Naya's POV.

Ryan's house, or office, as he liked to call it was near the mountains, by the lake. There was a cell tower near the human civilization that gave him a clear line for communications. I'd been accustomed to use hardly any social media, hence, I didn't even have the urge to even check anything when my phone received a full signal.

"We have 14 new shipments ready for delivery but the damn people I do business with knows we don't have many connections so they lowered the purchase price." He banged his phone on the table.

"Do you have other companies around here?" I wondered. He handed me the yellow pages and I flipped through them to find couple of competing companies and did some research on the computer. Ryan was the sole businessman in this whole pack. I understood that Ocean didn't want to endanger anyone else. Ryan's life was always in danger every time he went outside the walls before but it's not the same anymore. I was sure more people would be interested in this and take the burden off him. It took me about an hour to jot down details about their business management their purchasing prices.

Picking up the phone I called each and one of them, arranging a meeting with nearly every one of them. I was open to travel out and do the meeting myself, on my own. We hadn't had a single hunter attack in months, I wanted to get out there in the city for even just a day.

"How the HELL did you manage to do that?" Ryan sat there in awe. I knew he was a tremendous businessman but they lost a lot of business because they weren't allowed to visit those warehouses.

"I'm going to go meet them, solidify the deal." I was sat across from his desk. I didn't have my own office yet because I liked working outside in the sun, by the lake among serenity. Ocean said he placed an order for a mahogany desk but I didn't care much for an elaborate design.

"You aren't allowed." He stated as a matter of fact.

"We will be. We haven't had any attacks in months, the guy who was after us is dead and I think we deserve to live as freely as we can. I know people still will be sceptical and I also know we are doing exceptionally well but have you seen these..." I showed him the hand carved lion designs with rays of mane etched into the wood. "...this could sell for twice as much as those leeches are offering you. No hunter attacks, means, no need for 100s of enforcers. We can build another workshop and make MORE and sell for more."

"True but let's not get ahead of ourselves." He leaned back in his chair.

"No, let's start small, find more than 5 companies we can create a relationship with. We have amazing craftsmen, trust me, after they see what we have, your current company would weep for their losses." I smiled but my optimism didn't reach him.

"Sweetheart, you go ahead and make those new connections. I've lost hope but with the Darkling gone, maybe we can finally live more freely." He paused, getting up on his feet from his black revolving leather chair and headed towards the open window that hosted the most spectacular view. It reminded me of one of Lorenzo's painting of the valley near Verdicci.

My eyes diverted towards the photo on his table. It stood out from his sophisticated room filled with dark wood furniture. The simple square frame was badly brushed with chipped yellow paint, bright pink and red flowers with green leaves. It was done by his daughter in the frame. She inherited Ryan's bright blond hair and her mother's deep green eyes.

"Where's your family?" I remembered seeing them at the pack house.

"They are at the workshop. She told me she loves the smell of wood and wants to be carpenter." He laughed. She was a ball of spitfire. A 7 year old with full of life.

We heard the door open downstairs without a knock, Ocean's scent wafted through the house. The evening sun bid it's goodbye, from behind the mountains. Picking up my laptop and diary planner, I put them back in my bag, ready to head home. Ocean smelled like gun powder, an annoyed frown was etched on his forehead when he walked in through the door.

"Ocean, guess who just expanded our business?" When he looked at me, the wrinkle on the bridge of his nose vanished, pride oozed from his straight shoulders.

"I would have to meet them face to face to finalize the deal-" He just stood there, the frown back on his face. He hummed, thinking something through, then he walked over to me slowly, placed a kiss on my temple.

"I'll come with you." Ryan was as surprised as I was at Ocean's lack of disagreement but he met the spirit who made him a promise.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes." He confirmed. "Ryan, your hair gets greyer every time I see you." I didn't know if he was joking or being serious because it was true.

"Ah!" Ryan chuckled. "Dealing with the humans would do that to you."

"Well, I have an expert now. Maybe give you some time off? I can take over for a while. My men are getting bored now. No more weekly attack, no more patrolling. They are getting restless." Ryan's surprised gaze returned to me. Ocean told me about the lack of activity and I knew he wanted to add more of his men into different sectors to keep them busy.

