THERE WERE SOO many colors around us. My sneakers slapped onto another puddle in the mall as we walked into the fresh heat of the place.

I swear sometimes I feel like a chicken nugget getting defrosted. The snow outside was never going to be compatible with my body.

Hugging my coat closer I looked around the shops trying to navigate my next future outfit. I did not need clothes but I wanted them, so here I was.

Plus my mother had given me quite a lot of cash for my birthday so I saved half and am using the other right now.

The half was saved for the blackmailer really. My heart still sunk as I thought about them. It could be anyone here. I guess someone may just hate me enough to vow to kill me.

Aaron's shoulder brushed past mine as we went to the escalator. He was holding a cup of hot chocolate that we got from a near by vendor. I surprisingly had passed on the drink. I had enough  sugar to supply a lifetime.

"Do you know what you're getting?" Aaron asked as we stepped of the steel step and onto the marble floor.

"Not really. I'm just going to whiz around and see what piques my interest. You should get something too."

"Nah. I got way too many clothes from your mother for Christmas. Plus of course your sisters who for some reason through clothes at me quite often." I chuckled at that.

"Catherine is trying to get you to model her clothes." I told him walking towards a cute clothing boutique.

I ran my hands through racks of dresses and shirts trying to figure out one that matched me. "I only model for you at night. Quite vividly too." He murmured leaning against the wall.

I scoffed at him and confused searching through the place. There were soo many dresses but none that looked like they would be pretty on me.

"Hello. Can I help you?" I nearly jumped to see one of the shop employees smile at me. I stared at her name tag.

Martha.

She seemed pretty old to be working. Definitely in her fifties.

"Uh I'm still looking around." I smiled gesturing to place with my eyes. I always felt so pressured with people who worked at shops because they all bulldozed you with buying stuff from them.

"Have you checked our winter collection? We've got a new line this week with clothing I think that would look really good on you. You want to see, yeah?" Her stare was so piercing and O had no intention of going.

I licked my lips and put on an innocent face. "I actually wanted to look around and-"

"Yes. You can see here too. Come on." She turned around and walked deeper into the store.

I gave Aaron a helpless look to which he responded with a tucked smile.

I followed Martha into the store with Aaron closely behind me as we walked past people bustling together at the sales isles.

"Right here." Martha called out to me. I walked in front of a section of the place which had bright lights and built in closets. All of them were filled with dresses and lingeries and shirts and pants. "How about this?" She took out a dark blue dress with a sweetheart neckline. I touched the fabric and reminisced at the soft feeling.

This was good I must admit.

"This is great." I tell her. "Do you have any other styles?"

"Yes!" She grinned and turned to the rack. "We've got different neck cuts and hem sizes. You can pair these up with jackets that we have in the collection or belts. Most people like the ones with the fabric straps already in the dress or even pockets... Our best seller however is this one." She plucked out a tea pink dress and handed it to me.

It had a wide V neck with thin straps. Designs of roses were scattered along the dress which fell to about my thighs. It was very pretty no doubt.

"And how about this?" Martha twirled to me with another dress. It was a body on white one which was way too revealing and way too sheer.

"Oh no thanks." I laughed as she chuckled nodding. "It's too revealing."

"Revealing good though, no? All teenagers and women wear this nowadays."

"Not me." I politely passed. People had their own preferences and I had mine.

"What about our lingerie collection?" She pointed to the laced, satin and silk underwear and bra. I raised my eyebrows. "I'll give you and your boyfriend privacy. I'll be at the counter." She gave us a knowing look and walked away.

I blew out a laugh and turned to Aaron. "Martha is really wilding." He smirked at me as I held up the dress. "What do you think?"

"I like it." He said giving me an approving nod.

I bit my lip and looked at it. "It's a dress though so I don't really know."

"I like you in dresses." Aaron says stepping to me.

"You do?" I asked tilting my head.

"Yeah. I like how easy it is to put my hand up your dress and feel you ." He whispered into my ear. I shivered as he pulled back a fraction with darkened eyes. "And now I want you to do something for me."

