Raine
Chapter 144
Thanksgiving 2009

"I got ya right ," I said and placed my hand ontop of Thrills helmet.

"I got ya left," Banks said and placed his hand on top of mines.

"I got ya left," I said and placed my hand on top of Banks helmet.

"And I got ya right," Thrill said and placed his hand on top of mines.

"I got ya left," Thrillkill said and slapped his hand on my helmet.

"And I got ya right," Banks said and smiled as he placed his hand on top of Kills.

"Rangers lead the way!" We yelled as we exited the humvee.

We were out on a mission. It was a search and rescue type of  thing. Banks was 5'10 smooth dark chocolate skin and brown eyes. He looked us and nodded his head. We nodded ours and I took of to the abandoned building with my guy Train.

We jogged up the stairs and I found a broken window with a great view to set up.

"I hate these missions Major," he said as he sat next to me and handed me a cigarette.

"Your not the only one," I said as I lit the cigarette and handed it back to him.

"We always getting sent to bring someone or something back," he said in his thick Jersey accent.

Train was one of those guys you see on that show Jersey Shore. Just not as ridiculous. I laughed and laid down on my stomach.

"Yeah Jersey we do get fucked," I said as I looked out of the scoop.

"Hey Jersey and South Carolina," I heard Holmes enter.

"Yeah half and half," Jersey said and laughed.

"Man stop that shit. I'm all nigga," he said.

"Mixed with white," I mumbled as I watched Banks and the rest split up as they approached the building that was across from me.

"Whatever. Banks and Thrill said be ready," I nodded and inhaled the rolled cigarette.

"Show time!" Jersey said as he got into position.

"Serve and protect," Holmes said as I heard him take his weapon off safety.

I pulled the trigger. I took out one on the left. I pulled the hammer back and get my baby ready to go again.

"23:00 hours closing fast," Jersey said.

I quickly turn Bettsy to the left. I said a little prayer and another headshot. I licked my lips as Jersey kept giving me coordinates of the targets.

"Nooooo!" I yelled as I watched Banks take a bullet straight to the stomach.

I growled and looked around in the scoop to see who had shoot my battle buddy. I quickly found the shooter. He was up in a bell tower.

"May God guide my bullet. To get rid of all evil and those who hurt people around me," I said as I bit my lip. I aimed straight for his scope and pulled the trigger.

"Amen," I said as I watched his body fall.

I quickly disable my rifle and grabbed my side arm and knife. I knew our position was comprised.

"Here they come!" Holmes yelled.

I let out a low growl as they came rushing in. Holmes was taking them out and so was Jersey. I raised my pistol and started firing. Hitting all head shots. Once I was out of bullets I place my gun back in its holster and reached down in my boot and grabbed Lucy. My field knife. I smirked and twirled  Lucy and Lucky around in my hands. My pops gave me lucky before I got deployed.

I watched as they ran up on me. I stabbed two in the neck. I looked over and saw Jersey about to get shot. I grabbed Lucy and threw it straight through the guy skull as Jersey let a couple rounds off.

"All Clear!" Holmes yelled.

I ran over and grabbed my knife out of the guys head. I wiped the blood on his shirt and placed it back in its spot. The holder strapped to my ankle. I ran out the building and towards Banks. I slid to him and quickly placed his head in my lap. I frantically grabbed some sand and placed it over the womb. I watched as he coughed up blood.

"You had my left right?" He asked me as he choked.

"I did," I said as I added pressure onto his stomach.

"Hey Major if I don't make it promise you gonna toke that blunt with somebody special," he said as tears poured down his face.

"Naw bruh we gonna smoke this shit together," I said.

I bit my lip as he grabbed the back of my neck. He placed his forehead against mines. I felt the tears fall from my face.

"Did you get him?" He asked.

"Bell tower to your right," I mumbled.

"Well shit," he said and chuckled.

I laughed too.

"Major. You are like my little sister. I'm always gonna watch you. So when you get out make me proud. Fuck all that negative shit. It's some good things coming your way Stormy," he said.

"You gonna make it Banks," I said and pulled him closer.

"Storm! Banks!" Thrill yelled as he ran over to us.

I watched as he tossed off his helmet and slid next to us. He had tears streaming down his face.

"No Banks! We gonna fix this okay?" He said as he started to apply pressure.

I stood up and let them have their alone time. I took off my helmet and tossed it to the side. I knew he wasn't gonna make it and that we had to keep moving. We were now pin downed. It was getting dark and we were on their territory.

"We have incoming!" somebody yelled.

I cracked my neck and pulled myself together. I felt Thrill place his hand on top of my head.

"I got your left," he said.

"I got your right," I said and grabbed his head.

Before I knew it we were surrounded and last thing I remember was being on top of a roof with my sniper rifle. I looked down at my hands and saw I had Banks tags in my hand. I looked to my left and saw Thrill firing his flare as a helicopter flew over us. I grabbed my head as I remember us leaving the hot zone. I remember me and Thrill dragging Banks someplace safe. And me ripping of his tags before he hung his head and closed his eyes.

"Let's go storm!" Thrill yelled at me.

I snapped out of my thoughts and grabbed my gear and headed for the chopper. I got on and sat next to Thrill and Jersey.

"Let's go back to base. Mission was a success," captain said.

I laughed and looked over at the group of unknowns we have saved. We lost one good guy to save a bunch of people I could careless about.

"I hate search and rescue," I mumbled.

"Me too," Thrills hoarse voice came out as he laid his head on my shoulder.

I sighed and rested my head on top of Thrills.
