When I woke up only my mom was in the room with me. "It's about time you woke up. How you feeling?" She asked smoothing my hair back. "I'm tired. Where's my baby?" I wondered. I wanted to see him and hold him. "He's in the nursery, I'll page the nurse so that she can bring him in."

I was nervous to see him or hold him. My stomach started doing flips and all. I had never held a baby unless they were like eight or nine months. "Stop fidgeting sweetie." My mom popped my hand. "What if he cries when I touch him? Or I drop him?" "Shut the hell up Britni you sound stupid."

"You don't have to be so mean." Before she could say anything back, the nurse was in with my son. "Here he is." She said placing him in my arms. "He should be ready to eat in a little while. When the time comes, I'll be back to show you how to properly breast feed."

Good because I'll be damned if they give my baby some milk that didn't come from me. I would have to turn this hospital out.

I looked down and just stared at baby Adonis. He was really light in color. I looked up and over at my mom. "He will get some color to his skin, he was just born four hours ago." She answered my unasked question.

"Hi Mommy's baby." I whispered while tracing his puffy cheeks. He continued to lay there unmoved and sleeping. "Mom, how much did he weigh and how long is he? I was so exhausted I couldn't stay awake after he popped out." He had to weigh a lot because I packed on pounds during the pregnancy and he just about killed my vagina.

"Eight pounds, six ounces and nineteen inches long." She said while yawning. "Mommy go home because I don't want you in here yawning around my baby spreading your germs." I held my hand up. "I'm about to go. Don should be back soon." She stood to leave and Junior woke up and started whining. My eyes went wide and I looked at my mom.

"He's hungry." Instead of the nurse coming to show me my mom did it. As soon as his mouth latched onto my nipple he went to work. It felt weird and a bit painful. "When you come home, I'll come by everyday for a week and help you out with my grandson. I can't believe I'm a grandmom." She shook her head.

"I can't believe I'm a mom." I said as my mom let a snort out. "Me either all your life you swore you were never having kids and then that damn nappy headed Adonis comes along and you're in a whole relationship and pregnant. I'm ready to start the wedding planning."

"Can I enjoy motherhood before planning a wedding? He hasn't even asked me to marry him and I doubt that he will anytime soon." My eyes rolled and I looked down to see that Junior was back to sleep but still latched on to my nipple. I removed him and his eyes popped open. It was then that I decided to take in his features so far.

He was really chubby like a cabbage patch doll and his hair seemed as if it would turn out curly and thick once it started to grow. I wouldn't dare say that he had a head full of hair he was just born for crying out loud. His lips were pouty sort of like mine and his nose was shaped like his father's.

What really got me was his eyes. They were almond shaped like mine but looked to be some type of blue-gray color. "Mommy, who has eyes this color or did they not get to their true color yet?" She peered over at Junior. "That's his color but nobody in our family has eyes like that."

A few minutes later Don came walking in with food. "I come bearing gifts." He said before leaning down to kiss me. I snatched the food up as Junior was in his little bassinet that the hospital offers. Don had french toast, bacon and eggs and he already had it drowned in syrup for me. "I'm leaving you two. I'll be up here later." My mom spoke before walking out the door.

The nurse came in because according to them it was changing time. I smiled as I watched Don change the diaper. He was going to be great at this. "You can stop staring at me." Don said while he held the baby in his arms. I just rolled them once and continued to stare at him. "He looks like me, don't he?" "Don, let him live a few days on this earth before you throw your ugly looks on my son. Plus it's too early to determine."

"I feel dirty I need a shower." I said more to myself than to Don. Paging the nurse to see about me getting clean ended up me in the shower but she had to help me. After all of my hygiene I felt like a brand new person. "Adonis, give me my baby." I held my hands out to a crying Junior and as soon as I touched him, the crying stopped.

"Aww he knows my touch!" I smiled and Don smacked his lips. "You've been carrying him for nine months, of course he knows your touch." My eyes turned into slits as I glared at him. "Just shut up. You mad because you couldn't get him quiet." He started to say something back but stopped once Ant and Mia came in.

"Let me see my nephew." Ant reached out but I shielded AJ. "No. Go wash your germy hands." Ant went and did so and came back. After thoroughly checking his hands I handed my son over. "Ten minute minimum of holding time." I told him. Mia started laughing. "You get two minutes if you wanted to hold him." She stopped laughing.

"You'll do the same when you guys have one. Twin give the girl a baby." I said. "Can't. She is on this crazy thing where she recently went to her church revival, she came over and told me no more sex until marriage. I can't even get a kiss with tongue unless I force it." He rolled his eyes making me giggle.

I mentally rolled my eyes at that. They had already had sex so why stop and say you're waiting until marriage? It's not like her hymen will reappear and she's a virgin on wedding night. "I guess." I mumbled. They stayed a while longer before leaving. "Did you call your family?" I asked Don. I didn't want Nana to be mad that she missed the birth the same way that she didn't know I was pregnant.

"Yeah, Nana flew in this morning. She's at the house cleaning up and preparing for you. My aunt and uncle are coming and Turq and Corey should be here soon." He ran it down. "I'm ready to go home." "Tomorrow." Don spoke.

We were silent for a minute. "B." I turned my head towards Don. "Thank you." He whispered. "You're welcome." My lips poked out for a kiss which he gave me. I wanted more but we were interrupted by guests. "Junior isn't even one and y'all trying to work on another?" Maleek said, Kyra and Marcus behind him.

