To Current Day

(Y/n)'s POV

You had a good nights rest. The new mattress felt much more comfortable than the old one that you had since you were six. You looked out to see little snow flurries outside. Decorating the trees outside your window. Ah, what a beautiful winter day. Rolling out of your warm bed you slugged over to your bathroom. The skylight was covered by heavy powder. You brushed your teeth and hair and went over to your closet.

The result of you standing in there for quite a long time was a white long sleeve, a red scarf, a black beanie, and a pair of light blue jeans with brown leather boots. You slipped over your head the quarter necklace like you did every day and went downstairs. The farther you went down the stairs, the stronger the smell of delicious food was.

"Good morning, Miss (L/n). How did you sleep?" Mariella inquired as she poured a cup of coffee into a thermal cup. As you watched the coffee pour, you began to see the image of a panda winking at you. God, I love that cup! You sat down at the small kitchen table and prepared yourself to eat.

"What'd I say about that?" You perked your eyebrows at her.

"Right, I'm sorry (Y/n). It won't happen again. How'd you sleep?" Mariella corrected herself.

"It's okay, and I slept great! How about you? How did you sleep?" You pondered.

"I am fully charged. Though we have been living here for over a year, I am still trying to adapt to resting in a bed." She smiled.

"I'm sorry I forced that onto you. I sometimes forget that you aren't... you know... human." You awkwardly chuckled.

"(Y/n), I appreciate your generosity. Truly!" Mariella said genuinely as she placed a glass plate down in front of you to enjoy.

"Wait a second, I thought you aren't supposed to feel appreciation. You know cause you're just a machine and everything." You joked around.

"I only said that for the reason to make you feel better. I analyzed your body and saw that you were apprehensive about the topic of my bedroom. So I used the collected data to make you feel more at ease. Do remember that I am here to assist you in any way possible, (Y/n)." Mariella explained in a dead tone that made you forget all about the previous conversation.

"Right, anyways I have to get to work. Captian Fowler said he wanted to see Hank and me in his office first thing. Thank you for the breakfast, Mariella!" You called out as you hurried towards the door. You grabbed your light brown trench coat and zoomed out the door.

It was off to the races to fight the daily heavy traffic. Thoughts couldn't stop wondering your head as to what Fowler needed to talk about. As you were driving you happen to look over towards all the stores and restaurants. Ha, suckers. I already got my coffee... Oh god! I need to get Hank some! You swerve over into the next two lanes to get over to the Starbucks drive-thru. You had promised to get Hank some coffee today since last Friday you may or may not had lost a bet. The bet was whoever could drink the most beer in a minute. It was foolish of you to think that you could beat him.

You bought the coffee and hurried to the office. Once you got there you looked down at your phone to see you were five minutes late. Shit! I hope Hank didn't notice I wasn't here. I don't want to hear his crap today. You tried to sneak around one of the empty desks and rush to your seat. But in the process, you smacked face first into a stranger you had never seen before.

As you examined their body you saw the model name and armband. When you finally reached it's face you knew for sure that is was an Android. It's head was slightly crooked to the side. A RK800 to be exact. "I am sorry, ma'am. I did not see you." It apologized. It's voice sweet but yet with no emotion. It was a definite reminder that it wasn't human.

"It's okay. The whole point was not to be seen, but you caught me." You awkwardly rubbed the back to your neck. "I should probably get going. I need to meet with someone." You claimed while starting to back away from the android until it stopped you.

"Your shirt. You should probably wash it out before it stains. It's very beautiful. I would hate for it to be ruined." It pointed down at your white shirt that now was absorbing Hank's coffee.

"Son of a bitch! I guess I got to go." You said as you walked away from the stiff Android.

You hurried into the women's restroom and to the sink. Thankfully you had a black undershirt on. Washing the coffee stained shirt with hand soap and hot water you silently cursed to yourself about your clumsiness. In the end, you weren't victorious. There was nothing else you could do but walk around in your black tank top. I'll just wear my coat over it. Sure I'll be hot as hell but it's better than being humiliated. You sighed and threw your trench coat over yourself.

As soon as you walked out of the bathroom you made visual that Hank and Captian Fowler were waiting for you. You held your coat tightly and made your way up to the glass office. "Look who's late." Hank mocked.

"Not now, Hank. I spilled your damn coffee all over my white shirt on my way here." You growled in annoyance.

"Enough you two. I have some news for the both of you. I am putting you on the deviant's case. I have already emailed you all the files that you're going to need. On top of that, Cyberlife has sent an Android to help you along the way. In fact, it should be waiting for you at your desks as we speak.' Fowler explained.

"What did you just say?" Hank questioned already sounding aggravated.

"I said you're on the deviant's case, and there is an Android waiting at your desks. You got a problem with that, Hank?" Fowler looked up at the agitated Hank.

"Yes, there's a problem! You know I hate the fuckers so why assign us with that piece of plastic?!" Hank shouted.

