GENESIS

I stood rooted to the spot while he waited expectantly for me to approach him.

I was dazed, completely mesmerized by the fine specimen that stood before me.

"Must I repeat myself My Love?" he asked cocking an eyebrow.

I felt my stomach tie itself in a knot, causing me to discreetly press my thighs together even further. I wonder if he knew how much he was affecting me right now.

I willed myself to think of something apart from the man standing at the center of the room. I knew it was only a matter of time before my arousal would blanket the air.

I couldn't afford that.

"Hmm" I heard him hum.

Before I could process what had happened, he was already directly in-front of me. Half an inch further and we would have been chest to chest.

"I thought I told you to come" he whispered.

I took a step back, my head was swarming with devilish thoughts of the man that was apparently already spoken for.

Each step I took back, he took one forward until my back hit the wall and I had no where else to go.

"I'd love nothing more than to chase you Genesis. But as I explained before we are on a time crunch" his voice was husky as he harshly exhaled through his nose.

"Do I turn you on King Amir" I asked suddenly feeling empowered.

"Immensely" he breathed pointing his eyes downward. "And I can smell that I turn you on as well."

Stunned at his bluntness, I couldn't respond.

"Amir the council is ready I thought you said you didn't have any meetings toda-" Adira stopped mid sentence at the sight of our compromising position in the corner of the room.

"What is going on here?" She folded her arms glaring in our direction.

Amir turned his head back to me, with a perplexed look he tried to hide.

"Look what you've done G, now we're out of time" he sighed standing up straight.

"Now you'll have to give me a hair cut another time"

What?

"Haircut?" I questioned.

"Yes my Love, haircut" he smirked, "what else could it be?" He asked gesturing to the equipment at the side that I hadn't noticed before.

"Adira, I'll be there soon. You can leave" he dismissed.

"What the actually hell Amir?" She screeched.

I wanted to feel sorry for her but the glare that she was sending my way dissolved any sympathy I had.

Then again, she was engaged to this man and I would be upset if I thought my fiancé was having an affair.

But I'm not the other woman. Am I?

"Good afternoon lady Adira" I greeted.

She sneered, cocking a hip and raising an eyebrow.

"You have some nerve you bitch"

The King and I growled in unison at her statement.

"Leave" he said tiredly waving a hand while changing into a new outfit that was placed neatly in a fly pack.

I guess that's why he had removed his shirt, seems a bit excessive but okay.

I made a beeline for the door about to leave seeing as I was no longer needed here.

"Come back to see me after your outing Genesis. Go back to your room to get cleaned up before you go" this man is so infuriating.

"You couldn't have said that to me privately?" I glared at him.

"She can smell it, it's no secret love. Now please get it done, we don't want any unnecessary attention being drawn to you. The tights are already doing a good enough job." He said fighting to tie his tie.

Rolling my eyes I walked towards him, working the tie myself.

"These are biker shorts my King" I stated matter-a-factly.

"Whatever they are, the males will be looking" he said looking down at me.

"As long as they don't touch" he breathed as I finished his tie.

"I don't know my King, I don't think I'd mind a few stray touches" I spun and walked away.

As soon I reached the door his calm and controlled voice boomed across the room.

"Don't get those men killed my love" then he smiled.

My arousal came back with a vengeance.

What the king didn't know is that I'd only want him to touch me.

As soon as I got a foot in my room, I heard a knock.

"For the love of the Goddess, wha-" I pulled the door open and before I could react there was a slap to my face.

Ok, that's new.

"You home-wrecking whore!" Adira screamed. "Do you think you can just waltz in here and sleep your way into the Royal family? Well guess what" she raised her hands to slap me once again.

Hit me once and I promise you you'll never have a chance to do that again. I caught her hand mid air and squeezed.

"Listen, I'm not with your juvenile antics. Let this be the first and the last time you come to my wing unannounced. Whatever you think is going on, is not my problem. And even if it were true, why not speak to your fiancé?" My wolf was itching to get her lick back but I kept her at bay.

"And trust and believe, I want nothing more than to bed your "fiancé" however, I'm not one to interfere in other's relationship" I sneered remembering that the King had a soulmate.

I felt low. Flirting with a mated man? Wow.

"So you'll leave us alone then?" She asked as I released her hand from my grip.

"Don't be ridiculous Adira, even the blind can see that there is no spark between you two. The King has found his mate" the petrified look on her face wasn't as satisfying as I had anticipated.

I went to close the door but she placed her foot to stop it.

Hatred burned in her eyes as she sneered, "You or any other bitch will not stop me from sitting on that throne. I am the highest ranked female in this pack, I am essential in bringing him strong pups. Do you hear me?"

She was almost foaming at the mouth and despite the unrealistic possessiveness I felt for Amir I laughed.

"You're asking me if I hear you? Do you hear yourself? You sound like a walking, talking cliche. Is that what you think of yourself? As simply a baby incubator? Do better." And with that I slammed my door.

I hate petty teenage like squabble, heading straight for the bathroom to freshen up I realized one good thing that came from that encounter.

My arousal was completely gone.
