"We still have, like, two hours until our bosses are done with their conferencing or whatever, so what do you guys say we play cards?" Alfred smiled, brandishing a beat-up deck of Bicycle cards.

Germany looked up from his book. "Ya, I suppose that would pass the time rather well."

"Let's play poker!" Prussia shouted, making at least two countried jump.

"No." Russia obected immediately. "Whenever we play poker Alik cheats. I know it."

"Oh, fuck off. Just because I'm better than all of you doesn't mean that I cheat. And besides, you can't prove it!"

"So what will we play?" China interjected before their bickering turned into a fight.

Alfred smirked. "Let's play egyptian."

The other three, with the exception of Prussia, in the room looked at him in confusion. "What's that?"

"Only one of the most awesome card games ever!" Gilbert was already excited, and he moved so that he was sitting to the left of the American. Alfred motioned Ivan next to him, and Yao sat so that he was between Ivan and Ludwig.

He shuffled a few times, and, once they were all settled, he started dealing, hand moving so fast it was difficult to keep up with. Soon enough all the cards were dealt, and he his up.

"Rules. Don't look at your cards." Yao flipped his cards back over discreetly. "Take your rings or other hand jewelry off. Trust me, I learned this lesson the hard way." He looked pointedly at Gilbert, who grumbled and took a ring off. "Finally, just don't break the table. I don't feel like replacing it. Other than that, though, don't bother holding back."

Prussia then continued explaining the actual rules of the game to them, playing a few slow demonstration rounds before really getting into the game. The others picked it up fairly quickly, picking up the pace of the game, making it interesting.

Every time a double surfaced, the only two who ever got them were Alfred and Gilbert, much to the frustration of the others assembled. Because of this, there came a point when it was just between those two. Cards were flying at an impossible speed, and it was a wonder they could process what was on them before the next was laid.

The very last card Gilbert held in his hand was tossed, matching the one below it. A double. They both hit the table so hard the crack was audible. And they hit it at the same time.

"I beat you."

"No, I beat you."

"We'll just call it a draw, da?"

"NO."
