A/N: Heyo! Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I wanted to post today because I couldn't wait to update. That and I have some news. More information at the end. I hope this chapter is as exciting as the last one. I will try my best to. 'Kay, I'll see you at the end of the chapter. (Art credit goes to Unknown)

(Y/n)'s POV

You and Connor walk through the small doorway into the cramped kitchen space to see two tables with four seats, and the station androids in a line across the backbar counter. Connor approached them with a dead expression while you stood behind and observed like you had done before at the abandoned house. "What is your function?" Connor asked while analyzing the far android on the right.

"I am a broadcast operator." The android replied looking dead ahead.

"State your model." Connor demanded.

"Model JB300, Serial number 336 445 581." It reported its exact model and serial number.

"Have you been in any contact with any other androids?" Connor continued to interrogate.

While he continuously pried the other two androids, the far left one had seemed a bit off to you. You got a little closer to where Connor and the three station androids were. For a quick second, the far left one briefly looked up then down again realizing you were looking. You felt... sympathy for the, now known, deviant. You had the urge to help it out of this situation. Trying everything in your power to get its attention, something finally clicked.

"Hey, Connor?" You tapped him on his stiff shoulders. His head slightly tilted to the side to insinuate that he was listening but was still focused. "You're not getting anywhere interrogating these guys. We should just leave them alone before they self-destruct."

"How do you know about their self-destruct sequence?" Connor turned around to face you with a furrowed face.

"You do remember I have an android too, right? I know everything there is to one." You explained. Even a little bit of deviancy.

"(Y/n), look, if you think I am being too harsh on them then that's your opinion. But I must force out the information somehow. They'll break out of their little act sooner or later." Connor went to turn back around to continue his investigation.

"Fine! If you want it to be that way, then at least let me do something. I hate sitting here doing nothing while you do all the hard work." You persisted.

"I can handle this, (Y/n). Please, go wait with the Lieutenant." Connor reflected the determination.

"Damn it, Connor! Let me do this one thing!" You nearly shouted but reframed as to not bring attention to yourself. Especially from that dick called Perkins.

He turned his head to face yours, then back at the androids. He sighed then pivoted to leave, "I'm trusting you. Don't be too soft on them, got it? We won't get any information like that."

"I understand." You answered as he walked past you and out to the main room. Taking this time to your advantage you scurried to the deviant's side and whispered into his synthetic ear. "Play along for just a bit longer. I'm going to get you out of here."

You backed up to see his eyes were connecting with your (E/c) ones. You walked away from his side and continued to "Interrogate" the other two androids; occasionally asking the deviant a question. After a short while, you went back over to the deviant and was about to ask another question until he leaned almost unnoticeably close to whisper. "What is taking so long?"

"Trust me, I know what I'm doing." You whispered back. Your posture fixed itself as you prepared to continue to act like the bad cop. "You were at the monitor when the deviants just briskly walked through the front door. What can you-"

A muffled gunshot sounded from what sounded like the roof. "Shit! It came from the roof! Let's go!" Everyone rushed to the stairway to the roof. This is our chance!

"Listen to me very carefully, we don't have much time. I want you to get out of here calmly but as quickly as possible. Hide in a nearby alleyway until I'm able to go get you. Go!"

"How am I not going to get caught? I still have my LED and uniform!" He exclaimed.

"Okay, then plan B. You need to hurry down to the bus station. Remember this address." You quickly revised your plan and told the deviant your home address. "Hide there until we are able to figure something out, okay?"

"What if someone notices that I don't belong on the bus?" He asked fearfully.

"People are just as dumb as they look, trust me. If you want to get out of here, you have to leave now!"

He gave a quick nod and hurried on his way. As soon as you made visual that he was safely on the elevator you hurried up the stairs to the rood top. Everyone was crowding around an AC unit and what seemed to be a lifeless body. Eventually, you pushed through the swarm of officers and agents to see a blonde android lying against the metal with thirium dripping from his lower chin and lip. Oh no...

"Connor! Are you okay?" Hank had asked while he was checking Connor for any injuries. You followed the sound of his voice to see them farther away from the dead android. Connor had a splatter of blue liquid across his emotionless face.

"What happened?!" You questioned concerned.

"From what we see here, one of the deviants were still here on the roof badly hurt. All I know is that it had a gun, Connor fought it, and it all resulted in this." Hank tried his best to explain.

Connor stood there seemingly traumatized of what he had just witnessed in his eyes. You ran your hands over his cold synthetic skin to overlook his well-being. He couldn't pry his eyes away from the lifeless android. "It pulled the trigger... It looked me dead in the eyes and pulled the trigger." Connor muttered. Finally understanding a bit more, you grab his wrist and pull him away from the commotion; Hank followed behind. You and Hank escorted him out of Stratford tower and into the car.

