Gracie ~
The next day I was stuck in a haze, reliving my night with Wes. I knew I should be concentrating on taking notes, but my mind kept drifting to Wes and how gentle he was with me last night.
He hadn't pressured me and didn't expect anything in return. He was generous and selfless and my mind was still trying to wrap itself around it, wondering what the catch was.
I pushed out the intrusive thoughts that were trying to convince me that he was going to use that favor as leverage later to get something he wanted out of me. But I refused to let my past relationship fuel my current one. Colt was manipulative and selfish, but Wes wasn't. In fact Wes went out of his way to separate himself from Colt's toxic behavior and I quickly reminded myself of that face.
Wes isn't Colt.
After class Maggie and Amanda cornered me in my room and demanded a girls night so we could catch up without the boys. I was reluctant at first, but told them if they'd let me study for a few hours I'd meet them at Lucky's later that evening. I couldn't stop smiling and they picked up on it immediately, wanting to know every detail, but they were going to have to wait.
I gathered my books and laptop ready to head to the library for a few hours when my phone buzzed in my bag.
Butterflies swarmed my stomach at the sight of Wes' name.
Wes: How's my beautiful braniac today?
Gracie: About to head up to the library :)
Wes: Of course you are. Got any plans tonight? We're having some people over at the house.
Gracie: Girls night at Lucky's with Maggie and Mandy
Wes: Damn
Wes: After?
I smiled at Wes' desire to see me even if it was just for a few minutes, but it was a Wednesday and I had an 8am class the next morning. As much as I loved his attention and the fun we were having, I couldn't risk my grades dropping.
Gracie: I probably won't stay out too late, got that early 8am on Thursdays that I need to be functional for. But what about tomorrow night?
Wes: It's a date
My smile grew even wider at his immediate understanding and agreement.
Wes: Also, text me when you get to Lucky's so I know to keep my phone on me and on loud. Not trying to intrude on your girls night, just want to make myself available if you need me.
So protective. I love that.
Gracie: Will do. I don't deserve you. :)
Wes: You're right...
Wes: You deserve much better ;)
I tucked my phone into my bag with a huge smile on my face as I headed for the library.

Lucky's was packed when I finally arrived, but it only took me a few seconds to find Maggie and Mandy who were waving their arms like idiots.
Guess they went ahead and started drinking without me.
I joined them at the table and sent a quick text to Wes as soon as I sat down.
Gracie: Just got to Lucky's, and spoiler alert: Mag and Mandy are already drunk lol
Wes: Shocker
Wes: Have fun beautiful. Text me if you need me, I'll have my phone on me all night.
I was busy grinning at my phone when Mandy interrupted, pulling my attention away.
"Okay spill the fucking tea already, why are you so smiley today?" Mandy demanded.
"Did you and Wes finally seal the deal?" Maggie asked, wiggling her eyebrows at me.
"Nope." I sassed playfully, taking a sip of Mandy's drink, while I waited for my own to be delivered to the table.
"If yall didn't mess around then why are you practically glowing today?" Mandy asked, snatching her drink back.
"I didn't say we didn't mess around."
Both girls eyes went wide and they wiggled and clapped in their seats, scooting in closer to me to get the details.
"Details." Maggie said, leaning in close.
"I'm not giving you details." I scoffed. "Let's just say Wes is very...Skilled and...generous."
I made sure my statement was vague, but they weren't going to accept that in their tipsy state.
"Ah, so he went downtown...The only question is did he go downtown for a stroll or for dinner?" Maggie said playfully.
The blush in my cheeks was impossible to hide and I smiled sheepishly at Maggie's words.
"Oh he went downtown for dinner didn't he? Ate a whole fucking meal," Mandy joked.
"Jesus!" I cackled, slapping Mandy playfully on the arm.
"She didn't deny it." Maggie giggled.
"How was he? Just because a guy is willing to go down on you doesn't mean he knows what he's doing." Mandy asked, leaning in intently.
I couldn't believe I was having this conversation, but it was kind of refreshing and exciting. Nothing Colt did to me was ever worth repeating, but Wes was a damn God and deserved at least a little recognition.
"Oh he knew exactly what he was doing." I confirmed with a grin.
We laughed and gossiped for a few more minutes, enjoying the much needed girl time and break from the real world. I swiveled my head over my shoulder to find the waitress who had taken my order, but I couldn't find her. It had been twenty minutes and I was over it.
"I'm gonna go up to the bar to order another drink," I said with slight irritation in my voice as I slid off the tall bar stool and headed toward the crowded bar.
I weaved through the crowd until I reached the bar top and leaned into my elbows, trying to make my small body visible for the very busy bartender.
She finally made eye contact with me, but before I could place my order a tall blonde blocked my view and ordered before me, flipping her hair in my face.
What the hell?
The blonde immediately turned to me and gave me a condescending smirk.
"Sorry didn't see you there." She lied, trying to force her voice to a higher octave.
Wait I know this girl. Tracy? No, Trisha.
"Hang on a second, I know you. You're Wes' little charity case." The blonde sneered.
Narrowing my eyes at her, I glared, but let my calm smile return.
"I think you just mispronounced the word girlfriend." I shot back.
Trisha tilted her head back and laughed, letting out a bitchy sadistic laugh that made my skin crawl.
"That's so cute that you think that. I give it a week before he's back in my bed. We have an arrangement." She hissed at me with an unnerving smile.
"Also, if you're his girlfriend, why aren't you at his party? I got an invite...so why didn't he invite you?"
He invited her?
My stomach dropped slightly at the thought, but I quickly regained my composure.
No. Stop it Gracie. This girl is trying to get under your skin, she's lying and you know it.
I suddenly felt protective and jealous, which I wasn't used to, but I couldn't help it. Wes was mine and this Trisha girl needed to be put in her place.
"I'm heading over there shortly actually, you're welcome to come with me. I'm sure Wes would be happy to help clear up your obvious confusion about your arrangement."
Trisha glared at me and sipped sloppily at her drink.
"Poor thing. You don't know Wes at all do you?" She giggled before turning her back and laughing with her friends as she walked away.
I was seething, but tried to convince myself not to react as I ordered my drink and headed back to my table.
Who the hell does she think she is?
"What's wrong?" Mandy asked, picking up on my change of demeanor immediately.
"Nothing, just some girl Wes used to fuck, giving me shit." I snarled as I tipped my glass back and polished off my drink in a few quick gulps.
"Where?" Maggie asked, trying to make herself taller to see over the crowd.
I leaned back and pointed at Trisha, who was getting ready to leave with her friends.
"Trisha...I can't stand her." Maggie said, rolling her eyes.
We sat there for another thirty minutes before I couldn't take it any longer. Surely Trisha was lying about being invited to Wes' house, but the thought was eating me alive. I trusted Wes with my whole heart, but Trisha on the other hand seemed to have zero boundaries.
"Feel like going to see our boys?" I asked, getting wide grins from both Maggie and Mandy in return.
"Thought you'd never ask." Maggie said happily.
