Gray's POV

I fold my arms and lean my head on the headrest of the van, closing my eyes. I tap my feet impatiently, wondering what where we were going.

"Stop that, " Jelly growled, placing a gun on my knee. Jelly is one of those people who love to command attention.

He's mean, brutal, and everything negative, but I knew he couldn't shoot me.

I open my eyes slowly and nudge him with my knee, making the gun fall to the floor. He dilates his eyes at my attitude, standing up and grabbing me by the collar.

"Listen here, pretty boy. I'm the boss. Don't you ever flip my gun off like that, " He growls, his fist digging deeply into my neck.

I look at him with a raised eyebrow, keeping my emotions in check. "Try it again, and we'll see what happens, " I narrow my eyes.

Jelly releases his grip on my collar and draws his hand back. In the blink of an eye, he punches me across the jaw, and my face whirls to the side.

"You fucking bastard, " He slams me across the face again, this time harder than the last.

He was about to punch me again when Shark holds him back, pinning his hands behind his back.

I bring my hand up to wipe my lips and feel the blood dripping from my lower lip. I sigh and spat out the metallic taste of blood.

Shark is still holding him back, so I take hold of the opportunity and punch him hard in the stomach.

"Try and control your anger issues," I snort in his face, rubbing my hand to ease the pain I felt from hitting his rock hard tummy.

I should have punched him in the face as he did with me.

He lurched at me, but Shark held him down. "Let me go. I'm gonna kill this bitch," He spits, nudging shark in an attempt to free himself.

"Boss will kill you first. Don't touch him," Shark said, trying his best to hold Jelly from hitting me.

Starfish suddenly brings the van to a halt, making us jerk forward and lose our balance.

He snaps his head back and glares at us. "One more word from either of you and I'll drive this van into the fucking sea," He rumbled.

Starfish is the only one I truly fear in the gang. He's a very super quiet person but could be very brutal whenever he needed to. He had scars all over his face and body, and no one really knows where he got them all from.

Jelly scowled at me and I rolled my eyes in return. I sat down and looked back out the window, hoping to get this night over with.

Starfish pulls up to a street and parks a few feets from Crescent hotel. I look out the window and raise an eyebrow.

"Crescent?"

Shark points in the other direction and I follow his hands with my eyes. "We're getting ice cream?"

I wonder why they couldn't just speak with their mouths.

Shark pulls a gun from the holster on his hips and places it in my hand. "You see the man biting his fingernails?" He asks, pointing to a dark-skinned man in a dark brown suit. He had a nervous look as he bit his nails.

"Kill him."

I chuckle and run a hand through my hair. I place the gun back on Shark's legs. I hadn't killed anyone in two years and I wasn't planning on starting now.

I knew they wouldn't let me off the hook that easily but I'd rather they kill me. "No."

"He stole five hundred thousand dollars from Boss. That's twice the amount your father stole," Jelly scowls, his stare icy.

"Not my problem, " I shrug.

They had a habit of always letting me know how lucky I was to be alive after my dad stole that much money.

"I think it is," He smirks, his gaze locked on something behind the car.

I follow his sight and my chest immediately tightens when I see Kelch. She was smiling with Luca as they walked out of the hotel.

"She's the one, isn't she?" Jelly taunts, his lips close to my ear.

"The one that called 911 that day, " Shark adds.

I try my best to plaster a bored expression on my face, although my heart was beating faster than normal.

I chuckle and cross my arms. "I don't know her."

"Then you wouldn't mind me killing her, " Jelly grins evilly and cloaks his gun.

He raises his hand up and points it at Kelch. Luca had covered her with his jacket and wrapped his arms around her.

"Why would you kill an innocent person," I question and flip the gun out of his hand, my eyes blazing with anger.

Shark places the gun back on my lap. "Kill him or she gets killed."

I stare down at the gun on my laps and back at Jelly. After my years in The Cagers, I know how little human life meant to them. If they said they'll kill her. I knew they would kill her.

When I hesitate, Jelly wears his mask and opens the van door. He points his gun at Kelch and places a finger near the trigger, closing one eye.

My brain reacts fast and I quickly grab the gun on my lap. I point it at the man and pulls the trigger, all in the blink of an eye.

I jerk back from the force gun and watch as the man falls to the ground. Kelch widens her eyes and stares at the man in shock.

