All Lily could hear was the music still bursting and the sound of her own heartbeat. She started to breathe heavily and tried to regulate it. That was one of the most embarrassing moments of her life and she was heartbroken that Cassie did not stick up for her. This was one thing she may never be able to shake off. She couldn't understand why Cassie was such a sheep.

Her thoughts were suddenly interrupted by someone slowly opening the bathroom door. Lily quickly wiped newly fresh tears from her eyes and prepared herself to leave. She turned around to see Nate shutting the door behind him.

'Hi' Nate said with a confused expression, 'What's wrong?'

Before she could respond, he answered his own question...kind of.

'Did Josh say something?' he asked with a stern tone

'It's nothing' Lily said as she began to lean against the bathroom sink

'Then why are you crying?' he asked with a subtle chuckle

'I'm not crying' Lily said with tears falling down her face, 'Can you just go!'

'What?' Nate questioned her and also said, 'I'm not leaving when you're crying in the bathroom'

This made Lily's heart fly straight out of her chest. She didn't want to admit this but her heart was currently going skydiving over Nate Jacobs.

'Cassie is just being a bitch' Lily said bluntly, 'Her and Mckay just talk shit about me... I know it'

'Yeah probably' Nate agreed as he watched Lily's expression quickly change to anger, 'He talks shit about everyone'

Nate watched her slightly change her angry expression and said, 'Look don't worry about them. Mckay just wants people to adore him, but doesn't really care who he has to hurt'

This took Lily by surprise as she always thought him and Mckay were close.

'I thought you guys were friends?' Lily asked as she crossed her arms over her chest

'We are' Nate corrected her, 'But I know Mckay. He's got a mean side'

'Yes so does his girlfriend' Lily choked out as she could feel the tears coming up again, 'I just don't really want to talk about this'

Nate nodded simply as she trailed on, 'With you. I don't want to talk about this with you'

This now took Nate back by surprise. He thought that they were okay after the Halloween party.

'Look I don't know what I have done to make you upset, but whatever people have told you they are fucking lying' Nate said sternly

At this moment, Lily knew he was referring to Jules and Lexi. Possibly Cassie as well.

'Who's they?' Lily asked

'Just your friends' he said simply, 'I know they don't like me'

'Why do you care if they do or not' Lily asked back at him

'I don't really' Nate said simply once again, 'I just don't like people lying about me'

Lily shook her head and explained, 'No one has talked about you. Not to me at least'

This was a lie. A burning lie that Nate could tell by looking at her playing with her fingers.

'Right' Nate smirked and decided not to continue on with that question, 'I got this for you'

Suddenly, Nate reached over into his jacket pocket and pulled out a small can of Pink Lemonade mixed with vodka.

'Where did you find this?' Lily asked as she grabbed the drink off of him

'I found it laying around' Nate responded, 'Thought you would be thirsty'

Lily looked down at the drink and remembered a conversation she had. A conversation about how much she loved Pink Lemonade and how her dad used to buy three bottles every Sunday night for Lily and her sisters. But after he left them, she never felt the need to reach for it at the supermarket anymore.Β

'Sorry' Lily started, 'It just reminded me of something'

Nate nodded as he took a sip of his beer. Lily took this time to turn around and look at herself in the mirror. She truly looked like a mess and her blue dress didn't help. The blue was definitely bringing out the redness in her eyes and the slight damage to her makeup.

'Thank you though' Lily said as she opened her can of drink, 'I don't usually like vodka but I'll drink it'

'But you said it was your favourite drink?' Nate chuckled as he took another sip of his beer

Lily was about to agree with him, but suddenly she felt uneasy. How would he know this?

'I never said it was my favourite drink' Lily slowly corrected him

Nate slowly looked up at her with his poker face. She breathed in sharply as she waited for his response.

'I just assumed that you would like it' Nate went on, 'I'm not some weird stalker that knows all of your secrets'

Lily stood back and watched him place his empty beer bottle onto the floor. She watched him as he sat on the edge of the bathtub. He was looking up at her, which was a pleasant change.

'I didn't call you a stalker' Lily corrected, 'It's just a coincidence'

'Coincidence?' Nate asked with a chuckle, 'It's not that weird'

'I guess so' Lily said softly as she turned back around to face the mirror, 'I should probably go find Lexi. I may just go home'

'Home?' Nate asked confused, 'Why would you leave? It's only 9:30?'

'I'm just not feeling it' Lily explained, 'I can't go back out there'

'Why not?' Nate asked

'Cassie is just awful to me and so is McKay' Lily felt her voice begin to crack, 'And Jessica and Josh were just laughing at me'

'What did you say to them?' Nate asked as he struggled to get comfortable on the edge of bath

'I just told them that they need to stop looking at me and making me feel uncomfortable' Lily explained, 'They are just so fucking rude'

Nate nodded simply and said, 'Josh is a cockhead'

Lily laughed a little at the way he said 'cockhead'.

'I like your dress by the way' Nate said softly, 'Blue suits you'

'Thank you' Lily smiled as she tugged at the bottom of the short dress, 'It's Cassie's'

'Suits you better' Nate said simply as he slowly looked her up and down

The looks Nate began to give her made her a little dizzy and butterflies started to build up. She couldn't believe she allowed Nate to make her feel this way.

'I wasn't even going to come tonight' Nate started again

'Why did you come then?' Lily asked as she agreed with his standpoint.

She didn't want to come either and she wished that she followed her gut.

'I wanted to speak to you' Nate said softly with a blunt tone, 'I don't know if this is the right moment to talk about this...'

'What's going on?' Lily asked him quite confused

She watched intensely as Nate stood up from the edge of the bathtub. He stood in front of her now with his hands roughly playing with his hair. Lily could feel his stress and anxiety oozing out of him.

'Did you really think Josh was the one talking to you on Cupid?' Nate asked with a blunt tone again

However, before Lily could answer his question, he answered his own question.

'It wasn't Josh' Nate explained softly, 'It was me'Β
