~song of the day~
You are the Reason - Calum Scott

The entire class stares at us, shock written on their faces. I cover my face and run my hands through my hair frustratedly.
Can the ground please open up now and like swallow me?

Unaffected by the drama he'd just caused, Gray saunters past me and takes a seat next to Luca. He fist-bumps Luca and I raise an eyebrow, wondering when they became buddies. My eyes scan the room and noticed there were only two seats available. One next to Justin, a very very weird guy. No one ever sat next to him, not that he was ugly or anything, he was just really weird. He hardly talks and whenever he does, he talks to himself. He's super smart though, and I'm convinced he's one of those geniuses people can't understand.

I shake my head. Nah, I wasn't going to seat next to him. The only spare seat was next to Zyair. Kill me. Zyair would taunt me about living with Gray and try to get every information out of me. The next teacher walks in, giving me little to no choice as I walk to sit next to Zyair.

As soon as my bum hits the chair, Zyair turns to stare at me with a small smirk on his face. "What did I just hear?" He asks, leaning his arm on the table.

"Err... I don't know. Your brain is responsible for your hearing, not me," I reply, staring straight ahead.

Zyair opens his mouth to say something but is prevented from asking any more questions when Mr. Ben arrives with a new student next to him. I mentally thank God for his arrival, but my breath hitches when I see the female next to him. Calling her pretty would be a huge understatement, this girl is gorgeous.

She looks like your typical celebrity, dark luscious locks with bright brown eyes and pink pouty lips. Immediately she walks in, the guys whistle and clap their hands like dejected animals. Perverts

"Oh wow. A pretty face for a change," Aaron says, earring him a few snickers and boo from some girls in my class.

I never take Aaron's words to heart, I knew he was just teasing us because I was gorgeous if I do say so myself. I'm not proud, just confident.

"Wow, she's really pretty," Zyair comments next to me.

"She's okay," I mutter in reply. To be honest, yes, she was pretty, but I found everyone pretty. Okay. That was a lie.

The girl turns to the class, a huge smile on her face. She had this queen bee look and I hated it. She was probably the type of person to act nice to some people and be mean to others. She's definitely a two-faced Gemini.

I don't have anything against Geminis, but I just didn't like them. Well, not anymore because both Ashely and Gray are Geminis.

"Hello, my name is Amy and I'm from California-,"

"No one asked where you're from," Zoe mutters under her breath, loud enough for everyone to hear. Amy just stares at her with a confused and hurt expression.

"Oh I'm sorry then," She smacks her lips and clasps her hands. She most definitely wasn't sorry. In fact, she probably couldn't be bothered.

"Oh no don't be. Wow, California girls sure are different," Aaron smiles at her sweetly. I roll my eyes disgustedly at his lame words. I should probably start covering my face with a mask or something, these guys don't deserve to see my beauty every day.

"Do you think she has a boyfriend?" Zyair leans closer to ask. I roll my eyes and sigh.

"She's right there, Zyair. Why don't you ask?" I fake smile, gesturing towards Amy.

Zyair blows a raspberry and shakes his head. I watch as Aaron forces the guy next to him to move seats and ushers Amy to seat next to him. She walks over to him, a huge smile on her face. She glances over at Luca and Gray, who have their heads bent, staring at something on their phone. I hated the fact that they were acting like friends, I haven't even seen them talking much.

"Hey, I'm Amy," She reintroduces herself to Aaron.

No shit Sherlock. We got your name the first time.

You know how in movies, the new girl hardly talks on the first day. Heck, new girls hardly talk or make friends the first day, in real life. Well, dear Amy is an exception. She is anywhere and everywhere, floating like a pretty harmless butterfly.

She is inviting everyone to her welcoming party, which is a party she's throwing to help everyone get familiar with her. Is that what happens in Californian high schools?

I was tired of seating and watching her, so I grab my bag from the chair and walked out of the class. Well, tried too.

Amy stands in front of me, blocking my path, a huge friendly smile on her face. "I'd like to invite you to my party," She smiles, tilting her head.

"I don't go to strangers' houses," I deadpan, mimicking her sicken sweet facial expression.

"We're not strangers. Although I'm new, we can become friends," She replies with the same sickening sweet smile. Ugh. I can't stand her already. I don't know why but she just rubs me off the wrong way.

"I barely know anything about you," I pull my hand away from her grip.

"You can get to know me now," She replies. Why is she so persistent about my appearance at her party? It's annoying.

I tilted my head to the side and crossed my arms over my chest. "When were you born?"

"May 30th. Why?"

I knew it. She's a fucking Gemini. I am very big on star signs and I really do believe in the character traits. I don't know her much, but I'm pretty convinced she's bad news. I shake my head. "I'm sorry, I'll be busy," I lie with ease.

"You don't even know when the party is," She replied.

"It doesn't matter, but I'm sure I'll be busy whenever it is," I deadpan and walk past her.

"Why are you being so mean to me?" She cried out, stopping me in my tracks. Oh. She is bold. Bold. I never would have been able to call out someone like that, but she didn't even care.

"She's probably jealous of you," I hear Zoe's annoying voice whisper. I sigh and take a little look around the room, there were a few people staring at us with the utmost amusement.

I walk back to face her. "When's the party?"

"This Friday," She pouted.

"I'll be there," I gave a small smile and walked out. I really hated dramas that painted me as a bad person. I guess I might have been a bit mean to her, but in my defense all Geminis were shitty. I know I shouldn't blame all Geminis based on two people that had hurt me, but I couldn't help it.