"I think that would be great. Spend time with the family." He seemed happy. "Family is important."

"Yes." He put his hand on my back. "It is." I felt his love throughout connection and that simple touch meant more than words.

Ocean brought the SUV even though I was capable of walking all the way. He even carried my bag out of the house and into the car, like a true gentleman. His muscles twitched under the short black sleeves of his t-shirt when he controlled the steering wheel. I was practically drooling with my mouth open. The car jumped but he remained unfazed.

A knowing smile crept up to his mouth, his other hand lifted, knuckles brushed over his lips, trying to hide it. I squirmed in my seat, turned on beyond my mind.

"ERGH!" I pouted.

The sky above was darkening, heat outside lowered while it increased inside the car. I rubbed my mark taunting him. He could feel it on his mark. Suddenly he pulled over under a tree with low branches, cramped with big leaves. The twigs scratched against the glass, leaves swished over the metal. Impatiently he turned off the engine.

It felt exhilarating to use my wolf vision in the dark. His red eyes pounced on me, coaxing out a gleeful squeak. I lowered my backrest and managed to crawl over to the back seat. I tore off his t-shirt with my nails and bit his chest. He chuckled at my eagerness and hissed the minute I sunk my k-9s into his bicep muscles, drawing blood.

He fisted my hair at the nape of my neck and yanked hard. I salivated in his strength and dominance. Pushing him back, I climbed over him, decided to take off his belt and jeans instead of ripping them apart.

Our ride back to our house was interesting and we decided to take the day off because neither of us could or wanted to walk again.

"I thought we weren't doing anything today?" I complained. Ocean had reduced the border petrol and took the weekend off to spend uninterrupted time with me.

"I told you. I want you to introduce you to some people." We'd been walking for miles and he even took me by the waterfalls he told me about. It was absolutely beautiful. The algae on the mountain walls surrounding the area turned the water green which flowed down the rocky steps to meet the lake. We climbed up to the top and I marvelled at the beauty that stretched before us.

The tree tops hid the houses apart from the Pack house. Wolves and people walked freely together, Ocean said it was the first time he allowed his pack to travel in wolf form in daylight but they were still not allowed to go past the walls, even if it was just the woods.

We passed the mountain and followed the lake for miles.

"We have to cross back over." He told me, pointing at the boating dock.

"Then why did we cross over in the first place?" I complained.

"Because I wanted you to see the damn waterfall." He shook his head

"I AM TIRED. I slept for only five hours. FIVE HOURS." I spread out my fingers in front of his face.

You're the one who didn't let me sleep last night. He spoke through our link.

I rolled my eyes. You didn't have to fuck me all night after. A smirk stretched across his lips.

It was my pleasure.

I know, I was there. It felt amazing speaking to someone through pack link. He tapped my butt while I was getting on the boat. Starting the engine, he guided it to the other side. We carried on walking again but now on our side of the woods. We walked hand in hand, savouring the summer afternoon sun. The sunrays played peekaboo with the leaves, sometimes they blocked the light, sometimes they allowed it to touch the ground.

Ocean was wearing a white t-shirt with light grey cargo shorts while I was in a while sleeveless dress.

"How's work going?" I leaned into him rubbing his arm.

"Nothing's happening. My men are sitting around watching security tapes, trackers are bored, they go out trying to get a scent but there's nothing. Usually we'd smell something and anticipate an attack, work out a defence. But now... nothing."

"That's good though." I wondered if he was afraid of the calm before the storm.

"Yes but they are wolves not cats." I laughed. "My men need a purpose, they can't lay around doing nothing."

"You know you're funny sometimes." He was making small jokes every now and then and I loved to see him so laid back.

"My dad was funny. I always remembered my parents laughing while growing up. I used to find it annoying but now I miss it." He didn't laugh much but he wasn't too moody anymore. He said he was too happy for that but still needed some time to get used to the new dynamic.

"I wish I could have met them." Their pictures around the house didn't do justice to the way Ocean described them.

"That's where I'm taking you."

I gaped at him while he nodded, guided me through the trees. Headstones filled the clearing when we finally emerged. There must have been about 100 of them or maybe more. The 2 large ones at the far end caught my eyes.

