The next morning when I wake up in Dane's arms I feel I am where I'm supposed to be.

I was laying there looking at the ceiling when the doorbell was ringing like mad.

Dane jumped up. "What in the hell?"

"It's probably Vella. I'm going to get dressed and check on Kayden while you take care of that."

I watched Dane jumping into his jeans he had on last night and grabbed a shirt as he ran down the steps.

As soon as I got to the top of the stairs I saw him open the door and Vella was standing there.

Kayden begin crying and I rushed into his room and over to his bed. "What's wrong Punkin?" I said lifting him up in my arms cradling him.

I could hear Dane downstairs shouting at Vella and so I closed Kaydens door and went sit in the rocker and breastfed him.

I changed his diaper and put some clothes on him for the day because we needed to get ready for work.

When I walked downstairs with Kayden Dane was slamming the front door.

"The nerve of that woman." He said running his fingers through his hair.

"I told you she came in hot yesterday," I said rolling my eyes.

"I don't think she will be back but I better go get dressed for work." He said.

"I'm going to grab a breakfast bar before heading to take Kayden to your mom."

Dane walked over to where I was. "Sounds good and I'll see you at work."

"Sounds good Dane." I smiled up at him as he leaned down and kissed my lips before kissing the top of Kaydens head.

I waited for him to come back down and he kissed me again before we headed out to our own vehicles.

I dropped Kayden off at Kay's and headed to work where dad and Dane were already there.

I really hope that dad can't tell what we did last night because I can't stop thinking about it.

As soon as I walked in Dad hollered for me to come to his office.

"What's up dad?"

"Sit down Pria I need to talk to you a minute."

I sit down and straighten out my skirt. "So what is it?

"I have broke things off with Eliza. I found out that she had been stealing money from me."

"How in the world did she do that?"

"You know I have a special place that I hide a little money not the safe."

"Oh yeah and I guess she saw you remove money from it?"

"Apparently so and when I confronted her when she showed up last night she blamed you for stealing it." He said.

"Me? I haven't even stayed at home in so long I think I need to move my stuff to Dane's since I have my own room."

"I told her I would sue her and she started crying saying she stole it because she really needed a pair of red bottom shoes."

"Oh, good grief! I told you dad that she was a gold digger."

"I know you did and I looked past it because I was lonely." He said.

"I'm sorry dad. I'm sure you will find someone else soon."

"I actually have a date tonight."

"I knew you wouldn't be down long. Well, I need to go pull some files. Love you, dad."

"I love you too sweetie!"

I walked back to my desk and smiled because Eliza was gone and I wanted to dance but I'll wait until I'm in the file room.

I set my stuff down and passed Dane's room where I saw him on the phone and I smiled before going to the file room.

I started dancing a jig and when I looked up Dane was standing there.

"God Dane! You scared me." I said clutching my chest.

"Why are you dancing Pria?"

"Dad just told me he broke it off with Eliza. She was stealing money from him and well she blamed me."

"She's gone? And she what? You haven't even been home for any of that." He said.

"Yeah I know because I spend all of my time with you and Kayden." I smiled.

He looked out the door and then walked over to where I was and pulled me in for a kiss.

"It's fun keeping secrets," I said to him.

"Makes things more exciting. I just hope it doesn't mess up your relationship with Sofia."

"Shit Sof. I need to tell her. Maybe I should invite her out to eat or over for pizza or something."

"Yeah, I can watch Kayden if you want to go out with her or even take her on the back patio for drinks."

"I can't do drinks and breastfeed so maybe I can make some mocktails of some kind. Any files you need before I go text her?"

"Umm I don't have them gathered yet but I'll go do that now." He said pecking my lips.

I sit down at my desk and grab my phone.

📱 Sof! Mocktails tonight at Dane's? We need to catch up.

📱 Yessss girl I'll be there after work.

I walked back to Dane's office and got his notes of what files he needed and told him that Sof is coming over after work.

Once work was over I went home to make the mocktails while Dane went to his parents to pick up Kayden.

I usually get him but I wanted to get things ready for later. Sof is my best friend and has been through so much with me but I'm nervous because this is her brother and we have never crossed any kind of line before.

When Dane walked in with Kayden I took him and cuddled him in my arms and kissed his face before taking him upstairs to nurse before Sof arrived.
