So close, no matter how far
Couldn't be much more from the heart
Forever trusting who we are
No, nothing else matters

Mrs Ollie is a kind, older woman. She lost her mate a few years ago, when a group of rouges attacked the border. He was one of our finest warriors, sadly, he was killed trying to save two of our newest warriors. All the rouges died in that attack, along with two of our own warriors. Mrs Ollies husband and one of the new warriors he was trying to protect.

Once we stepped through the door, we followed the corridor to a small room.

Inside the room was a twin bed in the corner, a fire place that wasn't currently lit with a rocking chair in front of it. Beside the bed, was a small night stand, with a pair of glasses and a book that I couldn't quiet make out the title of.

To the left, was another door that led to a bathroom, that was only for the cook position.
The rest of the rooms in the hall shared a giant  bathroom. In the other corner, was a tall wardrobe, that Mrs Ollie walked straight over to and opened up. Inside, she pulled out a first aide kit and told me to sit on the bed. She put a small amount of alcohol on a cotton ball and began to clean my wound. I winced, slightly, at the stinging that followed.

"I'm sorry dear, I don't mean to hurt you, but we've got to get this fixed up, so you don't get an infection" she said.
I just nodded in agreement.

I've never had someone help me with my wounds before, so I was happy to have the help. Ive always had to steal the supplies I needed to fix anything that happened, and I wasn't really sure what I was going to begin with.

"Octavia, I know that the Alpha made a law to never help you but I swear to the Moon Goddess above that I will never hurt you. I don't agree with the decisions the Alpha and pack members do so you can trust me" Mrs Ollie said as she was finishing the stitches that I needed in my forehead.

"Uhh, th-thank you Mrs Ollie but I don't want you to get in trouble for my sake. Please don't worry about me. I'll be fine" I say.

"My dear, you don't have to worry about me. I'll always be here for you" she replied.

Something about her words caused a single tear to fall from my eye. No sooner than it fell, I blinked away the rest. Trying not to succumb to these emotions trying to flood from my eyes. I've never experienced this kind of compassion before, and honestly I'm not even sure how to process any of it. I want to freeze this moment, forever. Take this kind, beautiful soul and leave this horrid place. Her, nor I, belong in this world. A world full of hate and darkness. She is the tiniest bit of light, in this dreary place.
I don't care how bad they beat me, if they find out, I'll forever be indebted to this sweet woman.

"thank you moon goddess" I silently whisper to myself

"thank you for letting our paths cross"
