We had been home with Kayden for a couple of weeks now and we were getting the hang of this parenting thing.

I needed to take Kayden to a checkup and Dane was in court all day and couldn't go.

I signed in and took a seat with Kayden in the carrier. A few women were sitting and I could hear them whispering about me and I couldn't take much more.

"I'll have you know I can hear the both of you running your mouth and you should get your facts straight. I was the surrogate to this baby and his mother was killed in a car crash and I'm doing the right thing by taking care of him."

The one lady gasped. "I'm sorry I didn't know. Word around town is you slept with Mr. Cresswell and got knocked up."

"Well, you should spread the truth around for once and get your facts straight," I said as the nurse called my name.

I got up and headed into the room with Kayden and took him out of the carrier.

"It's ok we won't let what those women said affect us. You will know how much your momma loved you and that's what is important."

Dr. Jessup walked in and smiled when he saw me cuddling Kayden. "Why hello there! How's it going Pria?"

"It's going Dr. Jessup. But we are getting the hang of it."

"How is Kayden latching on?"

"Oh, he eats like a pig." I smiled down at him.

"How about Dane?"

"Well, that's another story. He can't watch me breastfeed but he's getting the hang of being a dad but it's still just so hard without Angie."

"Well I couldn't imagine but I know he is thankful he has you." He smiled.

"Well, I wouldn't just leave him alone to take care of Kayden. We are helping each other."

"That's good! Alright, let's put him on the table and let me check him out."

I laid Kayden down and watched as Dr. Jessup checked him all over. "Well, he looks great so keep doing what you are doing."

"Thank you Dr. Jessup I appreciate everything you have done and we shall see you soon." I smiled picking Kayden back up kissing his face and then putting him back in his carrier.

I made an appointment to come back in a few months and then headed out to my car.

Getting a carrier in the back of a two-door Camaro is a pain in the asshole. If I ever have kids I need a different car for sure.

I decide to head to the office and take Kayden to see his daddy in action if he's back at the office by now and of course, he gets to see my dad who I'm not sure if he's grandpa or what.

I walked in and went toward Dane's office and when I knocked on the door and opened it he was staring at his laptop but smiled when he saw me.

"Wow, my favorite two people. How did his appointment go?"

"It went great and he gained a few ounces but all in all he is doing good." I smiled.

I took Kayden out of his carrier and put him in Dane's arms. "Check out his shirt."

"My hero is my daddy... Well, isn't that a cute outfit? Where did it come from?"

"Sof bought it for him." I smiled.

Dad come walking up the hall and stopped. "Well look at him. He's getting so big already."

"Hi, dad! We just wanted to stop by after his doctor appointment."

"Well, I'm glad you did. Care if I hold him, Dane?"

"Sure Simon be my guest," Dane said handing him off to dad telling him to watch his head.

"It's been a long time since I held a baby." Dad smiled.

The bell jingled over the door and dad stepped out to see who it was.

"Eww Simey, why are you holding that?"

"Eliza that is no way to speak about my honorary grandson," Dad said.

I looked over at Dane and he looked back at me and made a face mocking Eliza.

"Well, I'm leaving if you're going to continue to hold that." She huffed.

"Bye, then Eliza," Dad said turning back into the room smiling at us.

"Please dad says that you are done with that gold digger."

"I think she just put a nail in the coffin. I love seeing this little guy grow and if someday he wants to call me grandpa I'm ok with that too."

"Oh, dad you're getting soft on us." I laughed.

"That's nice of you Simon. I'm sure my son will love having you as a grandpa just like my dad." Dane said.

Dane helped me to get Kayden back into my car and as soon as we got home he was cranky so I took him upstairs and changed his diaper and then he nursed until he fell asleep.

I put him in his crib and went to my room to change clothes and order some food before Dane got home.

Around 5:30 Dane walked in and put his briefcase down. "Hey, where is Kayden?"

"Asleep. He was cranky coming home so I diapered him and fed him and he's out." I said shaking the monitor.

"I'm going to go get this monkey suit off and I'll be back down." He said.

I watched him walk up the steps and well I'd be blind if I didn't notice his ass in those slacks. Dane is very attractive but I wouldn't act on it. I mean come on he's still a grieving husband and now he's someone's father.

Wow, someone's father. He has a hot dad bod and he's definitely a DILF. Omg stop that Pria and just focus on something else.

When he came back down in grey sweat pants I almost fainted. Don't look at his crotch Pria what is wrong with you.

"Why are you smirking?" He asked sitting down on the couch.

"Just thinking about Eliza and how I hope she gets the boot finally." I smiled.
