We made our way back to the house to get ready and he took a shower first, saying that he had to finish up some urgent pack business but would meet me in our room once I was done changing.

I couldn't hold back my smile, I was drunk on excitement and happiness. I could barely breathe with all the butterflies in my stomach.

I shifted through my closet looking for something suitable to wear. I didn't have much experience when it came to dressing up but when I stumbled upon a lavender blouse and a pair of skinny jeans, I knew it was the right outfit. It was simple in case we were going to move around a lot but it was cute enough for a date.

The blouse exposed my arms, but I knew I had no reason to worry about my scars around Levi since he had seen most of them save for the ones on my torso and he never really paid any attention to them, saying that I was more than the scars on my skin.

Levi finished showering and came out wearing a grey button-up shirt and jeans. The shirt hugged his massive figure and he smiled once he saw my gaping expression. He went over to kiss me on the forehead before leaving, closing the door behind him.

I quickly showered, washing away all of the sweat and dirt that clung to my skin. I relaxed under the soothing spray of the water as it pounded against my aching muscles. I dried off and slipped on the outfit, not bothering to style my hair. I avoided the mirror like always and took a breath, opening the door to see a grinning Levi.

Levi's eyes were sparkling as he gazed at me. I could see the stars in his eyes twinkling as he smiled. "Goddess, Rain, you're breathtaking."

He lifted a hand to cup my cheek but I froze. My heart stopped in my chest and the familiar rush of fear I felt at the thought of Levi being in danger began filling my veins. "W-what? Are you okay? Can you breathe?" My hands shook as I began pacing and I was choking on my panic at the thought of losing him. An idea came to mind and despite the protests from my sore muscles, I sprinted towards the kitchen, leaving Levi behind who was staring at me with a confused expression.

Determination flooded my body and I threw open one of the cabinets to grasp the object I was searching for, a straw. I ran back to where Levi was still standing in our room. I figured he was probably in shock and I started to tremble as I muttered, "You'll be okay, Levi. Just breathe with me."

I shoved one end of the straw between his lips and put my mouth over the other end before blowing furiously, hoping Levi would finally be able to breathe.

Levi broke away laughing, grabbing the straw and letting it fall to the ground. My chest ached with anxiousness and tears began filling my eyes. "A-are you feeling better now? C-can you breathe?"

He was gasping for air by the time he finished laughing and that only made me more worried. I was concerned he had worsened his condition but he quickly sobered up and said, "Rain, I appreciate the gesture but if you want to help me breathe, why don't you try this next time?"

Levi stepped closer to me and my eyes widened as his face neared mine until he was close enough that I could feel his breath fanning across my cheeks and his nose brushed against my own. His soft eyes searched my face before he grabbed the back of my head and crushed his lips to mine. The tears dripping down my face were long forgotten and all I could focus on was him.

He was soft. So so soft and I wondered how I had ever survived without knowing the taste of him. I reached up to pull him closer, tangling my fingers in his hair, burning from the heat of his fingertips pressing against my back through the thin fabric of my blouse.

His name was tattooed on my lungs and there was not enough air on this planet to replace the oxygen he stole from me. He was everywhere and I couldn't run fast enough to get away.

Levi pulled away from me and pressed his forehead against mine. Both of us were panting and he brushed his thumb over my swollen lips. A blush crept over my face as he leaned over and whispered into the shell of my ear, "If I was able to choose how I wanted to die, this right here with you in my arms and your lips pressed against mine would be the best final moments of my life."

He stood up and tilted my flushed face towards his, a crooked smile gracing his lips. "Hmm, I don't think I can breathe quite yet. Let's try again." And with that, his lips were on mine.
