(A/N I do not know anything about tutoring and not much about chemistry so sorry about my lack of information. If there is any thing very wrong point it out I will try and change it. This chapter is mostly a filler chapter but I may make it include information that will be important in later chapters.

I try and have a least one funny part in each chapter, notify me if I am successful. Now onto the chapter!)

Percy's POV

I stood outside Annabeth's chemistry classroom waiting for her as highschoolers talked to their friends and headed out the doors, done for the school day. From inside I could hear Annabeth's muted yelling, and I felt a pang of sympathy for whoever she was so mad at. The door slammed open and Annabeth stormed out silently fuming, she saw me and stalked towards me, each foot hitting the ground with a hollow smack. I gave her a nod and picked up my backpack that was lying on the ground. Together we started our way to the door, heading home.

I opened my mouth to ask what was wrong, but thought better of it and opted not to say a word.

Knowing Wise Girl she'll explode right about... now.

"Did you hear what happened," she burst out, then without waiting for me to respond continued. "The guy behind me pulled my hair in class today!"

I felt a wave of Fury wash over me, but it quickly receded. Whatever Annabeth did or was going to do would be exactly what he deserved, still he was going to get a talking to from me. I looked over at Annabeth, gauging whether or not I should ask who did it. As I turned towards her I noticed long white strands hanging on the back of her head.

Crap, I thought, spider webs. She must have walked through a web sometime during the day. If I pointed it out to Annabeth she would freak out and make a bigger deal out of it then it warranted, so I resigned myself to trying to get the webs out without her noticing. Easier said than done.

Reaching out my arm I quickly try to brush the webs away with the tips of my fingers. Unfortunately the webs stayed firmly in place.

"Why did you just touch my hair?" Annabeth said, turning to me with a confused expression.

"Just something in your hair" I responded trying to hide my nervousness, Annabeth gave me a confused look.

"You could've just told me." she said reaching up to feel whatever was in her hair, but before her hand could feel the webs I stopped her with my outstretched hand.

"Wait, I got it."

She gave me a suspicious glance but nevertheless stopped walking and turned around, waiting for me to get it out of her hair. I was tempted to try and untangle the webs from her hair, but I knew that if I took too long she would get suspicious and try and get it out herself. So I prayed to the fates that she wouldn't kill me, and grabbed the center of the tangle of webs and yanked. (I am mentally wincing for Annabeth at this part.)

Annabeth let out a yelp of surprise and pain and the webs came away in a clump of spider silk and hair in my hands.

Yup, she is definitely going to kill me. I thought as I looked at the amount of hair that had come with the webs.

Sure enough Annabeth whirled around and punched me in the arm. Hard. Now it was my turn to let out a yelp. While I rubbed my arm in pain, I managed to slip the webbing into my pocket to dispose of later.

"What was that for," she snarled, rage burning in her eyes.

"Sorry, It was a piece of tape."

"Oh." was her response, and the outrage in her eyes faded slightly. "You could have warned me at least."

"Oops" I replied acting sheepish, trying to hide my nervousness. If Annabeth found out that I tried to hide the webbing from her now, she would be furious. To draw her attention away I quickly changed the subject.

"Who was he?" I said referring to him in the past tense to the person who pulled her hair, after all you never knew with Annabeth.

"His name is Peter Parker," Annabeth spat. Lips curling into a snarl. I turned to her in surprise,

"Peter Parker, are you sure? Brown hair, short, nerdy looking." I said, surprised that Peter would do such a thing.

"You know Peter Parker?"

"Yeah, he's my science tutor. Kinda."

Flashback

Peter's POV

The bell echoed through the classroom signifying a dozen students to get up and socialize or start walking to their next class. I grabbed my textbooks and started shoving them into his already stuffed backpack. I swung my backpack up onto my shoulder and began to headed out the door when I was interrupted by a voice,

"Peter, will you stay after class for a little while? I will write you a pass for your next class."

