Gracie ~

It took exactly two drinks and one shot at Lucky's to work up the courage to show up at Wes' party after my run in with Trisha and I may or may not have polished those off in a matter of fifteen minutes.

I usually didn't drink that much in such a short period of time, but I needed the liquid courage. I hated causing drama or walking into a situation where I knew there would be conflict, but I couldn't let her get away with what she said and I just knew she'd be all over Wes once she got there.

Maggie and Mandy were completely on board and were two drinks ahead of me which probably wasn't the greatest idea, but we ubered over to the house anyway, ready to put Trisha in her place.

Blake was in the front yard shotgunning beers with a few of his friends as soon as we pulled up and practically lifted Mandy off the ground when he hugged her.

He cupped her face so he could look into her eyes. "A little tipsy aren't ya?" He scoffed before giving her another hug.

"Screw you." Mandy said with a flirty grin.

Cuties.

"You guys want one?" Blake asked us, opening up a cooler.

One more couldn't hurt.

I took a beer from the cooler and quickly started to chug the contents as I entered the house, scanning the crowd of people for Trisha's face.

"I don't see her." I said to Mandy who was glaring into the sea of people.

"Me either."

"Maybe she was just talking shit." Maggie added, which was totally possible.

I shrugged my shoulders as we made our way from the kitchen to the living room, then the patio and back again. No sign of her.

Maybe she lied about coming just to get under my skin. Bitch.

Chad was at the beer pong tables, flailing his arms like an idiot to get our attention which put an instant smile on Maggie's face.

"Wes went to get a quick shower before you got here." Chad said as he draped an arm across Maggie's shoulders and kissed her temple.

"Maybe I'll go check on him" I said, wiggling my eyebrows at my friends as I set my beer down and headed toward the hallway, laughing at their loud cheers and whistles as I disappeared out of sight.

I ran my fingers through my hair, fluffing it slightly as I pulled my top down and adjusted it as I placed my hand on the doorknob and turned it.

I was expecting to walk into an empty room with Wes still in the shower, or possibly Wes getting dressed by his closet, but what I actually saw sucked the air from my lungs and made my stomach drop to the floor.

Trisha smiled at me from Wes' bed, pulling his sheets up to cover her naked body.

Oh my god, no.

I clutched at my stomach which started to roll and churn as Trisha laughed at me from Wes' bed...wrapped in Wes' sheets...naked.

He wouldn't do this to me. He wouldn't.

I squeezed my eyes shut as I repeated the words to myself in my mind before Wes emerged from the bathroom with a towel around his waist and a big smile across his face.

He's naked too. They...they couldn't have.

Trisha let her eyes bounce from Wes back to me as she clutched the sheets a little tighter.

"Oops! I guess we can't go for round two now." Trisha giggled giving Wes a devilish grin.

Round two?

Wes' eyes were wide and he looked shocked and pissed all wrapped into one.

Yeah, I bet you weren't expecting to see me yet. Fucking asshole. Enjoy your second round with Trisha.

An angry tear escaped the corner of my eye and I swiped it away harshly, glaring at Wes before I quickly turned to leave.

He yelled something from inside his room, but I couldn't hear him. I couldn't hear anything except the blood pounding in my ears as I pushed through the crowd and out the front door.

How could he do this to me?

My chest aches and I rubbed at the center trying to soothe the ache that was starting to seep into my bones.

My heart had been broken so many times by so many different men. First my father, then Colt, now Wes. Maybe I was destined to be miserable. Maybe it's written somewhere in the cosmos that I'm doomed to be unhappy and mistreated.

Why would you do this to me Wes?

Wes~

I threw on a pair of shorts and didn't even bother with a shirt as I stormed into the hallway. Figuring she probably ran to her friends, I searched them out and made my way toward them with furious steps and a scowl I couldn't control.

What the fuck just happened in there?

"Where's Gracie?" I said loudly over the music.

"We thought she was with you." Mandy said with concern in her eyes as she read my body language and expression.

I lifted my arms and laced my fingers behind my head as I tried to get my anger under control.

"Fuck!" I yelled loudly before I started searching every room.

She knows I'd never sleep with Trisha, or anyone for that matter, doesn't she? She has to!

I frantically paced the house before eventually winding up in the front yard and finally laid eyes on her. She was at the end of the drive way, crying and it tore me apart.

I jogged over to her, hearing Mandy and Maggie on my heels.

"Gracie baby, that wasn't what it looked like." I said softly as I placed my hands on her arms from behind.

She pulled away from me instantly and spun around, pinning me with a hateful stare that made me hurt from the inside out.

"Wasn't what it looked like?" She practically screamed.

"It looked like your fuck buddy was in your bed, naked, asking you for round two!"

"What!" Mandy screamed from behind me, but  Blake intervened and held her in place.

"Gracie look at me. I didn't sleep with her. Come on baby please. You gotta believe me." I was begging, pleading with her to believe me with one time.

"I should have known better." She said with a laugh as tears streamed down her cheeks.

"Everyone told me that I was an idiot for thinking you could actually commit to one woman. I should have listened! That night I saw you with another girls fucking lipstick smeared all over your face? That's when I should have walked away!" She screamed.

I rubbed at my chest at the impact of her words before taking a step toward her, wanting nothing more than to wrap her up in my arms while she cried, even if she hated me.

"Don't touch me!" She hissed through her sobs as she planted her hands on my chest and pushed me as hard as she could.

My chest absorbed the impact of her tiny hands and didn't it move me an inch which only seemed to piss her off more. I put my hands up in a non threatening surrender pose as I willing took a step back.

"Alright, I hear you baby. I won't touch you." I said as I retreated.

Mandy broke free from Blake and rushed to Gracie's side, holding her while she cried.

"Let's go home okay? Will you let me take you home?" Mandy asked.

I thought for sure Gracie would agree, but there was a fire behind her eyes that flashed in my direction.

"You'd like that wouldn't you? If I just went home and let you finish up your round two?"

You don't mean any of this Gracie. You're just hurt.

I hung my head and shook it back and forth.

"I didn't sleep with her. I swear to you. I would never hurt you like that. You know me!"

"I thought I did." She whimpered.

"But I'm not about to give you a free pass to go finish your night with that girl. I'm staying." She said, folding her arms across her chest in what she thought was an act of defiance.

Good I don't want you to leave. Not like this.

"If you really didn't sleep with her and want nothing to do with her then I want you to make her leave. And I want to watch."

"Done." I said instantly.

They followed me back toward the house with more eyes on me than I could count. This was about to be a shit show, but Gracie wanted a front row seat.
