Wes ~

I was furious and fuming as I stormed into the house, scanning the crowd for Trisha and finding her immediately.

My steps were heavy and angry as I made my way across the room with my gaze locked on Trisha and an audience at my back.

"Get the fuck out, Trisha." I yelled loudly, pulling her attention away from her friends.

"Don't be so dramatic," She said, rolling her eyes at me.

Feeling the tick and itch of my clenched fists, I used every ounce of self control that I had left as I approached her, seeing Gracie and Mandy out of my peripheral vision.

"Tell her that nothing happened." I growled down at Trisha, motioning over at Gracie who was glaring at waiting for a reply.

"So you want me to lie?" Trisha said sadistically with a grin that made me want to vomit.

What the fuck? Is this girl fucking serious?

"Don't listen to her Gracie, she's a goddamn liar." I yelled, looking over at Gracie, pleading with my eyes for her to believe me.

Gracie folded her arms across her chest and narrowed her eyes, but was she looking at me or Trisha? Maybe both.

"I didn't do this Gracie, you know me." I said before turning my attention back to Trisha.

"I want you out of my house, Trisha. Whatever lies you've convinced yourself of end now. We're done. We've been done for months. Didn't you take the hint when I stopped answering your pathetic texts?"

My words must have struck a nerve because Trishas smile faded and she shifted back and forth under the stares of everyone in the room.

"You didn't seem to complain about me being in your house or sending you texts when you were fucking me." Trisha shot back maliciously, knowing those words would hurt Gracie.

"Yeah well that was months ago, and we've all been broke enough to have to try the cheap liquor. Everyone's had it because it's easy to get, but it tastes like shit...I've got top shelf now." I said motioning over at Gracie.

"You're not my girlfriend Trisha...Gracie is."

I looked over my shoulder with an apologetic look, hoping that was still true.

"Fuck you, Wes." Trisha hissed at me. "I'm not going anywhere."

Oh yes you fucking are.

I snatched the drink from her hand, spilling it down her shirt in the process before I tossed it into the sink from across the room, making a huge fucking mess but I didn't care. I'd clean it up later.

Next I grabbed her purse from the couch and turned on my heel storming out the front door, launching the bag into the yard.

"What the hell Wes?" Trisha screamed, clawing at my arm for her purse, but I was unfazed.

"Get the fuck out." I growled as I slammed the door in her face.

Sure it was a dick move, but I needed Trisha out of my house so I could focus my attention on Gracie.

Unable to stop my own feet I rushed toward Gracie with open arms, begging her to believe me.

"Gracie, you have to believe me." I pleaded, reaching my hands out toward her arms that were wrapped tightly around her middle.

She stumbled backwards, evading my advance with pain in her eyes. I felt like I'd been punched square in the chest as she backed away from me like I was her enemy instead of her boyfriend.

"Baby please don't do this. You know me." I begged, taking another step forward only to watch her back away from me again.

"I need some space Wes. I just... I need to process all of this." Gracie said in a shaky voice that broke me.

"I'll can give you space. I'll give you whatever you need. Just please don't leave. Not like this."

I held my hands up, facing my palms toward her as I took a step backwards. She nodded slowly without looking at me, indicating that she wasn't going to leave as Maggie and Amanda swooped in, wrapping their arms around her the way I wished I could.

Watching helplessly, I stood still as they brushed past me and saw Gracie snatch and a drink from Maggie's hand before she tossed her head back and downed the whole thing in a few gulps. She did the same thing to Mandys drink and went to the kitchen in search of another with her friends trailing behind her.

She's going to try to drink this hurt away.

My eyes were glued to Gracie the entire night, watching and waiting for an opportunity to talk to her, but keeping my distance like she'd asked me to do. It was pure torture.

She'd occasionally wipe an angry tear from the corner of her eye as she talked to Maggie and Amanda at the kitchen table.

The fuck are they saying?

My knuckles were white as I gripped my beer, using all of my self control to stay in place, feeling my heart start to race every time her sad eyes searched the room for me.

Still right here Darlin. I'm not goin' anywhere.

Chad gave me an endearing squeeze on the shoulder, trying to comfort me as best he could.

"She'll come around." Chad said confidently.

"I want to know what they're fucking saying." I said through gritted teeth.

"Well let's find out, shall we? Chad said with a grin.

"Hey Mag, come here for a sec babe." Chad hollered from across the room.

Maggie stood from the table, rolling her eyes at Chad as she gave him a playful grin and headed toward us, knowing exactly why she was being summoned.

"How bad is it?" I asked as soon as she got close to us.

Maggie sighed and turned her back to Gracie and Mandy as she spoke.

"She knows deep down that Trisha is a liar." Maggie started.

"Thank the fucking lord." I said, letting out a huff of air that I had been holding the entire night.

"But this is hard for her Wes. What she saw in your room and what she heard from Trisha's mouth goes against everything you're saying. You realize what you're asking her to do right? Blind trust...and that's not an easy thing for Gracie. The men in her life have taught her the exact opposite, so it's going to take her a little while to quiet that voice inside."  Maggie added sincerely.

I hated that there were seeds of doubt planted in Gracie's mind, but I'd do whatever it took to reassure her that I was faithful and trustworthy.

"What can I do?" I asked, rubbing the back of my head, trying to release some of the tension I was holding.

"Don't leave. Show her how faithful you are by waiting her out. She'll come around."

"Done." I agreed quickly, watching my Gracie throw back another drink.

"She's had too much to drink, though. If she doesn't slow down she's gonna make herself sick."

"I know, we've been trying to get her to pump the brakes but she's upset and hard to reason with right now. So we're just listening." Maggie added.

I let out a sigh and stared at my girl from across the room, hating the fact that she didn't want to be in my arms at the moment. Her sad eyes lifted and met mine for a split second and I held her gaze as long as she'd let me.

I'm not going anywhere Gracie. I'm yours.
