"So tell me why exactly I have to drive you to this sketchy-sounding meet up?" Merric asked in a bored tone while keeping his eyes on the road in front of him.

"My parents are busy; or so they say they are. They probably just don't want to take me out," you responded. Truthfully you hadn't asked them, but you've had plenty of other experiences of trying to get them to drive you places to know how they would've responded. And because Merric knew what your parents were like, he easily bought your fib.

"Alright. But why are you actually going to this place? You said you're supposed to meet up with some guy you met online. Firstly, doesn't that sound way too sketchy? And secondly, I know you and I know that you would never do something like meet up with a random dude from the internet. I don't know how you expect me to believe this," Merric said.

"People can change Merric," you tried to reason. He only smirked at that and gave you a quick glance.

"And you're not one of them," he countered. You gave him an unamused look.

"Gee thanks," you replied sarcastically. "And anyways, I already told you that this guy and I were talking about vampires. He's got some interesting information and stuff, I can't let this opportunity pass by," you lied. Although Merric will most likely fall for it, because this is something you would probably do.

Merric just rolled his eyes at your reason. "Whatever. We're here. Do you want me to just drop you off up front?" he asked as he nodded with his head over to the 'meet up' place.

"Yeah, that'd be great."

Merric slid into a parking spot and watched as you quickly checked your bag for everything you needed. Little did he know that he may never see you again.

"You sure you don't want me to hang around? I can be like your bodyguard and protect you from creepy-internet-vampire dude," he offered. You chuckled slightly.

"I think I can manage by myself just fine Merric," you reassured him.

"Yeah, well, sorry to break it to you, but holy water and crosses don't work on humans (Y/n)," he teased. "And don't even try to lie and say that you don't carry that shit with you, because I know for a fact that you do," he added. You puffed out your cheeks slightly.

"You never know when you'll run into a dirt-blooded. I need to be prepared Merric," you said.

"You do know that even if they do come out it's only at night, right? And you, being the sheltered girl you are, are never out at that time," he shot back. You felt your eye twitch. Was this guy trying to fight you?

"I'm not sheltered. My parents just don't give me any freedom," you corrected. "Now, while I'd just love to stay here and argue, I do need to leave and meet up with the "creepy-internet-vampire dude" as you called him."

"Okay fine. Text me or something if any weird shit happens okay? And if you change your mind about taking a taxi home I can come get you," Merric said boringly, but, although he tried to conceal it, you could see the worry and concern in his eyes. You smiled reassuringly at him.

"Don't worry. You'll be the first person I contact. But I highly doubt anything will go wrong," you said while patting his hand lightly, trying to comfort him. He leaned over to you and pulled you into a quick hug.

"Be safe (Y/n)."

When he pulled away, you gave a little salute and then exited the car. You stood at the side and watched as Merric drove away, most likely trying to prevent himself from turning around and taking you back home. Once he was far out of sight, you looked to the building across the street from where you stood outside your fake meeting place. When it was safe you crossed over to the other side and entered the building, feeling your heart rate quicken.

The building was one of many where you could apply to be a blood-offerer for pure-bloods. When you found the place's location and realized that there was a pub right across the street, you made up the lie about meeting an internet guy so that Merric would drive you here. If he knew what you were actually doing, there would be no way that he would've taken you.

You walked up to a front desk to where a receptionist sat, seemingly bored with nothing to do. She greeted you with a half-hearted smile, and you definitely understood why. It seemed like there weren't any people coming in today besides yourself; she was probably tired and bored out of her mind.

"Hi can I help you?" she greeted.

"Yeah, I'm wondering if I can apply to be a blood-offerer?" you asked her. She nodded and turned around to grab some paper work, handing the pile to you afterwards.

"You can take a seat at the desk area and fill these out," she instructed and gestured to a seating area in the corner of the room. You took the papers and made your way over.

The papers were all filled with general stuff that you had expected. Asking, obviously, about your blood type, if you had any illnesses, diseases, allergies, or any other problems with health. You had to list the name of the pure-blood you wanted to serve. There were also a bunch of consent forms to fill out with some basic information forms that needed your full name, address, birth information and so on. It took a good 5-10 minutes for you to finish all the sheets. When you were done you brought it back to the receptionist. She took the papers and looked over them quickly.

"So I'm gonna take your papers and send them to Mr. Park with yourself. You'll go for an interview before you find out if you'll be kept," she explained.

"Right away?" you wondered aloud.

"Yes. It seems you picked a good time to make this commitment. Mr. Park is actually looking for more offerers and requested that we send any applicants for an interview right away," she answered. You mentally kissed yourself for being so lucky.

"I'm just gonna let Fred, the driver, know that he needs to take you over. Please just wait here," she told you and got up to enter a back room. After waiting for a few minutes she was back with a male which you assumed was Fred.

"Fred will take you over now, unless you need to pick anything up beforehand," the receptionist said. You shook your head 'no'.

"Alright. Well good luck Miss (L/n)," she encouraged while waving. You gave a wave with a small 'thank you' and followed Fred out of the building to where his car was. You got into the back seat of the car and admired the inside. It was a fairly nice-looking car on the outside, but on the inside it had comfy, leather seats, fancy lights, and even a mini-fridge for drinks.

"The drive may take awhile, so I'm not sure if you want to take a nap or not while we are going there," Fred said as he started the car up.

"I see, thank you sir," you replied, thankful for the advice. While you would have tried to squeeze a good hour of sleep in, you were staring to feel nervous and doubted you'd be able to sleep. You were so close to getting to Park Jimin, now was not the time for rest.