I turned around to see my teacher, Ms.Moore, waving me over and I looked longly to where Ned was waiting for me outside the classroom. I gave him a thumbs up when he looked questionly at me and gestured at him to go to his next class without me. I turned back to the teacher and walked over to her desk.

"What is it," I asked politely, eager to get to my next class.

"The school has noticed your many unexcused absences, most of them happening during the middle of class." Ms.Moore said, and my heart stopped, were they going to expel me?

"I have talked to your guardian about this and she seemed surprisingly fine with it. But a school like Midtown can not let this just fly.

I opened my mouth to let out any number of excuses why I shouldn't, couldn't be expelled, but I was cut short by the teacher holding her hand up.

"I have talked to the principal about this, as well as you other teachers, and we agreed that you are a good student and shouldn't be expelled." I breathed a sigh of relief and the teacher continued, " But there are consequences to your actions, so as a mutual agreement the teachers have decided that you will help a failing student and tutor him for science."

"I can't tutor a student, I got, homework." I finished lamely before another excuse came to mind. "The Stark internship takes up a lot of my time, I don't have time to tutor a student and do the Stark internship."

"Well then I guess we will have no choice but to expel you." Ms.Moore said, and we both knew that there was only one clear answer.

"I'll do it."

"Whose is the student?"

"Percy Jackson, you will meet every Tuesday after school."

I stood outside the door to the science class, it was after school and everybody had already left school, save for a few extracurricular clubs and a couple teachers. And of course me and Percy Jackson. So here I was standing outside the stupid door stalling my turoring sessions with some popular jock.

Snap out of it Parker, I told myself as i wiped my sweaty palms on my leggings and pushed open the door, you fight villains as a hobby, you can take on Percy Jackson.

Percy sat in one of the chairs near the back, running a hand through his dark hair as his other hand tapped a patternless rhythm on the desk. When he saw me he gave a smile and shouted a greeting across the room.

I walked over to sit across from him, organizing my books in the corner of my desk. We stared at each other awkwardly for what seemed like an hour before I stuck my hand out in greeting.

"Hi, I'm Peter Parker. Which you probably already know, I'm supposed to be your science tutor, which you probably know too. I'm just going to stop talking now." As I finished speaking I mentaling facepalming myself.

Surprisingly I was met with a warmhearted chuckle, rather than the cruel one I was expecting.

"Chill out man, I'm not going to bite your head off. I was just hoping for some help in science." Percy was grinning, and I felt myself flush from embarrassment. "My girlfriend wasn't so happy that I got a 40% on my quiz."

I found myself grinning back, and took a moment to thinking

Maybe this won't be so bad after all

"So where do you want to start?"

After the first fifteen minutes of tutoring I could already tell that Percy was pretty smart despite his test scores. I had been teaching him how many electrons in an atom for practically a minute before he started doing it on his own. We had just moved on to the next topic when Percy looked out the window and swore.

"I have to go." He said bluntly, already packing up his bags.

"Why?" I questioned looking at the clock, we still were supposed to be tutoring for another 30 minutes.

"I have to take my bird out to go to the bathroom. Be right back!" Percy responded, already opening the door, and before I could question what he said the door shut behind him.

I stood there dumbfounded for a moment wondering what could have gone wrong that he would have to leave so quickly. I looked towards the window trying to see what he must have seen before, but outside there was nothing but a couple of people walking down the street, some trees and oddly a hint of what looked like gold dust in the air.

Before I could mull over it more, I felt a buzzing in my pocket and reached inside to pull out my phone. I opened it and read the text message from Ned.

Ned

Bank Robbery on baker street and elmwood, you free for some crime fighting!

I debated waiting for Percy but quickly threw away the notion, and texted Ned back

Peter

Heading there now

I pulled out a slip of paper from my backpack and scribbled down a messy note.

Family emergency, sorry

-Peter

So... how was the chapter?
