I Want To Write You A Song • One Direction

"I want to write you a song
One that's beautiful as you are sweet
With just a hint of pain

For the feeling that I get when you are gone
I want to write you a song"

One month later

"I'm in my jet now, I should be in Los Altos in a couple of hours. I miss you, Angel." Tonight was Amora's twenty-third birthday, and she was having a party at her house, it had been a couple of weeks since Amora and Mel were together.

Amora was smiling at Mel through her laptop, even though he visited her two weeks ago, she missed him so much. After leaving him in Santa Fe, her heart felt like it was torn out, she felt lost. She also had to get used to a life without her handsome boyfriend being around to cater to her every need.

Amora's smile couldn't leave her face, she was excited about her birthday, and she could formally introduce Mel to her parents as her boyfriend.

"I miss you more, Mel. I wish you were here right now, I can't wait to introduce you to my family as my boyfriend!" Mel was proud of Amora, she was so reluctant to introduce him leading up to her party, but she decided to just do it.

"If you change your mind about telling them, I won't be upset with you, angel. I want you to be sure that you want to do this, don't feel pressured." Mel knew that Amora was feeling unsure because of the negative attention they get when they're out together.

"Mel, I want to do this. I can't continue to live in fear of being judged, I love you and I want everyone to know." Amora was scared, she didn't want Mel to be shamed because he loves her, she was also afraid that he'd magically start caring for people, and find a woman closer to his age.

"I know you're not being completely honest with me, Amora. We'll talk about this in person. Don't think about tonight, just think about seeing me again." Mel planned on talking to Amora in-depth about her hesitations, he didn't mind them at all, but he knew that she was so used to them being together freely at his ranch.

Amora took a deep breath and gave a timid smile. "I'll try." She replied weakly and gave a thumbs up.

Mel shook his head at his beautiful lover. "Good girl, I'll see you in a couple of hours at the vineyard. I love you." Mel was worried for Amora, she wasn't the best at taking control of her emotions, so when problems like that occurred, Amora ended up being completely frazzled. Thankfully, he knew how to handle her.

"I love you too." Amora was ready to be back in Mel's arms, she loved him so much, and he always knew what to say when she was worried.

The FaceTime call disconnected, and Amora was left waiting for Mel to land in Los Altos. Her thoughts were running wild, so she decided to visit the spa.

Thirty minutes later, Amora was lying out relaxing on a massage chair. "Your body is very tense, Amora. Too much stress causes your body to grow weary." The massage therapist, Elise, told Amora.

"I'm just worried, tonight is my party, you're coming right?" Elise nodded. "Great, but I guess you'll be the first to know. My boyfriend, Mel is coming to my party tonight, and well, he's not the kind of man my parents would expect me to be with." Amora decided that it would make her feel better to tell Elise.

Elise stopped massaging for a moment to look at Amora. "Well, what kind of man is Mel? Is he a mafia boss?"

Amora laughed a bit. "No! He's a bit older than me, that's all." Elise raised a brow.

"I don't think your parents would mind, what is he, thirty?" Amora let out a nervous giggle.

"Nope, um do you know who Melchizedek Bailey is?" Elise was puzzled, what did he have to do with this.

"Yeah I know him, he was a pretty big deal back in my day. But, what does he have to do with any-oh my goodness! Don't tell me you're dating him!" When all Elise got back was silence, she had her answer.

"Amora! That's great! How did this all happen? He's got a reputation for not liking human beings, but of course, he likes you! You're so perfect." Amora was glad that she told Elise, it made her feel better about the party.

"We met at my family's New Year party, and I haven't told anyone except for family and Chanel, but I was filming a movie by Regina King, and it just so happened to be at Mel's house! We got to know each other, and then after a bit of a miscommunication, we got together." Amora's eyes were so bright, Elise was sure if she was a cartoon, she'd have heart eyes.

"I love him, Elise. He's so kind, and goodness, he always knows exactly what to say. Before I came here, I was completely frazzled, but he talked me down. He's got the perfect amount of everything, he's the greatest."

Elise let out a laugh, Amora was really in love. "I'm happy for you, he sounds nicer than what the reporters say. I can't wait to meet him!"

The ladies continued to talk about life, and before Amora knew it, it was time to meet Mel at the vineyard.

-

"Mr. Bailey, we've landed in Los Altos and your car is here. Enjoy your trip." The pilot gave a nod to Mel and left the jet.

Mel was ready to see Amora, he wanted to hold her, and kiss her. But more importantly, he wanted to make sure she was doing well.

Mel entered his G-Wagon and followed the GPS to the vineyard.