"What?" I asked a little too breathless.

"I want you to go into that changing room right now and try on every piece of lingerie I give you. I want you to model them for me." He tells me as my eyes widened.

"That will take a lot of time-"

"I have all the time in the world for you. Now go be a good girl and strip down there while I get you your stuff." He gave me a lop sided grin as I walked to the changing room with a glittering sensation running through every part of my body.

Martha knew what she was doing.

...

Sersha took a long slurp of coke. "I can't believe vacation is ending. We have to go to school like the day after." She pouted.

I leaned my chin against her shoulder and sighed as we watched passing shoppers. Madison was busy buying some clothing in the mall while Sersha, Aaron, Jordan and I sat at the food court. The rest were at home playing video games.

"I know right?" I exclaimed. "It's so fucking annoying. We don't even get a vacation for coming back from vacation."

"It's unfair." Jordan huffed. "At least give us a week extra off. Now we go back to studying. It's stupid."

"My thoughts exactly. I hate studying. I learn more by doing things then reading and memorizing" I muttered running a hand through my hair.

"Well whatever." Jordan sighed. "Let's enjoy the last day of our vacation without the thought of studying." I agreed to that one hundred percent.

Aaron pulled my chair to him and rested his hand on my knee. "I just want to sleep."

"You always want to sleep." Sersha rolled her eyes.

Aaron lifted a shoulder lazily. "I get the best sleep." His winked at me as I took a sip from Sersha's coke.

She moved it forward as I stuck my mouth out to catch the straw from her shoulder. "Too bad Bryce is sleeping with me today."

"What?" Aaron looked at her frustrated. "She's my girlfriend."

"She's my best friend. Have a problem?" Damn the shy girl was getting her spikes.

"Hey it's unfair that every time she gets to sleep with one of you guys. Bryce and I haven't had a real sleepover since forever. She's sleeping with me tonight." I glanced at the old lady next to us watching us with wide eyes.

I gave her an awkward smile and a wave of fingers to which she looked away. Alright then.

"I think she gets to decide that." Aaron concluded. "It's her choice."

"That it is." I announced. I narrowed my eyes at all of them and chose. "I shall be warming Jordan's bed tonight." A screech of metal against the marble occurred and the old lady quickly scurried away making us all laugh.

"Thank you for your humble words." Jordan bowed. "I'll go get the car. Call Maddie and tell her to come quick. It ain't an all nighter here." He huffed taking out his keys and walking to the parking lot.

"I'm going to miss you." Aaron pouted at me.

"Oh please." Sersha scoffed. "She's gone for one night. Plus I can't imagine how you'd survive once you both are off to college." I watched Aaron's face cautiously as it matched mine. Still a sore topic.

I decided to change the subject and sniffed. "I'm starving. Is anybody else?"

"I already ordered you two burgers and a cappuccino." Aaron told me as he waved over the waiter. "No pickles and extra sauce." He took the brown bag from the waiter and handed it to me proudly.

"Thank you." I smiled at him. "It's perfect." I pushed back in my seat and got up pocketing my phone. Just as I was about to leave Madison came running towards me with her limbs flailing.

"Bryce!" She shouted from across the large, very echoed, hallway. "You'll never guess which guy is hitting on you right now!"

"Which one!" I shout back.

"The one with the dark hair at three 'o' clock." I turned to the direction to see a guy, probably in his early twenties, lock eyes with me. He had a small smirk playing on his lips as he nodded at me.

Well he was hot with all the chains and that hoodie and flannel look he had going on. Plus he had a beanie.

But he was nowhere near as attractive as Aaron was.

I walked up to Aaron and fisted his shirt in my hands. He looked at me taken aback as I pulled him forward and smashed my lips against his. I kissed him roughly pulling him closer before breaking apart for breath.

"Woah." Aaron breathed as I licked my lips staring at his eyes.

"I know." I said and turned around walking out the place and toward the parking lot.

I felt badass for some reason.

...

"Fucking hell!" I scream burying my face in Jordan's neck as another jump scare appeared. "Is it over?"