Alpha Anthony Deveraux
Loving father, husband and a fierce leader.

Female Alpha Enari Axlure
Loving mother, wife and a generous leader.

"Your mother was from South Western?" No wonder he was tanned like me. They also had exotic names. Like my mother. (Latin America)

"Central South but yes. I should have brought you to meet them earlier but we did have a darkling chasing our ass." I smiled. (Central America)

"What would they say if they were alive?" I wondered.

"My mother would always boast about how her daughter-in-law is extremely smart and pretty..." I beamed. "...and my dad would be proud of you. Of your loyalty and bravery."

We stood there in silence for a long time staring at their headstones as he told me sweet stories about them. He after introduced me to Samuel.

Samuel O'Shea
Loving son, loyal protector and the great warrior.

He introduced me each one of his fallen members, the ones with little grave stones tugged at my heart. The young innocent lives that were lost because of a crazy hybrid. He also saw Josh's father tomb stone. According to Ocean, he was a kind man and Josh's mother was a sweet lady unlike the one I met when I went to visit her with Josh and Macey. We ended up at the pack house by dinner. His whole team was dying with boredom. They still couldn't believe what they had seen back at Tiscan.

"So, I hear that you two got married?" A.J. asked. "The human kind?"

"Yes we did. Well, Aaron got ordained online we mailed for our marriage certificate and changed my last name." I explained. The mayor knew Ocean personally and when he gave him a call, he made sure that we didn't have to go down to the city hall.

"Why?"

"She wanted to take his last. She's Naya Deveraux now not Cato." Macey explained biting into her fillet burger.

"Is that a big deal?" Levi wondered out loud.

"In human world, yes. I wanted to take his last name. It's like a husband and wife thing." I bumped my shoulder with Ocean's and I immediately regretted it. He was about to bite down on his burger but the nudge, spearing the ketchup across his cheeks. He narrowed his eyes at me while everyone on the table laughed.

I rolled my eyes at his antics. Leaning over, I wiped his cheeks with a napkin and placed a quick peck on his lips before returning my attention to food.

My back hit the mattress and it was still light out. I was ready for long nap. A couple of blue orchids with purple veins sat on the desk by the window. They were my favourite kind in the world and he managed to surprise me with it. He finally drew the blinds and joined me after calling Aaron for any updates. Even though it was his day off, he still couldn't relax. Not because he's an Alpha but because he's a workaholic.

"Thank you for taking me with you," He spooned me from behind, holding me tightly in his arms.

"I think it's time." He spoke after a comfortable silence.

"Time?"

"To move and build our own place." I heard the pain in his voice. "Time to let my parents go."

"I love this house." I really did. It didn't have marble halls of my dad's house or Asyut pillars from our previous life but this was home.

"But we're in the room where I grew up in. I think it's time for me to let go."

"We can expand on it or do something else but I don't want to move from here. Your parents built a happy house here and it's going to be me and you for a long time before we start having kids so we can either move in to the big room, which is enough for the both of us or we can expand this room." I suggested.

He thought about it for a while and just before I was about to fall asleep he nodded.

"Okay, well move in to the bigger room but we can expand that. Add a couple of other bedrooms.-"

"More rooms? Why?" I stilled. I was never the type to dream about being a perfect wife with kids but once I was taken back to my past lives, I physically left how Naya in Renaissance's period felt. She was pregnant and in love with her Ocean, Enzo. It was beautiful to witness and experience. My chest expanded from tall the emotions I felt for the man in my arms. He was everything to me and I was not ashamed to admit it.

Because for him, I was his life.

"Yeah, for future." He paused. "You want kids right?"

"Yeah." It scared me to think about kids. "But now. I want to enjoy us. Finally." I ran my finger through his hair.

"I know, we have years to think about kids but I really want to expand the house. Add a 2 more bedrooms, bathroom, expand the living and dinning downstairs, including the kitchen. I'll give you your own walk in closet." He chuckled.

"I don't need a closet. I need you." I stroked his forearm.

"You have me. Forever." He paused, whispering softly. "Finally."

I smiled, knowing he was right. We'd been together since the beginning of time and we'd always be together.

No matter what.