"Hank, my hands are tied, Cyberlife insisted that they send it. I don't blame them! Deviancy is starting to get out of control! We need to do something and fast. So suck it up or turn in your badge." Fowler demanded.

Hank scoffed and stormed out. Meanwhile, you stood there unsure of what to think. Surprisingly, you have never worked with an Android before. "Miss (L/n)? Are you going to start complaining as well?" Fowler rolled his eyes awaiting your answer.

"N-No, sir." You stuttered.

"Then get the hell out of my office." He dismissed you while returning to the file he was reviewing.

You showed yourself out of the office and to your desk. There you saw Hank gritting his teeth as the Android was talking. Hey, it looks somewhat familiar. As you got closer you heard the very same voice from who you were expecting it to be. "Speak of the devil, (Y/n), this is-" The android cut Hank off before he could finish.

"My name is Connor. I'm the android sent by Cyberlife here to assist you in any way I can." The android that went by the name Connor greeted. "I believe we already met."

"Uh yeah, kind of. (F/n) (L/n)." You stuck your hand out to shake it's.

"Nice to meet you officially, Detective (L/n)." Connor took your hand and shook it firmly.

"Alright! Enough of this introduction crap. Let's just go through these fucking files dickwad up there sent us." Hank said full of revulsion.

You sat down at your computer screen and logged in to the network. Hank did the same, and the two of you started to scroll through the different cases. Connor stood there looking around the room until it's sight landed on- Oh no... It walked over to where Hank was working and peered over the desk.

"It's an honor to be work with you, Lieutenant. You and Detective (L/n). I'm sure we'll make a good team!" Connor blissfully claimed while it tried to smile. It ended up looking contorted and unnatural.

Hank continued to work and ignore the android.

"Now that we're partners it will be great to get to know each other better." Connor purposed.

You just stared at Hank and Connor as this tension-filled moment got worse by the minute. The Lieutenant continued to sit there evading Connor's attempts of a conversation. You felt sympathy towards the android.

"In any case, I wanted to let you know that I am very happy to be working with you." Conner finally gave up on the failed conversation. It walked over to the set of desks across from you and picked up a magazine.

"Hank! What was that?" You whispered so Connor couldn't hear.

"The fucker is trying to hard to win my favoritism. I'm never going to like those damned androids!" He whispered back.

Out of annoyance, you sighed and focused back on your screen. There are no connections to any of the victims or suspects. You continue to think to yourself.

"Excuse me, Detective. I don't have a computer to work at. What am I to do?" Connor snuck up behind you; scaring you in the process.

"Jesus Connor! Don't do that! You scared the living shit out of me." You grasped at your chest.

"Did I scared you that much, Detective? Your heart rate has reached an abnormal pace, and your breathing seems to be irregular." Connor analyzed.

Panicking, you reached into the bottom drawer of your metal desk and pulled out a small inhaler. After three pumps you began to relax. When your breathing started to return to normal you remembered about your lung problem. "You dumb piece of shit. She has a medical condition! You can't do that crap to her or she'll die!" Hank snarled.

"I-It's okay, Hank. He di-didn't know." You slowly reassured panting.

"I'm sorry, Detective. It won't happen again." Connor said in his default tone. The last sentence he said reminded you of this morning with Mariella. This saying must be popular with these androids. Connor began to walk away until you grabbed it's wrist.

"Hey, drop the whole 'Detective' bullshit. Just call me (Y/n). It's a lot less formal." You smiled weakly. Connor smirked at your generosity. "And uh, one more thing!" You yanked it closer. "Is your offer still eligible?"

The android stood there confused for a short while until it dawned on it.

"Of course!" Connor said happily.

"That's good. Would you like to visit my house? I'm sure you'll love to meet my best friend Mariella." You chipperly explained.

Connor gave a slight smile and nodded. Almost instantaneously you were feeling excited. Mariella is going to be so happy! Well, as happy an android can be. Connor seemed to notice your excitement and chuckled. But shortly after it looked confused at itself, and it's LED shifted a yellow color. Connor went to wandered off before you called out to it.

"Wait! Connor!" You called out. The android turned around to look at you. "There is an empty desk across of the way. You can work there for the time being." You pointed to the desk not that far from your's and Hank's. Connor nodded and briskly walked over to it.

"Fuckin' androids. They're weird as hell. Why are you inviting one over? Hell, you haven't even invited me to your damn house, and I'm fuckin' human!" Hank pouted.

"Would you like to come over, Hank?" You looked over at Hank playfully.

"Hell no! Not if that thing is going to be there!" Hank snapped.

"I have a 12 pack in the fridge." You sweetened the deal.

Hank looked over at you and rolled his eyes. "Fine. You win. Send me your address and I'll be over whenever." Hank crossed his arms. "And I swear to god if you're lying about the beer I'm going to murder you and blame Connor for it."

You laughed to yourself at his comment. Guess I should finish up here. Like the flash, you sped through the files.