"Uh no not really. He's still ripping out her heart- oh wait no now he's cracking her chest and eating her." Jordan responded.

I groaned louder. "You just had to choose this movie didn't you?"

"Fucking yes I did. Emery hates horror so we watch romances instead but you are my bitch so you have to do as I say."

"Do I bark?"

"Metaphorically? Yes you do. But as my best friend we get to call each other dumb shit."

"A whole package deal." I scoop up some more guacamole with my nacho cup and jerk forward to grab it in my mouth before it fell. "How are you and Emery by the way? I mean is it official?"

"As official as it gets. We've practically done everything together so why not put a label on it too, you know." Jordan explained. "We both love each other so that's enough."

"Aww." I cooed opening my arms and wrapping them around his head. "What happened to the skinny boy who had voice cracks?"

"He hit puberty and snagged a hot chick."

I stroked his head with my hand while he tried pushing me off. "And damn was that puberty something. I still remember those sliver of hairs that you called a moustache."

"And I still remember the scar on my upper lip by that special somebody who used a razor to shave it off." He hmmed at me.

"I made you attractive. Never said beauty was an easy thing." I flipped my hair over shoulder and each for another chip.

I caught him staring at me with a small smile. "What?"

"Nothing."

I groaned out loud and slapped his face playfully. "Tell me."

"Nope."

"Tell me or I'll shove this chip up your ass." I threatened.

"I'd like to see you try." He mused as I put my finger on the loop of his belt and tugged it before shoving a chip in. "Okay! Okay! Jesus!" Jordan surrendered taking it off from his hip.

"Now tell me." I pressed. I was a nosy person at pretty much all times. I hated it when people did not finish their sentences.

"I was just thinking how much happier you are with Aaron now. I don't know. You just seem... like you're living life again." He admitted.

"Oh." I mumbled kind of shocked. "Really?"

He nodded. "I mean yeah. You guys seem to be really into each other. He cares about you a lot, man. Like almost all the time he's staring at you like you're some fucking shooting star that landed in front of him." I snorted as he went on. "He's madly in love with you. I never thought he would be he is. I mean who would want to fall in love with a orangutan like you, huh?" I elbowed him as he laughed draping an arm over me. "And you love him?"

"Yes." I simply said with a grin that could not be held.

"It makes me jealous sometimes to see that type of love. I'm happy you have it though. You both seem to be pulled out of that miserable state." He murmured.

"You too, mate. I'm glad Emery came into your life. I mean you haven't smelled this good since the PE teacher had made it a rule to bring deodorant to classes." He laughed flicking my nose as I laid on his shoulder.

We munched on some more snacks until he sat up so fast I fell off the bed backwards.

"Ow!" I hiss looking up at the ceiling with my back to the floor. I winced as I tried to get up. It did not work so I continued laying down to save myself the effort of pain. I am going to slaughter Jordan and then have him hanged in the chimney.

"Shit. Sorry." He piped scrambling to the edge of the bed and staring down at me. I glared at him with all my might. "I just had a brilliant idea."

"Oh here we go." I muttered rolling my eyes. "And what might that be? Surely it would be important enough to fling me off the bed like a damn possessed fish." I growl at him.

He looked at me sheepishly. "I told you I'm sorry Bry. After you here my idea you will love me even more." I raised my eyes skeptically for him to go on. "We both are eighteen now. We can legally get tattoos in Waylerd!"

"Holy shit Jordan! You're right. You bloody batshit genius."

"Thank you for the ovation but we can still make it to the parlor."

I quirk my lips and thought. Those damn security guards the circumference our house would be hard to get past. Especially with my mother high on security after a lot of people who were too obsessed with our lives started breaking in. Most of the time that point would rise high when my grandad was mentioned. I remember how obsessed they were with me. The headlines were a bitch.

An adopted heir to the Weston industries?

Breeding a new multimillionaire child from an ineligible bloodline?

Child or vessel to save the money coffers?

Yeah... those were just some of them. They were a whole darker ones too. I shook out of my thoughts and looked back at Jordan. "The guards."

