ISAAC'S POV

Teaching Marini how to shoot had been fun and also very entertaining. The funniest part for me was when she was asked what kind of gun she wanted and she replied the small ones. It had been hilarious because she was actually being honest with her reply. She could be savage when it came to handling her business but I saw her being clueless for the first time since I met her and it was a memory I'd remember for a while.

She was also a fast learner so teaching her had been easy. She had seemed to enjoy herself which made me even more proud that I'd been there with her. The fact that she had sat patiently for almost two hours watching me shoot round after round at the target had humbled me. I knew I was good and didn't need the training but the feeling I'd gotten from holding a gun in my hands again after almost a whole year was out of this world. It was just me, my gun and the target for those two hours and I owed it all to Marini. Working for her was turning out to be better than I had imagined.

The following morning I was patiently waiting in the kitchen for Marini to finish getting ready for church. I was a believer having been raised by my grandma who was strong in her faith. My faith in God also helped me get through some tough moments as a veteran. If not for God being by my side I would never have gotten out of there alive. I owed Him my life.

We had woken up about two hours ago prepared and had breakfast before separating to get ready. I think we were starting to behave like a married couple. It was just funny how after living together for only a week we were so in sync with each other. I better not dwell on that thought before I couldn't undo my thoughts.

I'd offered to do the dishes to give her more time to get ready but I still managed to get ready before her. I didn't mind waiting though, she could take as much time as she wanted.

Kim was in the backyard chasing his own tail. It was a funny watching him do that. Marini had taken quite a liking to him and I appreciated that. I don't know what I would have done if they didn't get along because Kim was my dog and I would never leave him but I really needed the job. I'm just happy I didn't have to choose between the two.

My thoughts were disrupted by the clinking of heels on the stairs. I stood up and now understood why Marini took so much time to get ready. She looked beautiful. She was wearing a red maxi dress that reached her ankles and allowed you just a little peek at the black heels she was wearing. The dress had a sweetheart neckline with long sleeves, the top bodice hugged her torso before flowing from her waist downwards. She had impeccable fashion sense. Her make up was perfectly done and her teardrop necklace matched her earrings. What captured my attention most was the Nigerian style head dress she wore which was of the same material as her dress. It looked like a crown on the head of a very deserving queen

"Wow just wow." I commented after lacking better words.

I felt under dressed in my three piece grey suit with a black tie and black loafers.

"Thank you. You clean up nice too." She replied with a smile.

"I'll pull the car around." I commented and before she could reply I was already headed towards the garage via the kitchen leaving her standing there with a confused look on her face.

I needed a few seconds to breath and gather myself. Marini was a natural temptress without even knowing and it was getting harder each and every day to control myself around her. For instance yesterday I almost shot myself on the leg to distract myself when I saw her bouncing up and down her boobs jiggling themselves in front of my face anytime she made a good shot. She was trying my restrains but I had to be strong. I couldn't loose my job because I had feelings for my boss. Feelings aside and work first.

I picked the keys to the SUV, unlocked it and drove out of the garage. She was standing at the bottom of the front steps when I pulled up, Kim by her side licking her hand as she held her purse with her free hand. I got out of the car and opened the back seat for her. After making sure she was comfortable and buckled in properly I closed the door and went around to the driver's side and drove out of the compound. Kim had tried to follow us but was distracted halfway through the drive way by a squirrel. I knew he didn't eat them, he just enjoyed the chase.

"I just remembered something. One of my tour driver's resigned so I reassigned Josiah to replace him. I hope you don't mind driving me around a little bit more until I find another driver to replace Josiah so he can come back." She informed me.

"Is Josiah happy at his new job?" I asked.

I'd miss that old man, he had the funniest stories.

"Yes he is. He's actually pretty excited to tour the country with all our customers." She replied.

"Then don't bother getting a replacement for him. I like driving you around and I don't mind it at all." I assured her.

