I can't even focus today because all I can think about are Danes lips on mine and how much I liked it.

By the time I locked up and went picked up Kayden I was tired. I had just fed and burped him when the doorbell went off.

I opened the door and there stood a woman that resembled Angie. "Hi, can I help you?"

"Who are you and where is Dane?" She asked.

"Your on my doorstep so who are you?"

"Your doorstep? I thought Dane Cresswell lived here?"

"He does but I live here as well now who are you before I shut the door in your face."

"Well, I can see he moved on fast after Angie's death and knocked you up." She said crossing her arms.

"I am so sick and tired of people assuming and you what assuming makes you look like? An ass and I'm also guessing your Vella."

"I am Vella Angie's older sister and well I see Dane moved on fast."

"I'll tell you one thing it's really none of your business but I happen to be his sister Sofia's best friend and I was Angie and Dane's surrogate. This is your nephew Kayden."

"Oh, I had no idea. Why didn't she tell me?"

"Oh maybe because you're a bitch?" I said ready to shut the door in her face.

"I have rights to him!" She yelled.

"You have jack shit. My dad is a lawyer and I work in his office with him and Dane I know about the law and rights and you don't have a leg to stand on so I suggest you step off the property and leave." I said slamming the door in her face.

I took Kayden upstairs and laid him down and walked to the kitchen for water when the front door opened.

If steam could come out of my ears it would be.

"Hey what's wrong?"

"Vella that's what's wrong and I look for her to come back after I gave her a mouthful and slammed the door in her face."

Dane laughed... "Really? I hate I missed it."

"Well I didn't video it but I recorded it in case I need it. I mean I do live with a lawyer." I laughed handing him my phone to listen.

"Oh she was mad but you gave it to her." He laughed.

"I'm sure she will come back, Dane. I don't think that's the last we have seen of her and well if she can act like a normal human being then she can visit with Kayden." I said.

"I want to be here if that happens because I have never liked her or trusted her. She and Angie didn't even get along." He said sitting on the bar stool loosening his tie.

"So how did court go?"

"It went. I mean we won and the lady didn't get what she wanted and stomped out." He smiled.

I'm not sure why he looks so sexy when he loosens his tie off of his neck and unbuttons the top of his shirt.

"I made some homemade chicken noodle soup. It was my mom's recipe."

"Smells good. Let me go upstairs and change. Want me to check on Kayden?"

"Sure bring him down if he is awake," I said scooping out bowls of soup.

"Be right back."

I turned around and watched him walk out of the kitchen and couldn't help but smile.

I moved the bowls over to the bar and grabbed a few drinks when Dane walked back into the room holding Kayden.

"He was laying in the bed awake so I thought he might want to join us."

"He's probably hungry and I can feed him while we eat if you wouldn't mind getting my cover-up off of the bassinet."

"I can do that." He said handing me Kayden.

"Are you hungry? Yeah, you are." I baby-talked him.

Dane came back down and draped it over my shoulder and I helped Kayden get fixed before picking up my spoon to eat.

"I don't know how you can eat and nurse at the same time."

"It's part of being a mom I guess," I said before realizing what I said. "Oh, Dane I'm so sorry."

"Don't be you are his mom in every sense of the word and all he will ever know as a mom is you." He smiled.

"I never want to take Angie's place."

"You aren't so don't worry about it and when Kayden calls you mom I won't be offended." He smiled.

"I'm glad you won't because if I'm staying around he will call me that," I said.

"I can't wait to hear his first words." He smiled eating his soup.

Kayden finished nursing and I put him on my shoulder to burp him.

"This soup is really good Pria."

"I'm glad you like it. Sometimes when I miss my mom I like to make her soup. Sounds silly but it feels like she's close to me."

"I remember your mom she was the sweetest and she would make those peanut butter balls and bring them over." He smiled.

"I can make those too." I smiled.

"No way?" He grinned.

"Oh yes, I can. White chocolate, peanut butter, and butterscotch ones. One day you will have to make them with me." I smiled.

"It's a date." He smiled and then his eyes got big.

"A date huh?" I grinned.

"If you want it to be. I mean we are circling the elephant in the room about our kiss Pria."

"Yeah, we haven't talked about it. Let me get Kayden to sleep for the night and we can talk."

I took Kayden upstairs and diapered him and rocked him to sleep before going back downstairs.

I walked into the living room and found Dane sitting on the couch drinking a beer.

"Want to go sit on the patio? I have the baby monitor and Kayden is now asleep."

"Sure let me grab a drink and I'll be right out." I smiled at him.
