I rapped along to the Chief Keef song as I got out of the shower. After Trey dropped me off earlier I took a nap and cleaned up around Korie's house. Cleaning was what I did to take my mind off of things.

Korie had been locked up in his room since he opened the door for me. I've tried to talk to him a couple times but he would just tell me to leave him alone.

I had looked around for Lyric but when I didn't find her I figured she was with her babysitter or with Carmen.

After putting on my clothes and straightening my hair, I went into the kitchen to find something to eat.

Ohhhh great, a whole bunch of nothing.

"Korie!" I yelled as if my soft voice could be heard from the kitchen downstairs all the way to his room upstairs.

I groaned as I walked up the long stair case and approached Korie's door.

"Korie open the fucking door," I said knocking, "What happened? You goin' through a breakup or somethin'?"

Standing with my hands on my hips I still heard nothing from the other side of the door.

"Korie!" I yelled as I kicked the door and banged on it as hard as I could with my fist.

"What?!" He yelled breathing down on me after the door swung open.

"What's your problem?" I asked putting all of my weight on one leg.

"Did you need something? Because I'm pretty busy?"

"Too busy to even speak to me Korie? I'm hungry and there is nothing to eat. I don't have my car so it's not like I can drive myself to get some food."

He pinched the bridge of his nose before taking a deep breath.

"D..." he started but didn't say anything.

"You know what? Forget I even said anything." I said walking away.

"She gone Dijah," he sniffed as tears rolled down his face, "they took my baby, they took Lyric." He cried as he slid down the wall in his hallway.

A confused look played across my face as I bent down and placed my hand on his shoulder.

"What? Who is they? Who took her?"

It took a while for him to explain to me what happened but he told me everything.

"So Mo went and pretended to be me, so they took her....thinking it was me." I asked trying to make sure I understood everything.

He nodded his head.

"And now they have Lyric...and Carmen is the one who handed her off to them...and now she claims that Monique, my best friend, planned this whole thing out."

"Mhmm," Korie hummed.

"Okay I'm sorry to say this, but you're dumber than you look if you think Monique set this up." I said tilting my head to the side rolling my eyes in disbelief.

"You know what D at this point I don't know who did what but I gotta get my baby back. And I won't stop until I do. I'll knock 'em down one by one, starting with Mo cause I should've stuck with my first mind. I knew I couldn't trust that girl." He said pointing his finger.

"I understand but I don't believe Mo did this, but Carmen seemed sketchy from jump." I said bouncing my leg up and down.

As I sat in deep thought I heard a door close upstairs, I looked at Korie confused as I pointed up.

"Oh yeah, Lyric's babysitter is living with me now."

"Boy I almost pissed my damn pants."

"Marlene it's somebody I want you to meet." Korie yelled causing a lump to form in my throat.

"Did he just say Marlene?"
"It couldn't be the same one."
"I'm trippin'."
"This has to be a coincidence."

Where all the things running through my head at once.

I sat there nervous as the person made their way down the steps, every step had me on the edge of my seat.

When she came in to view a bunch of emotions took over my body.

She stood there for a second before she realized who I was and that's when the waterworks came.

"This isn't real, this isn't real." I repeated as I wiped my eyes and ran my hands through my hair.

Before I knew it I was running up the steps as she had her hand over her mouth. She had the audacity to be crying when her and her husbands are the ones who put me through hell.

I popped her in her face one good time before I was yanked off of my feet and brought back down the steps.

"What the fuck is goin' on with you man?" Korie said as he trapped me against the front door.

My gaze never broke from Marlene's as she sat on the steps crying.

"This is Lyric's babysitter!" I yelled not being able to hold my tears.

I was scared for what might've happened to Lyric while she was at their house. I was scared that what they put me through was what poor Lyric had to endure also.

"Yeah, why are you so hyped?"

"Marlene! This is Marlene! This is my adoptive mom, and her husband Gerald is the one who raped me. You have Lyric staying with criminals!"

"What?" Korie let go of me and slowly turned to Marlene as he shook his head in disbelief.

"I swear I didn't know Khadijah was your sister. I swear to my dear Lord. Oh Jesus help me." She sobbed.

Korie walked up the stairs with tears in his eyes as he grabbed Marlene by her shirt and pulled her down the steps, her feet barely able to keep up.

"What did you do bitch?!" He asked while he still had a grip on her shirt holding her up against the wall.

"I didn't do anything I swear!" She cried louder.

I knew Korie wouldn't hit her, it just wasn't in him. As angry as he got I knew he wouldn't put his hands on a woman because he witnessed what our mom went through with our dad.

"Imma kill you." He let her shirt go and she fell to the ground. "When I get my daughter back, you good as gone." He walked to the door since someone had rang the doorbell.

Opening the door a pissed off Trey came in.

"Why you ain't answering the phone," he looked around, "who is this? And why everybody cryin'?"

Korie gave Trey the rundown and soon he had his gun cocked aimed at Marlene's head. I knew if she didn't explain herself good and fast Trey would blow her head off with no hesitation.

"I'm telling you I had nothing to do with any of this. I really didn't, I love Lyric as my own grand daughter I would never do anything to hurt her. When have you ever heard Lyric say I did wrong by her? She would never want to come to my house! There were times when she cried because she wanted to stay the night but you told her she had to come home." She cried now standing up. "What child would do that if they were being hurt?"

Korie took a long deep breath as he stared Marlene and then he looked at me.

"Why'd you do it to my sister?"

"Yeah why did you? It was times when she couldn't sleep at night because she had nightmares about y'all. It was times where she got so depressed she wanted to end her life. You better hope I let the Lord deal with you because right now I'm thinkin' about lettin' two hot ones in ya damn head." Trey said still having a tight grip on his gun.

I took the gun from him and sat it on the end table by the door.

Marlene turned to me before tears ran down her face again.

"Khadijah, I'm so sorry. I wasn't able to have Gerald's kids so we settled on adoption. He wasn't too happy because he wanted kids of his own, but we agreed to just try it out. I truly did fall in love when I first met you but then the love turned to hate as I watched my husband watch you. I knew it was wrong but I didn't care. I loved that man with everything in me and it's true love does make you do crazy things." She stopped and looked to me but I looked everywhere but at her. "I guess he was angry because you weren't his biologically and that's what he wanted. He eventually started to lust over you and do harmful things to you and I picked up on his habits. It sounds crazy I know but eventually he started showing me more attention since I was treating you the way he did. I-" I cut her off by putting my hands up because I didn't want to hear anymore.

"I've always thought about what I would do if I came across you and Gerald again. Once I said I would tie y'all up and feed y'all to some blood hungry dogs." I stopped and laughed. "But I said nah, that's too easy. So then I thought maybe I would saw off your limbs one by one. Or maybe skin you alive." I stepped closer to her as fear took over in her face.

I put my hands around her neck and slowly tightened my grip as I looked into her eyes, she was trying to pry my hands off but I wasn't letting go. Her eyes began to drift to the back of her head and I wanted so badly to let her die, but I knew if that happened I probably wouldn't see my niece or my best friend again. I released my grip from around her neck as she fell to the floor gasping for air.

I bent down to her level, "I don't give a fuck if you had something to do with it or not, you better find my people or I'll put all those thoughts I had into action. I stood up and looked at Korie and Trey who had a surprised look on their face.

"Yeah I said it. Get this bitch out of my sight before I change my mind on letting her live," I turned and looked at her as she stared at me with pleading eyes, "for now."
