This story is not good, and I'm not just saying that because I'm the author and it's cringy to read your own writing. The relationship between Sarah and Tyler is abusive and problematic. I didn't realise it at the time of writing and looking back, I would have written this completely differently. The story also includes scenes of self-harm, drug and alcohol use, addiction, violence, and assault. This is currently my most popular book, despite also being my worst. I will likely remove this story when I have overcome my weird attachment to it, but I now see it as a symbol of what NOT to do. 

Please choose to read any of my other books instead. There are plenty to chose from and all of them are a thousand times better than this one, I promise! If you do choose to continue with American Sweethearts, please use it as a resource of what to AVOID in relationships. 

When I was 18, I was constantly in problematic relationships like this. I like the allure of 'bad boys' and the thrill I felt when I was with them. But none of that compares to the amount of trauma I went through afterwards. I am now 22 years old, and wish I had known better at the time and stayed the fuck away from toxic men!!!