Why won't this girl leave me alone???

It was lunch break and guess where Amy was seated. Yep. Right next to Fawn and I at our table. She must have figured I was one of the popular kids and was trying to work her way into being my friend.

"I lived in California, but I didn't live in LA. Where I stayed was more of the countryside, but whenever most people hear Cali, they think of the big cities and bright lights," She laughed, forking her vegetables. She had been telling us about her wonderful life in California, and no one asked her by the way.

I leaned my hands on my temple and massage them. My eyes darted to the other side of the room where Gray was seated with Zyair, Aaron, and Luca. They must have dragged Luca into their clique. Too bad, I was just getting friendly with Luca. But, if he wants to be friends with Gray, then he's got to go. I wanted nothing to do with Gray or anyone acquaintanced with him.

"Is that your boyfriend?" Amy whispers, pulling me out from my thoughts. What? My eyes trail her gaze and meet Gray, who had his eyes fixed on me. I must have been staring at him without even realizing it.

"No, I barely know him," I whispered back to her and buried my face in my food as quickly as I could. How embarrassing! He must have thought I was staring at him because I had feelings for him or something.

"It looks like he knows you. He can't stop staring," She whispers back, tugging at the hem of my shirt.

"Well, stop staring," I snapped, without raising my eyes to look at her.

"Oh.. now he's coming here," She beams happily and I could imagine a huge smile on her face. Just kill me.

I hear a tray clatter on the table, followed by more tray clattering. I close my eyes and muttered some curse words, before raising my head in the most natural way, a smile on my lips. I'm met with Gray, Zyair, Aaron, and Luca seated at our table eating their meals like they didn't just cause a scene.

Who the fuck moves tables in-between meals? Almost everyone at the cafeteria was staring at our table now, whispering to each other silently.

I wanted to tell them to leave. Gray and I sitting at the same table was a huge gossip point for students in this school. "Can you-,"

"So Amy, why did you move from Cali," Gray asks, cutting me off and looking up from his food to stare at Amy.

Wait a minute. Where they here because of Amy? This Amy?

"Huh?" Amy asks, stunned as she stared at Gray. She soon regains her composure and smiles at him. "My dad got a new job here in NYC."

"You live in my neighborhood though," Zyair smiles, earning him a smile from Amy.

"How do you know that?" Fawn asks

"Her party address."

"You guys can also invite your girlfriends, the more the merrier," Amy says, taking a small bite of her sweet potato.

Aaron chuckles and shakes his head and hands. "We are all very single."

Amy raises an eyebrow as she stares at all of them. "All of you?" She asks, widening her eyes. I raised an eyebrow at her discomposure, was that a big deal?

"Yep," Aaron replies again, popping the p as he spoke for the group.

"So what I'm hearing is you're single," She leans forward, her eyes fixed on Gray. Ouch, poor Aaron. He should have just said he was single, rather than telling her about all of them.

"Huh?" Gray raises his head from his meal and glances at me for a split second. "Something like that."

"Be specific yes or no?" She urges, tapping her feet impatiently. Just a few moments ago, she thought I and Gray were dating, but now she's all over him?

"What are you going to do if he's single," I flip my hair to the side, so I could get a better view of her face.

"I'll ask him out," She deadpans and Zyair almost choked on his food. You know I said she's bold bold. Well, scratch that. She's bold bold bold.

"Do girls do that nowadays?" He asks, his eyes lit up with amusement.

Amy shrugs and leans on her arm. "There's a first time for everything."

"I like someone though," Gray announces, earning him stares from everyone, including a few people from other tables, who were- oh so shamelessly- eavesdropping on our conversation.

"Is she your girlfriend?"

"No."

"Then it's all good then," She smiles, a takes a sip of her orange juice.

"But he said he likes someone," Fawn pointed out, but Amy just ignores her and stares at Gray.

"Give me five dates."

"What?"

"Five dates and I'll make you fall in love with me," She smiles at Gray and crosses her arms around her chest. Gray stares at her with an amused expression and I could tell he found her interesting.

I cross my legs and tilt my head to stare at her. "How? Using black magic?" I ask, sarcasm dripping from my voice.

"I might resort to that if my natural charms don't work," She says, matching my sarcasm. She was staring at me like an animal staring at her prey. Pretty cute how she can switch from nice to mean in a split second.

"Deal," Gray says, a small smile playing on his lips. I glare at him and he smiles back at me. I didn't know why I was getting so defensive, they'd be perfect for each. Two ridiculously beautiful Geminis.

"While we're on the topic, would you mind going on five dates with me?" Luca asks, speaking for the first time since he sat here. His blue eyes were trained on me and I pointed at myself to be sure he was talking to me.

"Me?" I ask and he nodded in reply.

"What's with everyone today? Making me cringe," Zyair shrugs, picking up his tray and walking away.

Gray sits up straighter and leans on the table with his elbow. "Why her? There are a bunch of prettier girls here in NY," He says, staring from me to Luca. I rolled my eyes at his offensive words. It wasn't any of his business why Luca liked me.

"Why not her?" Luca asks, dragging his eyes away from me to stare at Gray.

"I could introduce you to a lot of prettier girls," Gray replies, pressing his lips in a firm line.

Luca shakes his head and kisses his teeth. "No, thank you."

"Why?" Gray asks in a firm tone. He always uses that tone, whenever he was annoyed and didn't want to show it.

"I want Dove."
