First round of patrolling around Hogwarts almost come to an end.

Once in a while he would stop on his pace to write down his discovery or anything that he finds out of place. And he might have caught students messing around in the empty classroom somewhere. But it's not his job to catch them, and besides, it's high school. Teenagers are in their mood to explore stuffs.

He did it too, not all the way-- just making out and all that jazz-- still, he feel guilty for his mate whenever he want to do the deed.

Though he have no clue yet to whomever that might be. He have someone in mind, or maybe he hoped it would be that person but he need a solid evidence for that.

Now Alex wonder, how would it feel when he finally found his mate. What will happen? And-- how would that said mate would react? Will they accept him? His uncle told him that if the mate rejects them, they would eventually dies in a heartbreak.

Sighs
What a sad way of living..

Maybe that's why his uncle stays the way he is. Maybe he scared that his mate will reject him.

Alex let out a yawned as he was walking towards the brightly lit hallway corner that he believes leads him back upstairs towards the entrance hall. He was just finishing his patrol around Hufflepuff dorm and did not find anything suspicious. Unfortunately.

And Hogwarts patrolling is definitely not a one man job. Well, unless ones knew about all the secret passage then it's possible. But for Alex, it was tiring.  He suddenly have big respect for Argus Filch for able to finish patrolling even before the sun rise.

Though it was hard to do but Alex did want to do a second patrol but when he met Argus Filch on the way, the caretaker offered that he'll take over since Alex have morning class. At first, the young veela insist that he did it himself but Argus told him that he would immediately knew if anything unusual had happen around the school ground since he has been doing the patrol since forever.

Alex know for a fact that the Hogwarts caretaker is right and he took the offer. Besides, he need time to think and figure out the clues, motives and anything that is necessary to aid him solving the crime. There are still so much to think about and the fact that the killer can strike their victims at any time, it's making him anxious but he  knew well, that he need to stay calm.

No matter what.

Taking a deep breath, Alex decided to make a stop at the kitchen. Ginny have told him that the kitchen is near the Hufflepuff dorm but never really get the chance to go and visit.

Alex was about to make a turn around the corner when suddenly a person was going to collide with him.

"Oof--"

The person gasped, and it was a witch. A younger witch. She was probably in Third or Fourth Year. Her eyes widened at the sight of seeing Alex as if she was caught doing something against the rule. Well, practically they both are, considering it has already past curfew.

She has her long brown hair and deep colored eyes; but that probably due to the lighting-- and if not for the freckles and bushy eyebrows, or that she's younger than the killer target, she would make it to the list. Well, depends on her blood status of course.

Alex put his hands up in surrendering motion, smiling, "I'm just a lost wizard," he said and after he said that, she let out a relief sighs.

"I thought I was gonna get caught, haha--" she chuckles, sounded slightly nervous.

"Not your first time sneaking around huh?" he asked.

The witch chewed her lips, looking at Alex with puppy eyes as she replied, "Don't tell anyone though," and tucked her hair strands to the back of her earlobe.

Alex nodded and make a zipping motion over his lips. "As long as you won't tell on me," he grins.

The witch finally smiles in relief, "Deal," she grins.

"So, um-- what'cha doin this late--or should I say, this,... early?" he decided to ask, gripping on his bag strap that was slung over his body.

The witch shows him partially of the paper bag she was hiding under her robes. "Just getting some late night food. You?"

"Same. My stomach growls so hard, I can't sleep," he lied. Then at the corner of his eyes, he notices a dark silhouette peeking at the corner of the stairs above them. He can't really tell the gender, because they have their hood above their head. Could it be--? No, there's no way it's the killer...

"I see, well... I uh," The witch quickly turn her head towards the top of the stairs as if she felt someone was looking at her from a far. "--My friend is waiting upstairs, I better go," said she and with that she quickly make her way to the stairs and meet up with the other person. Alex hears their soft giggles followed by the sound of their shoes running through the quiet hallway.

Alex let out a huge sighs and ruffles his hair. "I'm going crazy," he whispered to himself and decided to go to the Great Hall instead.

Charlotte Lee Mae, Vanessa Finley, Anjali Shakur, and Amelia Gonzales, Ravenclaws.

Priya Dugvar, Jennifer Noland, and Yolanda Yves, Hufflepuff.

Denise J. Hamilton, Felicia Huang and Hermione Jane Granger, Gryffindors.

Muggle-born, Outstanding academic performance; manage to stay in top 15 rank since First Year. Long brunette hair, brown/hazel eyes, 5'4 to 5'6 in height--

Alex absent-mindedly scribble on the clear space near the girl's profiles that he had written out. while doing the comparison with his notes. Recalling back how he has seen the girls in real-life, he scratches out Anjali Shakur, for cutting her hair short above her shoulder, which is looking really nice on her.

And Jennifer Noland, for dying her dark brunette to light blonde and not gonna lie, Alex kinda dig their new looks. It's making them seems bolder? Yeah, and for that reason, Alex is confident that they're going to be safe from the sadist killer.

Two down, Eight to go.

Sighing.

There's still no sign of movement from the killer. He wonder if they're still plotting or worse-- they already figure out who Alex is. It would be great if they would chicken out the fact that someone is after them but-- nah, this psycho ain't going anywhere. They would toy around with Alex for sure.

The wizard bit the inside of his lips.

10 years has past, and they're still doing the deeds of torturing young innocent women to feed their monstrous needs. And even worst, not only they kill their victim but also detaching their head from their body, and for what reason?

Such a horrible sight to be seen. Alex can't even imagine how would he handle it if-- if he was too late to save the witches, and found them in that state? He would definitely blame himself for sure. It won't be something that he can let go easily. It is no wonder that his uncle was losing sleeps whenever it came to this kind of cases.

A small depreciative sighs escape from his lips as he let his eyes glued back on the notes.

He wonder though.

In what way do the killer are able to enter the school ground? There's no way Hogwarts didn't perform the checkup to prevent outsider from coming in. Even if they're under the poly juice potion, there's no way a skilful wizard or witches, can't trace them.

Could it be the killer is the child of the previous killer? Like, it's something that runs in the family? Maybe like cult? Family cult

But if they're from a cult, for what reason do they need to kill these muggle-borns with specific traits? As if they're trying to find a bride or maybe someone that is pure they can possessed.

Alex scoffs at himself and muttered, "And how the fuck would they know that? Sheesh"

As much as he think it's ridiculous, he can't rule that reason out. Not until proven wrong at least.

Letting out a huge yawn and rubbed his eyes. He started to feel tired after staying awake since five hours ago.
Glancing at the tall window behind the podium, Alex could see the sun is rising up.

So he decided to put all his notes back into his bag and pull out yesterday homework.

He stares at the parchment blankly. A few minutes gone by, he finally blinks and glanced toward the doorway as students started to slowly fill in the Great Hall.

Shaking his sleepiness away, he put his homework back into his bag and decided that maybe he can steal some times later to get a good nap somewhere.

Yeah, that's sound like a great idea.