I didn't mind it actually. I loved being her bodyguard and adding driver to that didn't make sure a huge difference.

"Are you sure?" She asked.

"Yes one hundred percent." I reassured her meeting her gaze through the rearview mirror.

"Okay good." She replied and smiled at me.

We continued the rest of the drive in comfortable silence and soon enough with her help arrived at the church. I really needed to familiarize myself with this place so I didn't have to rely on the Gps or Marini for directions. We found a parking spot and I got out of the car and opened Marini's door for her.

"We better head in. I see the clergy headed over." She informed me and I nodded at her following her in.

I hadn't been to church ever since I came back unless you counted my grandmother's burial. The church was pretty big with a huge cross at the top in the entrance and huge multicolored windows. They also had a pretty large parking space. We headed in and I allowed Marini to walk ahead out of habit and also because I needed to be guided on where to sit. The church was bigger on the inside with single plastic seats arranged neatly and huge pillars supporting the roof.

I saw people giving us odd and curious looks but I blocked them out as usual. We found our seats and Marini's sisters were already there. It was my first time seeing them again after the day of the interview. It'd only been a week but it felt longer than that. I shook their hands as we sat down. Lulu gave me a polite smile while Amani blushed and hid behind her sister. She really was as the articles described her, childish and adorable. She looked younger than her twenty years so she didn't look weird behavior as she did due to her youthful features. I just smiled at her and taunted turned to the front. The clergy got in and the service began.

The service was three hours long but I barely noticed due to how powerful and captivating the whole experience was. I don't think I'd be missing church ever again going forward. After the final prayers we walked out of the church with me walking behind all three sisters.

They all stopped next to Marini's car and I stood at a reasonable distance away and allowed them to talk in private without me crowding them.

"Isaac?" Marini called me over after a few minutes.

"We're going out to lunch, would you like to join us?" She asked.

"I had plans with my cousin this afternoon." I replied remembering that little detail about my afternoon plans.

"Invite him too." Amani suggested.

I was going to refuse her but Marini backed her up and I had no choice left but to agree.

"Great idea. Invite him so I can get to meet your family too."Marini insisted.

"Okay let me call him and ask." I replied and took my phone out of my phone pocket.

It rang just as I was about to dial Jeremy and surprise surprise it was him.

"Hey man I was about to call you." I said once I received the call.

"I need to get out of this house. Please tell me you have an idea ofΒ  how." He pleaded bypassing all form of greeting.

"Hello to you too dear cousin and yes I was calling to invite you out to lunch with my boss and her two sisters." I replied.

It was quiet on the other end of the line before I head a very unmanly shout came from him.

"Yes and yes. A chance to meet all the Kiarie sisters. It's like meeting the president only better. Text me the location details I'll be there in an hour tops." He declared and hang up before I could say anything else.

Looks like someone was excited.

"He's in. Actually he can't wait. So where are we going?" I informed the sisters who were patiently waiting my answer.

"I heard about this amazing place called The Hot Grill from one of my classmates. It's has amazing food but a little pricey but Marini's card won't mind." Amani suggested with a smirk.

Marini just rolled her eyes at her and tweaked her nose.

"Sounds good to me. We'll meet you there." Lulu agreed pulling her sister away towards their cars leaving us standing there.

I unlocked the car and opened the door for Marini. She got in and I closed it behind her and got into the driver's seat. I searched the restaurants name on the gps and sent the directions to Jeremy before driving off.

"You don't know how to say no to your sisters do you?" I asked Marini once we were on the tarmac.

"Oh I do. There are just some things that aren't worth fighting over. I hired you as per their request because I knew they were just worried about me. In reference to Amani's point about my card and the expensive restaurant, when we got orphaned the first thing I prayed to God is to never allow us to go hungry and I thank him because we never have. So whenever they ask for food no matter how expensive it is I never refuse them because I remember some times we ate noodles for dinner a week in a row because I was too busy with my studies to cook a good meal or we were budgeting. I said we never went hungry but I never said we at the best of food. Right now I feed them whatever they want because we've come from far and God had blessed me with enough to give them the best." She explained.

