Ocean's P.O.V.

At first she remained silent, then, a distrustful smile stretched across her lips. She opened her mouth to say something but I cut her off. Knowing exactly what would make her believe me.

"You aren't ill. They aren't hallucination. They are memories from out past lives. The more you know, the more regular they become." She appeared to be stunned. "I'm sorry, I acted like a dickhead. I just didn't want you to know the truth because... there's more."

There was a lot more that I needed to explain to her but instead I was babbling. How could you convince someone about an alternate reality when they've been believing in a whole different one? Sighing, I sat down on the chair next to her.

"This is not our first life. We've been born repeatedly for centuries. I think this is our 8th life, I'm not sure. Honestly, Lea thinks it's because we are the only ones who can defeated the Darkling. We've nearly succeeded before but he's a lot stronger now." She looked even more confused.

"Who's Lea?" She finally asked.

"She used to be your best friend in our previous life. You two were extremely close..." I paused watching her head shake from side to side. "I was the future Alpha that was killed in Red Mount pack. Alpha LoRusso's pack. That's why no one knows about why they were and why they died. That's because it's us and they knew no one would believe them so they decided to say it's the hunters where as we were decimated." I sighed, remember Lea's tear filled voice when she told about that days' tragedy.

"What?" She didn't seem to believe me.

"You know how we were told stories about Hybrids and that they aren't real. Well that's what The Darkling is. In the first century, we used to be the King and the Queen of Tiscan Valley." I continued.

Tiscan was one of the ancient high functioning civilization on earth. There are remains left that are perfectly intact. How? No one knows. Humans believe the earth was formed millions of years ago, true. But we believe that the spirits created us instead of evolution as the humans called it. Why? Because we have the powers to show it.

"Humans were being born and so were hybrids. I don't have any visual recollection of it but when we nearly defeated The Darkling last time, he disclosed that we gave order to kill all the Hybrids because they were killing people with their powers. It was like a game to them. They were all psychopaths. However, two somehow fell in love and they started killed as a couple. They had powers beyond anyone's control.

"So, we had to use many witches to lure them out and they managed to kill the girl but somehow The Darkling survived. Probably because of his Warlock powers or something but I don't know. But he survived and he torched the place we were in." My mention of fire had her looking down at her lap, sending her into deep thoughts.

"Did you see something about fire?" I asked. She nodded, still puzzled. "Yeah. That's not the only time but we'll get into that later."

She stayed quiet for a long time. Her heart monitor kept a steady rhythm. She needed some food. I contacted Adeya again to get us some homemade burger and fries. The bigger the better.

We ate in utter silence.

I wolfed down around full portions while she settled on her one. Her quietness dumbfounded me. If I were in her position, I would be kicking and screaming, blaming someone for lying to me. Specially with her wolf gone. The emptiness inside started to consume me.

Abruptly, she stopped.

"Wait, if you knew about the whole us and being reborn thing again, you knew I existed." A deep frown appeared between the bridge of her nose. I nodded, not wanting to admit to being a stalker. Even though it was for her safety. If I hadn't been selfish, I would have made some excuses and convince her to stay where she was.

"So, you knew I existed but never wondered what I looked like or who I was?" She accused. I couldn't believe I was acting nervous to tell my mate the truth. I've never been nervous. I'm an Alpha for goddess sake.

"I knew what you look like. Jace showed me pictures of us..." I cleared my throat before taking a sip of my drink to clear my tightening cord. "I also had a P.I. keep an eye on you."

She slowly got up from the bed, standing wobbly on her feet. She paced for a while, stopping every time she thought she had something to say. Finishing my food, I stood as well, acting nonchalant but I was getting ready to block her if she made a run for it. Inhaling loudly, she finally faced me.

"How long?" She flamed her arms around. I knew I had to tell her, she nearly fucking died.

"I was 17 when me and my parents visited the Red Mount pack. They lost their heirs... not too long ago and didn't want outsiders but my grandparents knew the LoRosso's parents so they agreed. I wanted t to find my mate." I sat down on her bed, hoping she'd follow suit. "They were stunned to see me. My face. It looked exactly like same and our names were the same. Fortunately, Lea... your ex best friend..." She rolled her eyes but did sit down. "She explained. Our lives were strongly bonded with the Earth Spirit. We are supposed to defeat The Darkling because the Spirits have no control over them, just like humans. So, our bond, our names, faces, and spirits are all connected so we can figure out how to defeat him."

"Why the fuck won't the spirits just provide us with the memories so we can defeat him."

"They are... you call it hallucinations." She made a 'o' face and sat back.

"So when I learned the truth and came back home. We were attacked and my parents were killed." She Since then I've tried to learn as much as I could about us, The Darkling and ways to defeat him. It took me a while to get back on my feet. Also, we started to build the walls straight after the attack..."

"Because the government owed you? They couldn't do anything before so they felt guilty. Bastards." Her understanding was admirable. Her rage over the death of my parents, who she's never met before, was humbling to learn. I never spoke to her about my past she knew enough about it.

"Yes, so after a couple of years, I gave a werewolf P.I. your photo from before, to find you. The attacks on Northern packs is because of me, so I hired from central. It a while but he found you a year and a half later and then for 3 years someone kept an eye on you. I made sure of that."

She leaned back, resting her head against the pillow.

"You know when we were back at my pack, my emotions going haywire... that was... what?" I remember shaking like a loose leaf in the beginning, just like her. Only in wolf form was I able to control it.

"It was the start, yes. I still had to delay so I could hide all the information and pictures I had of you at my home." I put the blanket over her, tucking her in tightly. She swatted my upper arm in astonishment. I smiled. She stared at me with angrily but I didn't care as long as she wasn't shouting at me to get the hell out.

"You should have told me." She scolded.

"I'm sorry." Sorry won't bring her wolf back.

"I'm mad at you." She closed her eyes but her voice remained firm.

"I know." She sure will take her revenge one way or another.

"I think I heard you just before..." She swallowed. "Before my wolf abilities started to fade." I dimmed the lights out. She was falling asleep slowly. "I knew you'd come."

Her last whisper took my breath away. I didn't deserve the confidence she had in her voice when I completely let her down. Kissing her forehead, I slowly brushed her hair back. I needed to find a way to get her wolf back, even if I had to sell my soul to the devil.