***

You drove home as quickly as possible, so you could situate the now chaotic life that you had set up for yourself. As soon as you turned off the car, you fumbled with your things and hurried to the garage door to walk into the kitchen. The smell of vegetable stir-fry wafted through the air while the lights were dimmed to a low setting above the small dining room table.

"Mariella?" You scanned the room to see if you could find her. There was no answer. You wandered through the dark house occasionally bumping into furniture until you were able to reach the hallway. You decided to check her room first, but there you found nothing but tidiness and an empty bed. The only other room that she would've been in would be the spare room.

You quietly walked down the hallway and peeked into the bedroom. The bright blue moonlight shined into the small shadowy room to reveal the android from before resting on the mattress while Mariella stared at him longingly. Trying your best not the scare her, you slightly knock on the doorframe. Failing your original intent, Mariella jumped out of her chair on edge.

Without speaking a word, you pushed your hands lower to insinuate to calm down. She did just that while she sighed quietly. You gestured for her to come over to where you were standing. She got up from her chair and followed you out as to not wake the resting android. The two of you stood right by the sliding glass doors where the moon emitted enough light to see each other with.

"I see he made it here okay." You smiled.

"Thank you so much, (Y/n)." Mariella sobbed as she pulled you into a tight hug.

"For what?" You asked as you hugged her back.

"For everything! For not reporting me to Cyberlife. For saving this android from being reset. For not leaving me..." Mariella clung tighter to your body muffling the rest of her words that you couldn't properly make out.

"It's no problem, Mariella. You mean the world to me. You are my only remaining family left. How could I ever leave you?" You started to tear up. "You like... no, you are my mom! I could never betray you like you thought I would."

Mariella was shocked at your choice of words. Her synthetic tears glistened in the moonlight as she pulled away to take a gander at you. Her smile grew wider as she pulled you back into a wet hug. This feeling was something you didn't want to lose again. Mariella's presence seemed to make you forget that your mother left, that your father passed away, that you had uncontrollable feelings for a machine, and so on. At that moment, you forgot everything. I wish things were like this forever...

"Miss?" A voice softly spoke from a distance.

The station android stood there stiff as a statue. "Ah, you're awake. How are you feeling?" You questioned.

"Calm now, thanks to Miss Mariella here." He gave a thankful grin.

"It was no problem what so ever. I take care of my own kind." Mariella slightly bowed her head.

"I am forever in your debt." He mirrored the gesture.

"Model J-... Hold on. Were you ever given a name at Stratford?" You furrowed your eyebrows.

"No, I never was assigned one. I was either referred to as model JB300, triplet #1, or "you there". But I wasn't fully aware at the time. Now those names bring me to anger and frustration." He explained while he was clenching his fist.

"Okay then, is there a name you'd prefer to be called now?" You questioned.

The android stood there for a bit processing possible names until he mentally agreed on one. "Anoh." He said with simplicity.

"Now here's my question to you, Anoh. You have two options to choose from. Blend in with the androids, or blend in with the humans. Which do you prefer?"

"Blend in with the humans? How would I do that?" He asked furrowing his brows.

"Are you not aware of your morphing feature?" Mariella inquired.

All he did was shake his head no. You and Mariella stared a look and looked back to Anoh. Mariella focused on the ground as to not feel awkward. Anoh was not buying it until he suddenly saw Mariella's synthetic blonde hair shifted from its natural color to a raven black. He stood in awe at the sight of it. "Then all you have to do is pry the LED off and you're set to go." You simply explain.

"That is amazing, Miss Y/N!" He exclaims.

"Now you try! Come on, I'll show you." Mariella walks over to the timid android.

Anoh attempted to mirror her. At first, he failed, but a couple more tries and he was able to nail down his new look. He had the same hairstyle, but with a tinge of blonde on the tips of the hairs on top of his head. "You're already looking like a new man!" You smile which forced him to copy the action. "To finish it off you know what comes next."

"And my uniform?" He questioned.

I didn't think of that so well... There was an awkward silence in the room. "There are some spare clothes you can use." Mariella interrupted the silence.

"What clothes are you talking about" You tilted your head in confusion.

She paused for a moment. "Delton's... I kept some of your father's clothes... Don't ask me why I did it." She somberly laughed.

"I know exactly why mom. I don't blame you either. I'm truly glad you did. Now it's benefitting someone." You softly smile back.