"They are lucky to have you." I said with a smile contemplating on her words.

"And I'm lucky to have them." She replied.

The restaurant wasn't that far away so we got there after a half an hour drive. The place was good with grills lined up at the front a good distance away from the parking spot. We all arrived at the same time apart from Jeremy who I knew was going to be late as he chose an outfit to impress the sisters with.

We all piled out of our cars and there was a waiter to receive us at the door.

"Welcome to The Grill."He welcomed us with a polite now.

"Thank you. Can we get a table for a party of five please?" Marini requested.

"Of course right this way please."He replied and we all followed him inside.

He led us to a pretty large table next to a window facing a huge TV and the bar.

"Can I get you anything to drink as you decide on what to order?" He asked once we were comfortably seated.

"Two bottles of your non alcoholic wine for me and my sisters." Marini ordered.

"I'm sorry we're out." He apologized.

"Juice will be fine then. I'll have the delmonte apple juice." She ordered.

"Passion for me and Amani will take the Orange." Lulu ordered.

"I'll have two beers and add two more for my friend." I ordered noticing Jeremy at the door and I waved him over.

As much as I would have loved to joining the girls in their non alcoholic rule, a man needs a beer every once in a while and I didn't drink during the week.

"Okay excuse me. I'll be back soon." The waiter excused himself.

I stood up to give Jeremy a handshake and a brief hug when he approached us.

"Ladies this is my cousin Jeremy. I don't think he needs an introduction as to who is who considering how much time he takes fantasizing who he'd marry first." I introduced teasingly earning me an elbow jab to the stomach that had me sitting down. I regret ever introducing him to the gym.

"It's nice to meet you." Jeremy said shaking their hands. "This one here thinks he's funny but he's not." Jeremy jabbed at me.

"Nice to meet you too Jeremy. I've heard a few things about you from Isaac. It's nice to put a face to the person." Marini said.

"All good things I hope?" Jeremy asked giving me a side glare that I brushed off.

"Of course." Marini assured him.

Lulu didn't say much except for a polite nod, typical her while Amani kept glancing at the both of us. I think she was trying to look for similarities between us. I don't think she'd find any. We looked nothing alike.

The waiter came back quick with our drinks and I had to make sure I stuck to those two because I was still driving home after. I didn't want Marini driving me home and carrying me up the stairs, not like she could lift me anyway. I was a terrible drunk.

"What would you guys like to order?" The waiter asked.

We all made our orders and there was definitely a lot of meat involved but that was to be expected as that was their main item on the menu.

"So how long before you fire Isaac?" Jeremy asked breaking the tension before it had a chance to build up.

It was my turn to glare at him but he just shrugged me off.

"I don't think there's a chance that would happen. He's growing on me." Marini defended and I held back the urge to stick my tongue out at him.

"That's too bad, I was kind of missing Kim." Jeremy replied.

"You're welcome to visit anytime." Marini invited and Jeremy smiled at that.

"Thank you. I'll be sure to take you up on that offer. That dog has the ability to win anyone over." Jeremy admitted.

"Tell me about it. He's awesome."Marini chipped in.

"I think we have to meet this dog that everyone keeps talking about. Don't you think so Amani?" Lulu asked.

"I think we do." Amani agreed.

"If I'd known a dog is what it takes to get you guys to come around more often I would have gotten a litter of puppies." Marini commented with and eye roll and we all laughed.

The food came soon after and we all dug in. There was a lot of chatter going on at the table that afternoon as we all bonded over stories about each other. A lot of embarrassing stories were shared but it was all in good fun. Anyone seeing us would have thought we were just a group of really good friends but they didn't know the bond was formed by work ties. I think those were already blurring but it was okay as long as they blurred for the good and not the bad side of things.

A few more moments like those would be much welcome.
