"Lena!" I laugh. "Stop it!"

"I want to know everything!"

"I already told you!"

"I want to hear it again!"

"Why don't you spend some time with your girlfriend, huh?"

"Yeah!" Steph calls. "Pay attention to me!"

"See!" I urge. "Leave me alone."

"Aww, is someone jealous?" Lena teases, turning back to her girlfriend. She's laying on the couch, cuddled beneath a blanket.

As promised, Lena and Steph were waiting up when we arrived home. Tyler went straight to his room so he didn't have to deal with them, and I don't blame him. They made me detail every little thing. He probably heard us giggling all night.

I kept most of the personal stuff to myself, but I still shared a lot. The good and the bad.

If Steph and Lena weren't there, I probably would've spent all night with Tyler. But it's good I didn't. We should take it slow. We're only dating. It's not official or anything.

"Come shop with us," Steph calls. "Urban Outfitters is having a sale."

"I can't," I pout. "I have to study."

"Screw that," Lena scoffs. "Shopping is way more important."

"I wish I could join you."

"If I see anything good, I'll save it for you, okay?"

"Don't bother," I snicker. "I can't afford to buy anything right now."

"Shit, really?"

I nod. "I need to start looking for a job."

"They're hiring at the grocery store," Steph tells me. "You should apply there."

"Yeah!" Lena calls. "You could be a cute little check out chick."

"Maybe," I laugh. "I'll look into it, but I really need to study now."

"Well, you're no fun," Steph complains. The two girls slump back into the couch, cuddling up beside each other. They're watching some Netflix film I haven't seen before. And I don't plan to. They keep commenting about how boring it is.

I return my attention back the books before me, reading a paragraph on photosynthesis. But it's so hard to concentrate when all I can think about is Tyler. I can't get over how great last night was. I want to see him again, so badly, but he's probably still asleep, or at the gym. I'm not going to knock on his door. I want things to go naturally.

AS if on cue, I hear a door open. I hope it's Tyler, but the person who enters the kitchen is Owen. He turns the corner with his hands in his pockets and his hair a mess.

"Morning," he smiles. "What are you girls up to?"

"Waiting for Sarah to tell us about her date!" Steph calls.

"I already told you everything!" I respond.

"We want to hear it again!"

"Yeah?" Owen asks. "How was it?"

"It was so cute!" Lena gushes.

"Shush!" Steph scolds. "Let Sarah respond."

I laugh at the two of them, but Owen just shakes his head in amusement. He pours himself a cup of coffee, and joins me at the breakfast bar.

"So, tell me," he says. "What's it like to date the mysterious Tyler Thompson?"

"He's not that mysterious, is he?" I laugh.

"I've never seen him date anyone before."

"You haven't?"

"Nope. He's always been a more... casual with his girls."

"What's that supposed to mean?"

We've never talked about past relationships before. In fact, there's a lot we still have to discuss. But my concern raises when I hear Owens next words.

"He likes flings... not relationships," he says.

"Oh," I nod. "Flings."

I purse my lips, dropping my gaze down to the floor. I've never seen Tyler with girls before. When I see him at parties, he's usually on his own, or with a group of guys. I've never seen him bring a girl home, but he could easily hide that. He doesn't come home all the time, either. I just assumed he'd be crashing with friends, or family. But he could also be with a girl.

"Don't worry about it," Owen says. He places his hand on my knee, giving me a reassuring smile.

"I'm not," I lie.

"It's nice to see him like this," he tells me. "You know... caring about someone other than himself."

"He cares about you, too," I correct. "He cares about a lot of people."

Actually, I don't think he cares that much about himself at all. If he did, he wouldn't get in all those fights and consume those harmful substances.

"You're right," Owen nods. "He does care. He just struggles to show it."

"Have you spoken to him lately?"

"Not really," he shrugs. "I've been busy."

"Are you okay?" I ask him, remembering his unusual attitude at the Barrel the other night.

"Yeah, I'm fine," he nods. "Why?"

"You just seem a little... off."

"I, uhm," he looks down. "Got my heart broken a little."

"What? Oh my god. That's horrible."

"It's alright," he shrugs. "I was seeing one of Christians friends."

"Oh."

"It was pretty casual, but I guess I had more feelings than I expected."

"Yeah. That sucks. I'm sorry."

"It's okay. It's not your fault. It's just... she's supporting Christian, and I guess we just have different opinions, you know?"

"yeah," I nod.

"We just weren't compatible."

"That really sucks, Owen."

"It's fine. I've still got you, right?" he smiles.

"Definitely," I grin.

"Lena told me you two got high," he smirks.

"Oh my god!" I drop my face into my hands, a wave of embarrassment washing over me. "I don't want to talk about it!"

"I'm so sad I missed it!"

"Don't be! It was horrible!"

"We had so much fun," Lena giggles. "Sarah was such a slut, she was all over Tyler!"

"Shut up!" I scold. "I don't need to be reminded!"

"You were, huh?" Owen teases. "I'm not even surprised."

"Stop!" I whine.

"I think we should get high right now."

"No!"

"Yes!" Steph claps. "Let's do it!"

"I'm in!" Lena grins.

"I'm not!" I insist.

"Aw, come on!" She pouts. "It'll be fun!"

"No way! I'm never doing that again!"

"You had fun, didn't you?" Owen asks.

"It wasn't worth it!"

"Liar!" Steph teases.

"Get stoned with us!" Lena begs.

"No! I need to study!"

"Come on! You'll love it!"

"No!" I shake my head. "You guys can do what you want, but I'm not getting involved."

"Fine!" Lena shoots me a fake glare. "But you're lame!"

"Alright," I nod. "I'll be lame if it means passing my classes."

"What a nerd!"

I laugh at them, shaking my head in disapproval. Owen hops off his chair.

"I'll grab the product," he says.

"yes!" Lena cheers. "Finally something useful to do today."

"useful?" I laugh. "If you want to do something useful, go grocery shopping, we're out of milk."

"Later," she shurgs me off. "I've got more important stuff to do."

"Like getting high?" I snicker. "I need to move out."

She gasps loudly. "Take that back!"

"Never!"

I gather my books off the kitchen counter. There's no way I can study if they're getting stoned in there. I'll be bound to fail.