"How you feeling Brit?" Ky asked. "I'm alright I'm ready to go home." My eyes started to close but the popped back open at Junior crying. "Check his diaper." I told Don. "It's dry. Is he hungry?" He looked at me. "I don't know! I fed him twice since he's been in here, won't I over feed him if he eats again?"

We were so confused at what to do and eventually called the nurse in who said it was fine to feed him. "Leek and Marcus you have to go until feeding time is over." I said to them. As soon as he started drinking my eyes closed once more and I was drifting off to sleep. Up once Junior was finished, I burped him and sent him back to the nursery. We both needed a break and some sleep.

Today was the day that I could go home with my baby. It was a long two days sitting in that boring hospital and that disgusting ass food, I wouldn't have been able to last in there one more day. "Don't drop my baby or I'll drop you." I told Don who was carrying Junior in the car seat. "Shut up Britni I got thi- ah." He pretended to drop the seat and I almost jumped from the wheelchair that was being pushed by one of the medical techs.

"Don't do that! I thought you really dropped him." I pouted and he was laughing. "It's not funny, you were about to get murked." "Yeah whatever girl." He sucked his teeth. "Make sure you put him in there securely." I said once we got to the car. Don turned, "Do you want to put him in or can I do this?" I just puffed my cheeks and blew out a breath before getting in the back seat.

When we got in the house Nana came rushing out the kitchen. "Let me see my great grandbaby." No hello or nothing. "Wait a second Nana, are your hands clean?" I pulled a bottle of hand sanitizer from my pocket. "These new moms get on my nerves." She mumbled snatching the bottle from my hands. "I love you, Nana." "Shut up." She pushed me and Don to the side and grabbed Junior from his seat.

"Hey Nana's baby! You so fat and handsome, yes you are!" She cooed. "Nana what did you cook?" Don asked her. She paused from her fussing, "I didn't cook for you, I cooked for Britni. Now if she wants to share then that's between you two." Don turned towards me and I smirked at him.

"Come on baby let me get some." Don begged me. "No. You almost dropped my baby." Nana had cooked me a pan of baked cajun shrimp alfredo with penne pasta, spinach, tomatoes and extra extra shrimp. "I was joking." He poked his bottom lip out and dropped his eyes a little. My eyes rolled up into my head. "Here man dang, can't have nothing when you're around." I pushed away from the table and got a plate and fork for him.

"Don't get too happy with your one serving either." I watched him dip the casserole onto the plate and once the bottom was covered, I stopped him. "That's enough." He looked at me and continued piling the food on. "Adonis, don't make me fight you." "Over food?" My head bobbed up and down. "Over food."

I wasn't playing with him. He was about to catch a serious beatdown in this kitchen. I had gone months without seafood besides a taste of it every now and again. I would hurt somebody over it right now. Junior's cry sounded from the living room and I jumped up and got him from Nana who was on her way to hand him over. "Calm down child." She laughed while passing him off. "I just changed him so either he wants you or he's hungry, that sounds like the hungry cry."

"How do you know the cries from the others?" I asked sitting back at the table. "They're all different. You'll learn them." I just nodded as I fed Junior. He was sucking with such a force that afterwards my nipples were extremely sore. "Here you go Daddy, go lay him down. I'm going to shower and get me a nap in." I said making my way up the stairs. "Make sure you turn that monitor on if you leave from the bedroom while I'm in the shower."

It was night fall when I woke up. I don't even remember getting in the bed or even the shower. I found Don in the living room with Junior. "Look Junior, Mommy's up. Now she's going to take you away from me." I shook my head. "I'm not taking him." There was a half full bottle on the coffee table. "How did you feed him? We haven't even opened bathe formula yet."

"I didn't want to bother you so I hooked that little breast pump thingy up. Boom, he got some milk. You didn't even feel a thing." Don said as I sat beside him and lay my head on his shoulder. "I'm tired." I mumbled. "Me too but you need more rest. Go back to bed." He kissed the top of my head.

"No." I mumbled. Maleek entered the room. "How about the both of you go to bed. Give me the baby, me and Nana got this." He reached for the baby. "Don't worry crazy, I just washed my hands."

"If he's wet change his diaper and if he cries feed him. Don't hold him too much Maleek." I threw at him. "Shut up, all I need you to do is pump some milk and bring his bassinet into the room with me. I know where his bedroom is so I can get diapers when I need them."

"Shit you don't have to tell me twice." Don said jumping up while I gave him a look. "Don't even look at me like that, we are going to enjoy having Nana and Leek here for these seven days. We won't really rest after this." I sat there with a frown on my face. I didn't want my baby with Nana or Leek, I wanted him with me. "Can't you just keep him for like a hour?" I asked. "Nope. I want to spend time with my godson." Maleek said. "Ugh fine. Let me see him for a second." I took Junior back.

"You won't be with Mommy tonight, I know you're going to miss me because I'll miss you. I'll be right down the hall so cry if you want me." "Britni come on." Don rushed me. "Can I please have a moment with my baby? Go on up I'll meet you." I focused back on Junior but he was now fast asleep so I gave him up to Leek who put him in his bassinet.

Going to the room, I pulled the breast pump out and filled four bottles. I had to make sure that there was enough for my baby through the night. Don stood in the door of the room watching me. "Does that hurt?" I shook my head. "It's a little annoying." I smiled as he stood there watching in awe.

Don was coming out of the shower when I came back in the room from taking the milk to Maleek. And I had ended up just staring at my baby as he slept, I didn't want to leave him again.