The ride to the vineyard was quite short, once Mel made it, he decided to wait in the front for Amora.

Not even a few minutes passed when Mel spotted his beautiful angel. Wanting to surprise her, he snuck up on her. "Hello, my love." He whispered from behind her.

Amora jumped at the voice and turned around with a vibrant smile. "Hey, Mel!" She said happily, and before she knew it, Mel was spinning her in his strong arms.

Leaning in for a kiss to his love, Mel was stopped. "Um, I hope you don't mind, but could we do that out of sight? I-I'm sorry." Amora's voice was a bit nervous, and Mel understood why.

Hugging her tightly, Mel nodded. "Of course, I understand." Mel guided Amora deeper into the vineyard where they couldn't be seen.

"I missed you so much!" Amora kissed him sweetly.

Mel broke their kiss and sat Amora on his lap. "I missed you too, angel." Placing a kiss on her forehead, Mel pulled something from his jacket pocket and placed it in Amora's hand.

Amora gasped and opened the neatly wrapped box. Her eyes widened at the content, a heart-shaped necklace with a humongous diamond in it. "Mel," Amora whispered breathlessly.

Taking it out of the box, Amora turned to heart around to see the back.

'To the only reason my heart beats. My heart is forever yours, M.B.'

Tears clouded Amora's vision as she held Mel tightly.

"Happy birthday, Princess." As Mel put the necklace on Amora, her tears soaked his jacket, but he didn't mind.

"I-I didn't even need a present from you, Mel. Just having you here with me was enough." Mel shook his head and kissed Amora gently.

Their lips fit together perfectly like they were meant to be.

'click!'

The sound of a camera going off went unnoticed as the couple kissed.

It'd been too long. Far too long for the totally enamored pair.

Mel missed seeing his angel daily and getting to hold her when he wished. Amora missed the comforts he brought and his cold yet entirely loving words.

Taking a look at his watch, Mel raised his brow. "It's ten minutes till five, you've got to get ready for your party."

Amora groaned, she didn't care for the party anymore, all she wanted was to spend more time with Mel. But of course, she couldn't bail on her party, her mother would kill her. Amora stood up and pouted at the ground.

"I love you," Mel said when he noticed Amora's pout, and in an instant, her cheeks were raised.

Amora hugged Mel and kissed his cheek. "I love you too, Melchizedek." It was Mel's turn to smile, Amora only used his full name randomly, and he loved hearing it from her.

Walking hand in hand, Mel walked Amora to her car. Opening her car door, he spoke. "Drive safely, angel. I'll see you at seven on the dot." Amora smiled softly at Mel, God she loved him.

"Same to you, Mr. Bailey." With a wink, Amora drove home with one hand on her necklace.

When she finally made it home, her nerves were going wild. She was nervous and excited about her party, but she controlled her facial expression so her mother couldn't tell.

Stepping into the house, Amora saw the event coordinator, the DJ, the caterer, and her mother. "Mother!" Amora yelled to her mother, knowing that she would be happy to see her.

Arianne turned away from her conversations and smiled at Amora, of course, she was annoyed that she was late, but she was finally here. "Honey!" Arianne yelled back as she walked to Amora. She noticed a beautiful diamond necklace around Amora's neck, but she chose not to comment.

"Why on earth are you late? Your party starts in less than two hours, and you're just showing up!" Amora smiled widely at her mother knowing she wouldn't be able to resist her charm.

"Mommy, it's my birthday. You should be nice to me. And I'm ready to get my hair and makeup done, so you should lead me there!" Arianne wanted to be angry with her late daughter, but she couldn't, Amora was just too cute.

Arianne didn't respond, instead, she led Amora to the hair and makeup room.

Opening the door, there stood twins with smiles. "Time to beautify you, Amora Jean!"

An hour passed and Amora was finally done getting her hair and makeup done. The twins didn't allow Amora to see herself, and they also insisted that they dress her, seeing as they didn't want her to see herself until they were officially done.

Amora stepped into the dress and smiled, it was profoundly beautiful. She knew that Mel would like it. The twins zipped her up, took the pins out of her hair, and placed the shoes on Amora's feet making her feel like a true princess.

"Alright," The makeup artist, Faye said with a warm smile. "You can look now!" The hairstylist, Fiana finished with the same smile. Faye slowly pulled the curtain away from the mirror.

"The dress goes so well with your necklace!"

Amora took a deep breath and looked in the mirror. "Wow." She loved it, and now all she wanted to do was go see Mel. So she did, but not before thanking the twins.

Amora had no idea what to expect when she walked down to the party, but she knew that it wouldn't be terrible.

But of course, unexpected things always happen.