She raises her head up and meets my gaze just as Starfish drives off.

She saw me. Now she'll hate me more.

"Oh...Nice shot. Right in the head. Pow, " Jelly laughs and shakes my shoulder violently.

"Welcome back, Kiddo, " Shark praises me, patting my shoulders.

I ignore them and stare out the window. The image of Kelch's face stuck on replay in my head.

She probably hates me now.

Immediately I get home, I enter my car and drive off to Aaron's house. I texted Zyair and asked him to meet me there.

I needed a way to disperse my anger, and Aaron's father's wrestling basement was the perfect place for that.

Growing up, Aaron's father used to train me and the boys in his basement, hoping one of us would grow up to be a professional wrestler.

The only thing his training did was make us muscular. I didn't like wrestling much, but I did enjoy punching the punch bag.

I get to Aaron's house and turn off my car engine. I jump out of my car and headed for the basement.

Aaron and I were like family, so I knew where they keep all their keys. On getting to the basement, Zyair and Aaron were seated on the floor crossed legs, drinking soda, and laughing.

Zyair brings his eyes up to look at me. "Hey, do you want a soda?" He asks.

I shook my head and grabbed my black punching gloves.

"Did something happen, you sounded pretty upset over the phone?" Aaron asks, standing up and dusting his shorts.

I shook my head again and went towards a red punch bag.

"Not that one. Dad just bought that," Aaron pushes me away from the red one and towards a black worn-out one.

I stood in front of the punching bag and punched it hard with all my might. The bag tears when I punch it and sand begins to pour from below.

I turned to Aaron with a bored expression. He widens his eyes, while Zyair mouth stood agape, spilling his soda onto his shirt.

"How...did? Wha-t?" Aaron mutters, walking to the bag and inspecting it.

He tilted his head and stared at the sand pour out.

"Wow..we should have gotten that on video," Zyair grins, wiping his shirt with his hand.

I sighed and walked back towards the red one. It wasn't my fault the black one tore, it was probably defective already.

"Punch slowly, would you?" Aaron says and I ignore him.

I feel the red bag and punch it once. It was pretty steady, so I continue throwing multiple punches. My anger building up with every single punch.

A ton of questions swirls around my mind.

How did they know where Dove would be?

Did they put a tracker on her?

What was she doing at a hotel with Luca?

I feel my hands getting weaker with each punch as my anger begins to subside. I keep on hitting the bag, gritting through the pain.

"Don't you think we should stop him, " Aaron whispers to Zyair.

Zyair clears his throat and stands opposite the bag. He holds the bag when I throw my next punch and tilts his head.

"Why don't you take a break from the bag?"

I look at the ring in the middle of the room and back at him. "Wanna be my sparring partner?"

He blinks at me and lets the bag go before walking back to stand next to Aaron.

"Coward."

After a while, I halt the punches when my shoulders become numb. I lay flat on the floor and sighed.

Zyair leans over me. "Are you going to tell us what happened now?"

I ignore him again and head up to Aaron's room. I didn't want to talk about it, knowing I'd just get angry again.

They follow me to Aaron's room, and while Zyair lays on Aaron's bed, Aaron lays on the rug in the center of his room.

I take a shower in Aaron's bathroom and snicker when I see his rainbow-colored robe.

I put it on and walk back out. "Where did you get this?"

He looks up at me and furrows his brows. "My mom got it, " He sneers and I laughed.

I rummage through his closet for something to wear because my clothes were dripping wet with my sweat.

I pick a white shirt and black sweatpants, taking off the robe.

Aaron widens his eyes at my crotch. "When did you get so big?"

I stare down and shrugged. "Puberty, I guess."

"To go to school tomorrow or not to go to school, " Zyair sighs, playing with a coin.

"I can't wait to graduate and leave this fucking city, " Aaron groans into his hands and laughed.

"Me neither. Let's flip the coin, " Zyair sits up, waving the coin in his hands.

"Heads we don't go to school," I chuckled, pulling the shirt over my head.

Flipping coins was like a tradition of our friendship.

Pizza or salad. Flip a coin.

To skip wresting lessons or not. Flip a coin.

To work out or not. Flip a coin.

I watched as Zyair threw the coin in the air and clasped it in his hands.

We looked at each other and chuckled, knowing deep down that no matter what comes up.

We still won't go to school tomorrow.
