Naya's P.O.V.
1 month later...

"Do you want me to shut the window?" Ocean rubbed my bare back as I sat up. The wind howled outside, rain beat against the walls. The full bloomed branches brushed against each other like swords.

"No I like the cold air. It feels amazing not to feel the chills again." I pulled the blanket up to cover my chest. My hair didn't reach past my waist anymore, it ended in layers just past my shoulders. Ocean didn't appreciate that I shopped it off but it wasn't his call to make. Unconsciously, I had the same hair style for centuries, I needed a damn change.

Ocean's hair was back to how I remember seeing it the first time I met him. All nearly buzzed along the sides, and longer on the top. His short stubbles left graze marks on my neck, chest and inner thighs.

"Are you hungry?" I got out of bed, put on his discarded shirt on that ended half away down my thighs.

He lazily yawned. "Always" he said, rubbing his naked chest.

"What do you want to eat?" It was the middle of the night and we'd been going at each other for hours.

He didn't wait much longer to mark me after we returned from Tiscan. Macey was pissed that I didn't tell her but she understood that Lea could have still been working with the Darkling. She wasn't mad at Aaron or Ocean anymore but she was still feisty as ever.

Everything downstairs was covered with darkness. I turned on the lamps, soft light steamed down to the kitchen. It was half stocked with fresh food and half tapware containers. I cooked whenever I wasn't working. Sometimes, Ocean would came home with me, help me set up and even cook without burning the house down.

"What are we having?" He started setting plates and glasses on the island instead of the table. We hardly ate there.

"Beef stew and mash potato and some left over vegees." I started to microwave everything. "Your back looks like it was mauled by a bear." Open flesh was closing one by one. There were too many to close at once.

"Yes, I was there." I smiled at his comment, remembering our passionate nights from Asyut. Leaning over I pecked his back muscles, just above his shoulder blades, the furthest I could reach. He seemed to smile more often now and became more affectionate.

"Smartass." I smack his butt cheek. Quickly turning, he snatched me into his arms and took my mouth hungrily. We grabbed at each other, our lips grazing against one another desperately. We both had a high libido but late nights and early mornings were wearing us down but we didn't care.

"I love you Ocean." I needed to confess.

"I love you too Naya." The microwaved dinged. "I love you too." He couldn't stop saying it since we got back from Tiscan.

I sat side ways on the stool, allowing my bare knees to touch his thighs. His pecs had bites marks on them and biceps too but not as many as before. I gingerly touched the scar on his neck that he wore it with pride.

"Do you remember how you marked me in our last life?" We'd been speaking about all the lives we remembered. I remembered it all but he remembered a lot more than he let on.

Shaking his head, he picked up the mashed potato with the edge of his fork, dripping with gravy. "I remembered seeing you laying on your bed from your previous life. I thought you were dead. Then I realised what I did."

"That wasn't the only time you nearly marked me early." I taunted him. He was a quiet person and loved listening to our stories from previous lives. His eyes widened, the tilt of his chin allowed me to carry on.

"In Asyut." His lips lifted to one side and nodded. "You married me under the ancient laws when I was only 15 and you were 18."

"WOW that young?"

"People married when they were young back in the day. I was 25 when we died. Ten full years! You were so sexy walking around half naked all the time." He chuckled.

"From what I remember, you hardly wore any clothes." He reached out took on of my breasts in his hand and squeezed. He quickly let go, teasing me. Smacking his upper arm playfully, I rolled my eyes.

"THAT was the fashion." However, he was right. "I saw what happened to Daria. They tried to kill her after. The humans I mean but a human soldier from your squad found her and ran away with her." I carried on eating.

"Didn't the humans who were open to supernatural beings come under heavy scrutiny?" He knew.

"Yes, that's why they had to run. They fell in love and actually had a happy life. They managed to get on a ship to Central. He became a guard and she made clothes for a living. They had 3 children, 2 boys and 1 girl. They were happy. I'm glad nothing bad happened to her."

"Me too, I remember our time with Elina, I wish we weren't such idiots in our last life." He shook his head making me laugh.

"You were NOT ready to be an Alpha."

"I was too obsessed with you. Every time I remembered something from my old life, all my thoughts were you. How to get over you, under you, insid-"

"I get the picture. We were both horny teenagers." I remembered the girl I was, how obsessed I was with him. Chuckling, we both fell into a comfortable silence as we ate.