The moment was interrupted by a pair of knocks at the front door. Mariella grew concerned as you pulled away from the conversation. "I wonder who could be stopping by around this time." You scratched your head in confusion. Only taking a step towards the door, Mariella grabbed you by the wrist full of worry. "Don't worry. I'm sure it's nothing. Just go and help Anoh with his LED and clothes."

"Are you sure? What if it's the police? What if they know about us?" Mariella whispered frantically. You had never seen her so... scared.

"Trust me. Just go into the room. I'll bang on the wall if it's anything bad, okay?" You reassured. She hesitantly nodded and pushed the android into the room he was previously in. Just as she was about to push past the bedroom door, you called out to her. "I love you, mom." You flashed a genuine smile towards her.

She looked up and gave a weak smile. "I love you too, (Y/n)."

With that, she softly closed the door and left you to your business to whoever was outside. Once you swung the door wide open, you were surprised to see who it was. "Connor?"

"Evening, (Y/n)." Connor greeted with little snow flurries decorating his broad shoulders.

"What are you doing here?" You questioned.

"Well, I'm here for two reasons. First off, earlier at the crime scene one of the station androids went missing." He started to report the case he was most likely assigned. "They sent me over here to possibly see where it might have gone."

"How would I know, I was on the roof with you guys!" You partially lied.

"For part of the time, yes you were, but not when the gun was first fired. According to some of the other present officers, you were the last one to the roof. Why was that?" Connor began interrogating.

"Connor, do we really have to do this now? I'm off work right now! Let me have my break." You complained with a slight chuckle to make it seem a bit less suspicious.

"I know, I know, but I have to. Sadly, I've been ordered to question you on the subject." He shook his head in what seemed like an annoyance. But seriousness was plastered over it rather quickly. "Well? Why?"

Frantic, you searched in your head for a perfect cover-up story. Luckily you had a very creative mind when it came to making up a lie. You did it most of the time anyhow. "You wanted me to question the androids to find the deviant. When I heard the gunshot, I went to go run to the roof entrance but could've sworn I saw a reaction from one of them. I stayed a little longer to see if any of them would do something. Anything! By then my head started to spin from everything going on that I had to get out of there." You conjured up.

Connor stared blankly in your (E/c) with his sweet brown ones analyzing your facial features. That, or trying to detect what your heart rate was to accuse you of lying or not. Keeping that in mind, you remembered to steady your breathing as to not raise suspicion. It had seemed to work, "Alright, I believe you." Connor slightly lowered his head to indicate he was apologetic.

"What was the second thing you needed from me?" You question while you mentally sigh a breath of relief.

"Oh! Captain Fowler got said to interrogate Dr. Kavin tonight just as a precaution she knows we might be on to her. Which means-" You had cut him off before he had the chance to finish.

"I've got to go back to work. Greaaaat..." You roll your eyes. "I take it you took a cab here?"

"Yes, I did." He simply answered.

"Can you wait in my car while I grab something from inside?" You rubbed your forehead; Connor nodded in response. "Awesome." You sigh as you led the android over to your garage and into your (D/c). Making haste, you rushed over to the spare room where Mariella and Anoh were still waiting restlessly.

"What's the verdict? You seem frantic." Mariella shot up out of the seat she was sitting in before.

"Do you remember Connor?" You cringe with a smile.

"The android detective?!" Mariella exclaimed but in a hushed tone. "Is he in the house?"

"No, he's in the garage in the car. But he still believes you're not a deviant. For the time being though, he can't see you Anoh. You're still at large." You explained to the confused androids.

"Wait... Are we talking about that android that you were with when he was interrogating?" Anoh furrowed his brows.

"Exactly so. I have been bestowed an assignment from Fowler." You slightly chuckle. "Mariella, where are dad's clothes?"

"I have them in my room under the bed in a cardboard box." She pinpointed the location of the clothes in an instant.

"Good, help him finish up. By the time I get back home, you should be a brand-new person. Well, almost. There's somewhere I need to go first to complete it." You scratched your head.

"What are you up to young lady?" Mariella shook her finger in your direction.

"No time to explain! Got to go! Bye, mom! I love you!" You hurried out the bedroom door and into the garage. You plopped into the slightly cold car and turned the key in the ignition. "So, tell me more about what Fowler wants from me." You joke as you backed out of the garage and onto the paved roads to head into the city.

A/N: Heyo! I apologize if the chapter seems kind of anticlimactic. I promise the next chapter will be waaay better. As for the story, I'm not giving up on it. I'm really behind on updates so as much as I don't want to do this, I'm going to have to so I can get my schedule back on track. I'm asking you readers for a short break from updating so I can get some prewritten chapters stocked up. Thank you so much! I am reaally sorry I'm falling behind on it. Until next time, Chow ^_~
