli from the playroom they had in the doctor's and we were on the way back to the house.

"You can't be holding her like that, especially while you in the car." Nika said. I shrugged my shoulders.

"Why is Luxy crying?" Cavalli asked. She called her Luxy and I don't know why but it was adorable.

"She got her shots. You're gonna get your soon." Nika looked back at her. "Momma sat in there and cried too."

"Momma you didn't cry!" Cavalli sat up and Nika looked back at her with this look. She sat back slowly.

To be completely honest, I'm glad Cavalli got a whooping. It made her respect Nika more than she did and I don't think she wants another one so she won't disrespect her again. She doesn't need another.

"I did cry." I told her the truth. I was gonna cry when she got her shots as well. I hated seeing my babies in pain. It was my least favorite hobby.

When we got home, Luxe had fallen asleep on my shoulder with tear stains on her face. I laid her in her crib and Cavalli sat down by it, reading to her. She liked to read to her little sister because I liked to read to Luxe when she was in the womb. She loved to follow in my footsteps.

"What you doing in here?" I asked Nika, knocking our door. I walked in anyway and she smiled at me, putting her phone away.

"Waiting on you until you have to leave me again." She poked out her bottom lip.

"You look like your damn kids and I don't leave y'all for a long while."

"A long while my ass. As soon as it gets dark, you're out in those streets again."

"Why do we keep having this conversation? It's protection and safety baby, I need you to trust me with this." I laid on top of her.

She wrapped her arms around me. "I do trust you but I don't want you to kill yourself. Please don't let that happen. Be careful."

"I'm careful. I'll be careful." I kissed her.

The fact is, being careful was exactly what I had been doing so it's something I can't do anymore. I can't keep looking over my shoulder and being paranoid. Everything that was going on was the result of me being 'careful'.

"How long is this going to happen Bey? You never answered that question when I asked you that."

"I don't know how long this will be going on but I don't want you crying when I'm not here, I genuinely hate when you do that."

"How am I supposed to not cry?"

"Go to sleep?"

She rolled her eyes. "Is Luxe asleep?"

"Yes. You been connecting with her or y'all still acting like y'all don't know each other?" I smirked against her neck, rubbing up and down her side.

"You need to get off of me."

"No I don't. Answer the question."

"We good Bey. Get off my neck."

"Why you want me off so bad?" I looked at her and continued to kiss her neck.

"Mooove, you asshole. You know why."

"We can fix that."

"No we can't! We can't fix that until next month." She was on the verge of tears. I chuckled and sat up, bringing her with me. We were face-to-face and she had a pout on her lips. "You teasing me isn't gonna get us anymore."

"You right."

"What did you figure out? Y'all getting any closer to the truth?"

"Eh. The cameras at the traffic lights were shut down the moment the shots rang off. They couldn't have been too smart, we have the audio. Three people in the car, one was Meagan and the person at the hospital was her father."

"So this was elaborately planned out?"

"Yeah."

"I think you need me on this as well, you look stuck and if you remember correctly, I was the one that got you out of most of the mess you got US into before."

"I know but you're the mother of my children now, putting you in danger is not an option. You need to stay here with my girls and keep them safe, yourself as well. Do you understand me?"

"Yeah but obviously you can't do this by yourself."

"And I'm not. I got Bishop, DeQuan, and Tiny on the situation as well.

"I kicked one of those niggas in the dick once."

"You did."

"Why are they helping you?"

"It's the loyalty thing. No matter what YOU did, their loyalty to me never wavers and vice versa. It's like a sorority of street niggas."