"Do you know why we didn't have any children?" His voice was merely a whisper. We were still in our honeymoon phase to worry about kids. He'd never brought it up before, even after I told him about the unborn child we lost.

"I think after the Renaissance period, the spirits didn't grace us with children. You remember I told you that I heard her apologise. Maybe it was because of the baby?" Frown marred his forehead before I heard him gulp.

"We were happy." I stroked his back wanting to tell him that one day we will have a child, maybe more but I refrained from it. I wasn't ready to have that conversation yet. Babies freaked me out in this life. Crying and pooping all the time. I was not ready for it.

"I know how we died but not that you were pregnant." He threw his fork on the plate.

"That's why I never got pregnant again, no matter how much we tried in the next life." We remained silent for a long time, finishing our food. The light above us didn't reach too far, the yellow lights touched the deep red woods of the cabinets. I loved his home. It became my own home now.

After we cleaned up, we ended up in his room again. He was such a big man, sometimes it humbled to me to see him so vulnerable sometimes. I tied up my hair before getting into bed again, exhausted.

"How are your parents doing?" The flexible bed side lamp illuminated only a small portion of the room. His room was a lot smaller than mine. He gave me the room of his parents because he could never move into in. I still had half of my belongings in the other room but the main necessities were now in his room.

"They are still worried. I spoke to his friend too, the one who sent the plane for me. He thought you guys were keeping me hostage. I've known him since I was a baby. But my dad explained to him that everything is fine. Although my dad might have to give him some large discounts in their next project." I waved my hand like it didn't matter.

"Hmm..." He pulled me to him, put his arm under my head. "He still hates me."

"He's just worried." I didn't want my dad hating Ocean because I would always pick Ocean. He hummed rubbing his cheek.

"Did he punch you?" I sat up, uncaring of my see-through t-shirt.

"Yeah, when you ended up in Clinic. At least he had the decency to do it when no one was around." He pulled me back in his arms.

"You shouldn't have let him. Oh Goddess!" I stroked his face gently. Smiling, he pushed his bottom lip out and shrug.

"I wanted to do it myself." He sighed.

"It wasn't your fault, baby." I didn't say anything to that. I knew that he still blamed himself for not telling me but if he had, the spirits wouldn't have had the chance to sacrifice my wolf and return all the memories to me. The things I needed.

He reached over me to turn off the light, then settled back into our normal position. We listened to the storm brewing outside, wondering what was happening past the walls. Darkwood was ours. No harm was to come to this place, the spirits had promised us that.

"I think Korinthos was the hardest life we ever lived. I remember before we went on the run. I used to teach how to make pottery, sold many of mine too. You were a money changer." I felt the ghost of his smile on my shoulder.

"I remember."

"You were always so damn smart..." He paused. "But it all went downhill when Zarius decided to seek out all werewolf because one of the Alpha decided to disrespect him. Who the hell decides to disrespects the King." He scoffed.

"Zarius had the power to call upon rain and thunder whenever he wished to. I don't know why an alpha werewolf thought he could take on a water spirit creature. Granted the Darkling was there, provoking Zarius against us but I swear, if I was the Alpha-"

"You wouldn't have disrespected him." I knew that. He wasn't a hot headed reckless alpha. He was a leader not a dictator. His hands ran over my curves.

"I'm so happy you're back to normal. I remember how skinny you were in Korinthos, going days without food, living like we were nothing. I'd never felt such shame-"

"NO." I turned in his arms, desperately trying to ease his pain. That was the only time I remember seeing him cry. They had broken his soul, taken away his self-worth. "I know how I felt then, I still loved you."

"Yes, I remember." The storm subsided, I could practically imagine the water droplets, slide off the leaves and drop in the small muddy puddles on the ground, dimpling the surface. It felt revitalising to experience my heighten senses again. His breath on my shoulder comforted me, soft snoring lulled me to sleep.

I couldn't imagine my life without him. I've lost him too many times and the pain crippled me. I wanted to savour him, children could come later, much later but right now I wanted him all to myself. I kissed his chest, the coarse sprinkle of hairs ticked my nose.

We were finally happy, finally together and I wasn't going to let anything come between us.
