The next morning, I was happy I was the one that woke up first. I tiptoed out of bed and silently found my way to the kitchen, wanting to make him breakfast like he had done for me many times on the island.

My surprise didn't work, though, because five minutes later, when coffee wasn't even done, mister already came walking into the kitchen. Looking hot as fuck, if I may add. Who looks that good in the morning? Not me for sure.

"Morning, babe." He walked over to me and gave me a small peck on my forehead while he slapped my ass and gave it a squeeze.

"Good morning," I replied. "What are you doing up already? I was going to bring you breakfast in bed. Now you ruined it."

"I missed you, babe."

"Oh my God, we're both so damn cheesy," I said, blushing like a teenager.

"Cheesy is good."

I smiled. "Sit there." I pointed at the kitchen table. "You want eggs?"

"Yeah."

"Fried or scrambled?"

"Whatever, you're having."

"Here," I said, putting a plate full of food in front of him.

"Wow, that looks good. And I'm starved."

"Hm, I wonder why..."

"Someone had me burn a lot of calories last night. And she seemed to enjoy it a lot, too." He wiggled his eyebrows at me a few times and smirked before taking a bite. He sure loved to brag about how he showed me a good time.

I rolled my eyes. "Pffff."

He chuckled. "Wanna buy a new phone today? It's Saturday."

"Yes, please. After breakfast, I'll text my sis and we can go."

"Also..." he started. "If you don't mind, I want to stay until Monday afternoon and then fly back. I don't have any classes on Monday and I kinda texted my colleague last night to swap shifts at the bar..." He bit his lip looking at me.

"I'd love that," I replied. "I wanted to open up my shop on Monday but it doesn't matter if it's going to be Tuesday instead. My clients have all read about me in the newspapers and on social media, and they're very kind and patient with me."

"Good." He sighed. "Will you show me your workspace today, too?"

"If you want that," I said. "It's upstairs." I took a bite.

"I do. I want to see everything that's in your life."

I smiled. "Okay."

"But I'm already bummed out thinking I'll have to go tomorrow," he pouted before taking a big bite.

"Stop pouting. Eat."

We finished breakfast.

"Let me do the dishes," Max said.

He stood up after collecting the plates and I stopped him, laying my hand on his arm. "Wait. I want to talk about something first."

He frowned and sat back down. "If it's about yesterday, I'm already cool with that--"

"It's not. It's actually about the future."

"Oh?" I saw him swallowing.

"Wait," I said, standing up and walking over to him where I planted my ass on his lap and wrapped my arms around his neck. "This is better." I smiled.

He kissed me, looking relieved. I didn't know what he thought I was going to say but he looked less nervous now. "What is it, Cas?" he asked.

"So, I know I always said we should take things slow and I still think we should, but... I've been doing some heavy thinking in the time between me kicking Henry out and you arriving here, and... I've realized that life can be over in a heartbeat. Just look at what happened on the ship. We could have been dead."

"But we live--"

"I know, Max. We live. And I'm so happy about that. And... I... I think I want to maybe rent a little place near you... That way, we will still take it slow, because it's not like I'm asking you to live together! It'll be like something in the middle. Until we know for sure we want to take the next step."

"Huh?" He looked at me, confused yet smiling.

"This house is mostly paid with money that my grandmother left me, so the mortgage is very low each month. Because of that, I have plenty of money to spend, so I can afford to rent a little place near you as a second home. I can even run my company from home there. I make chandeliers and jewelry, it's not like it needs a lot of space. I only need to buy an extra amount of supplies--"

Max put his finger on my mouth. "Slow down. You want to rent a place near me, but don't live with me?"

"Yeah... It'll be a place that I can go to so that we can be with each other if we want. And if I want to spend time with my family, I'll go back, and stay here for some time again. It's only a few hours flight, so I can sleep while traveling. We were planning on visiting each other anyway. This way, I can stay with you for longer, but you can also have your own life to live with school, work, and friends. And if I want to be with my friends, I'll go back for a week or so. Does that make sense?"

"I'd rather have you living with me..." He looked at me before brushing his lips against my nose.

"I know. But you're young, Max. I want you to live a little before being completely stuck with me. Come on, this is a good idea, no? I really want us to work and I think this is the best way for now." I let my hands run through his hair. "I know you think we will forever laugh but there will come days that you'll want to kill me."

"Never."

"You're nineteen. You should be on your own for a while," I said, even though Max was very mature for his age.

"I don't know..." He sighed. "Maybe you're right," he reluctantly replied.

"We can always move in with each other after a few years. Let's first do this and meet each other's family and all that. My family is dying to meet you."

"My mother wants to meet the woman of my dreams as well. She called you that way," he said.

"She did?" I asked.

"Hm. Cause it's true," he answered.

"My sister was already teasing me about what kind of toy she should buy you at the toyshop."

He scoffed. I smiled.

"I don't care what others think," he then replied.

"Me neither. But as punishment, I stepped on her foot. And she was in a lot of pain."

He chuckled. "I love you, Cas." It wasn't a planned I love you and I saw him biting his lip after he said the three magical words for the first time. "Uh--"

"I love you too," I said before I kissed him. "Sometimes a feeling of love never comes, even though someone is perfect, and sometimes it's there after a few days or weeks. And I always laughed at those kinds of dreamy people -- people that believe in love at first sight or want to marry someone after a day -- but I don't want to deny my own feelings. If I'm willing to move for you, I love you."

He hugged me so tightly, I almost couldn't breathe.

"Jesus, Max," I whined after he'd let go of me. "You don't have to break my back, man."

"I'm just happy. So happy that I could just crush you, eat you up, and crawl inside of you."

"Okay, that sounded kinda creepy," I said, giggling. "But I'm happy too."

He stood up, carrying me in his arms. "What are you going to do with me, Sir?"

"We're going to the bedroom."

"Again?" I asked. "You and your nineteen-year-old hormones will be the death of me any time soon."

"I'll take it slow. I want to please you. In fact, I'm going to make love to you now, Cassie."

I smiled, feeling happier than I'd felt in years. And even though our story began as a tragedy, it ended with something else.

Love.

Notes: Okay that end was super cheesy hahaha. I'm sorry, I wanted to end it soon after the island because I felt it lost its spark. I hope it was still fulfilling, though! This story was an experiment. I wanted to make a story with only two people in one spot. In the end, the last few chapters showed some more people and extra spots but I felt I needed to show something after the island too. So, I guess it is what it is.