He limped on the bed disappointedly.

"Wait though." I straightened on my elbows. The harsh screams from his computer still poured through and lit up his silhouette as I went on. "The park has a broke fence. It leads to a trail down to downtown. We can get through."

Jordan looked over his shoulder at the clock. "One am shenanigans? I'm in. We need a disguise though."

"Right." I nodded as he helped me get up. "Do you have hoodies on you right now?"

He grinned at me knowingly. "Project incognito penguins?"

"Affirmative." I cracked my fingers. "It's showtime."

...

"Tada!" I slid on the floor to look at Jordan who looked exactly like me. We both had oversized hoodies that were scrunched all the way at our face so the only thing showing were put sunglasses and nose.

"We look hot as hell." Jordan laughed as I tried to maintain serious but ended up giving in. "Let's go."

We walk through the door down the stairs quietly to ensure nobody gets up. Walking to the main door we quickly scrambled out and ran to the park.

I can only imagine how we looked with our arm swings and large strides and of course get up. We kicked through the snow nearly falling a couple times.

I hopped off the Merry-go-round and went to the fence on the right.

Running I nearly froze as a high pitched scream occurred and before you know it Jordan was skidding on his back between my legs. I reached my hand to get him but that resulted in me falling down as well. Hand in hand we screamed as we neared the fence and hit it with a thud.

"I think I'm paralyzed." Jordan squeaked. I crawled towards him and got up.

"Get up before someone sees us." I said starting to panic. The guards over here were tight. They once told me to stop sitting at the top of the monkey-bars as I could die.

Jordan hurriedly got up and we both crawled through the hole in the fence running down the dark trail covered with trees.

"They're no bats right?" I whispered to Jordan as I looked about alerted.

"I never watched national geographic." He confessed. "But creepy things always happen under trees."

"Oh hell." I muttered running out and towards the city. We strangled ourselves out the bushes and into the buzzing streets of Waylerd.

Jordan pulled at my shoulder and dragged me to the left. "This way. It's right about... there." He pointed to the large neon sign that read Tattoo Parlor.

We waited for the pedestrian light to turn green before racing there and getting awful looks from people. I quickly pulled my hood down and removed my glasses with a shaky laugh.

Jordan did the same as we pushed the metal rod of the door and stumbled into the welcoming heat.

"Hello." A woman choked behind the desk. She had short brown hair with bangs. Her wrist contained a few tattoos as she shook for us to come over. "I'm Rena, how can I help you folks?"

"We want to get a tattoo." Jordan started glancing at me.

"That's the shops objective." Rena smiled. "Do you have a design in mind? There are different prices for the size of it and if you want a coloured one."

I placed my hands on the black counter and looked at the prices. "We both want small ones and preferably in black."

Rena looked at me curiously. "English lilt and clear wording. You're not from the city are you?"

I licked my lips not sure whether to answer that.

"Don't let anyone catch you on that. They charge mean prices and get ideas that shouldn't be used. Sit down and I'll arrange two people to get you folks done." She smiled and walked alway. I looked at Jordan who shrugged as we sat in the empty seat isle and stared at the TV screen. It had some WWE going on.

We waited for five minutes before she emerged through the hallways. "Door numbers 2 and 4. Enjoy."

I got up with Jordan and we walked down the hallway wrinkling our noses at the thick smell. It was sharp and different. I did not like it. I stood behind my door and he did ours.

"I shall see you on the other side." Jordan turned his hand and so did I.

...

"It didn't hurt as bad as I thought it would." I confessed to Jordan. "Cassie did a great job."

"Brent too." He showed me his tattoo which was on his rib. It was a small dragon that looked really cool to be honest.

We walked into the house and quickly undid our costumes secretly laughing at each other.

"Well, well, well." A voice broke out making Jordan and I jump into each other.

Five lamps lit on at once making my heart race.

Sersha, Reuben, Aaron, Maddie and Owen all had their hands crossed as they stared at us. "What do we have here?" Sersha mused.

Jordan pressed into me whispering in my ear.
