America sat at the meeting table with his head on his hand, tapping the end of a pen on it's hard surface. He stared lazily at the podium in front of the nation who was currently speaking, only breaking out of his daze to occasionally glance at his significant other across the table.

The German was taking notes, watching the speaking nation intently. Alfred admired his focus; he couldn't focus on someone who was essentially giving a lecture for more than five minutes, let alone four hours.

Suddenly, the nation went back to their seat and Germany stood, ending the meeting with the date and location of the next one. America stood along with him, gathering up his meager, but still existing, notes and fixing them together, shoving them carelessly in his backpack.

"Hey Luddy," he said cheerfully, walking up to the other near the head of the table. He waited until Ludwig finish with who he was talking to. Germany dismissed the other countries with a wave of his hand and a small nod before turning his attention to the American standing in front of him. "What do you say to a date? We don't ever get time to go out anymore so I figured that we could go right now since neither of us have anything that really has to get done by the end of the day or any other meetings or something."

Germany looked at America, a grin playing on his face. Of course the very touch-craving, attention-loving American would have thought to spend the rest of their day on a date. "Ja, alright. You are correct in saying that we don't ever get to spend time together."

Alfred smiled happily, leaning up to place a kiss on the other's cheek. Ludwig turned just slightly, catching Alfred's lips instead and surprising him. "If you're going to kiss me, you'd be better to do it properly," he teased when they broke apart.

"Then let me try again," Alfred teased back, leaning up again and kissing him, ghosting his hand down the other's side. Ludwig brought his hand up and ran it through Alfred's golden hair, fluffing it up a little.

"Oh my god you two! Get a room!" Canada shouted from the doorway, one of the last ones to leave.

"Plannin' on it!" America called back, making Germany laugh. Alfred turned back again, waving his brother out, and slung his arms around the other's neck lazily. "So, 's a date?"

The German looked down at the playful man now in his arms and thought, not for the first time, that he sure was pretty god damn lucky to have landed someone so great as the one he was with now. His hands found themselves resting on the other's waist, and he placed yet another kiss in Alfred's hair. "It is indeed."

"Then let's go!" Alfred quickly turned and grabbed his hand, pulling him along behind him.

They walked down the path, quietly watching the leaves flitter around in the wind. The colors were beautiful, vibrant reds, oranges, and yellows littered the brown of the earth under their feet.

"So, I've heard that the weather in your country right now is pretty sporadic," Ludwig commented, taking a sip of his coffee. Alfred rolled his eyes.

"You could say that." He looked down at the ground again, then up to the pale blue sky streaked with clouds. "You know, I love the sky," he commented, slowing their pace until they had stopped altogether.

Germany reached out, tugging on the other's sleeve. "Are you alright?" He asked, concern clouding his gaze.

Alfred smirked and leaned into him, brushing their lips together teasingly. " 'Course I am, sugar! Now come on, we gotta find like a park bench or something super cliche to be romantic on."

"Ah, I know just the place then!" Ludwig bent down, stealing another kiss before grabbing Alfred's hand and pulling him along, off of the path and through a small patch of trees before emerging yet again on the other side.

There, Alfred's gaze wandered wondrously over the scene. The small pond sparkled in the evening sun like a field of diamonds, framed by a soft, rolling sea of green, and white flower petals drifted lazily on the breeze.

"Woah..." He stared, transfixed, and the German ghosted up behind him, wrapping his arms around his waist and nudged the other's hair lovingly.

Alfred turned in the embrace, grabbing Ludwig's collar, pulling him down to make their lips meet hotly, only releasing his grip when new air was required yet again.

"God, do I love you."
