Not once did Aizawa talk to you. He arrived in the late afternoon with just Midnight. Apparently Mic took damage too extreme to drag him all the way to this town so Aizawa took him to the hospital where the Doctor was dispatched at. Aizawa asked Midnight (more like instructed her) to stay with you until he had returned. He didn't look at you, didn't say hi or goodbye or even asked if you were alright. In a quick motion, he left through the window and disappeared.

You distracted yourself by taking care of Midnight, cleaning up the small wounds and helping her into the shower. You covered your nose with a pin to prevent her quirk from leaking up your nose. She smiled and apologized for being such a trouble to which you shook her head and told her how you didn't mind it all it. This was for taking care of you from the Red Snakes.

Midnight was so bruised up and exhausted that she had to be carried towards the bed with an arm over your shoulder. She complained about her back and ribs hurting, and from what you saw in the shower large bruises painted her skin. Upset that you were the reason for this, you held her arms as she lowered down on the bed. Pulling the blankets up you covered her body and she shut her eyes.

"Thanks jelly bean." She forced a sweet smile before turning over.

You flashed a smile as well but couldn't hide the pain. Stepping away from the bed quietly you shut all the doors and windows. Waiting for Aizawas return.

Aizawa returned the following early morning with Mic hanging off his shoulder. You heard them from the room over that was connected by a door. You opened the door and asked Aizawa if he needed help with Mic.

"I'm fine, I'm fine." Mic spike as though he was buzzed.

His body went limp in the center of the room and Aizawa huffed. He didn't want to have to ask for help so he pulled Mic up and tossed him on the bed, above the covers.

"Go to bed."

You stayed at the door and continued to watch, your hair twirling in your fingers.

Aizawa saw you still were standing in the doorway. "Am I gonna repeat myself?"

"Oh you were talking to me?"

Aizawa pulled his scarf off and tossed it onto the empty chair beside the door. He ignored the question, hoping you'd take a hint. Your fingers shook when you grabbed the door handle to close it. Your feet felt heavy and your body slumped over in sadness. You absolutely fucked up and it was all too obvious.

Aizawa saw from the corner of his eyes, your head hung low.

"Dammit." He punched the pillow and it exploded into a cloud of feathers.

This distance stuff was only making everything worse. Making you feel upset and sad would compromise the mission, a poor attitude person under protection could make things harder. He sighed and plopped down on the bed with his hands digging into his hair. This mission has proven to be a challenge in all his years.

Midnight woke up to a door closing and quickly sat up. She watched as you dragged yourself towards the chair, opening the window to sit and look out. You sighed loudly with your legs up on your chest and your chin in the palm of your hand. Midnight yanked her blankets off and hung her feet over the bed. Getting up wasn't too difficult, she felt her ribs were still bruised but she was well rested so she could move on her own.

When you notice she was walking towards you. You had apologized for being loud and gave her a smile when she sat across from you.

"Don't be," She shook her head and looked out the same window. "I'm a light sleeper after a while."

"Mmm," You looked back out. You weren't tired whatsoever. You were so worked up with how Aizawa has been ignoring you that you actually struggled to fall sleepy. "Sorry still."

"What's on your mind?"

You shook your head and forced a smile. "Nothing, struggling to go back to sleep is all."

"Yeah no it's not that. Jelly bean come on, I'm a teacher so I know when people lie."

"Add hero."

She nodded to the side, lifting her shoulder up at the same time. "Yeah I guess that too."

As much as you didn't want to tell her anything, you also wanted to be able to talk to someone. Typically, if you had any issues you would go to Min or your mom, depending on what your problems were. You started to feel alone and that was when you started to hate being apart of this.

"It's embarrassing now that I am thinking about it."

"It's alright, I'm pretty sure you'll feel better if you talk it out."

You looked to the door that separated the two rooms before sitting correctly, facing Midnight. "I kissed Aizawa... about three times now."

"Woah really?" Midnight's eyes widen with surprise and she leaned forward way more interested in what you had to say. She knew Aizawa almost her whole life and sure he wasn't the type to show much emotions but he was still a good guy.

"Well, the first two was to cover out identities. He kissed me at the club to avoid the Red Snakes then I kissed him at the market to avoid them too. But then the third time.."

"Yes?" Midnight was practically on the edge of her seat like a little high school girl at a slumber party. She was invested.

You licked your lips and looked away. It was hard to speak up and you could feel your mouth turning dry. "We... I guess you could call it training, anyways I messed up and went in for a kiss just because it felt right. At the moment."

Midnight smiled. "And how did he react?"

You lifted your arm and swung it at the door. "Clearly I messed big time because now he won't even look at me."

You huffed and sunk deep into the chair. Midnight got up and hugged your head close to her chest. She shushes you and cuddles your head.

"Now, I think I have a reason as to why he could be ignoring you but don't over think."

"To late for that."

"Did you kiss him because you liked him?"

You head pushed against her chest even more and you felt as though you were about to be smothered in her breast.

"I think so? I mean he is..." You cleared your throat and lowered your voice to a soft mutter. "He is pretty handsome."

"What was that?"

"I'm not repeating myself."

Midnight chuckled as she climbed back onto her seat. She sighed and smiled some more. "I'll have a talk with him."

"No don't. Just pretend this conversation never happened."

"No," Midnight raised her hand, making a stop motion before she continued. "Our mission is to take care of you. Him ignoring you instead of communicating is unlike him and could damage this mission."

"How exactly?"

"Basically he would end up choosing not to be anywhere near you and it could cause a lot of risk, for not just you but himself and us."

You shifted in your seat and crossed her legs.  Your shoulders slumped over when you frowned, thinking about future events where Aizawa would only talk to you through either Midnight or Mic. You imagined how he would only complete this finish by leaving you alone with either Midnight or Mic, as he stayed far away from you and faced the Red Snakes head on.

"I'll have a talk with him tomorrow and I'll make sure it's not from this conversation, I promise."

Midnight saw how you still was unsure and extended out her arm. Her pinky stuck out and you stared at it. She jerked it up and poked your hand with the pinky.

"This is where you give me your pinky."

With a chuckle you caved in and did the pinky promise with her. Afterwards, Midnight held onto your pinky and guided you to bed.

--

Aizawa was standing close to the door, leaning his body against it to hear the conversation. He was about to enter and ask to speak with you in the hallway but when he heard Midnight's voice he didn't see through with the plan. He heard most of it, some words were muffled. He gently leaned his back on the door and squatted down. He brushed back his hair and smeared his eyes with the palms of his hands.

"I need sleep."

Aizawa stared at the bed and as he stood up, he started to hallucinate a scenario. He imagined you sitting on his bed with his scarf around your hands. You were examining it, impressed by the fabric quality. A wide smile was across your face and a little smirk formed on his lips. He took a seat across from you, his hand out and being leaned on as you scooted closer. You leaned in at the same and wrapped a few straps of the scarf around his neck. Your hands rising up to his beard to which Aizawa grabbed your hands, lifting them away from his face.

"I haven't shaved."

"I don't mind. I like it."

He had imagined you say and he slowly let your hands go to return to holding his face. You pulled him in close to leave a peck of a kiss on both his cheeks and lastly his forehead. His eyes was filled with gloom as he saw this scenario as a dream. A possible dream if he would stop avoiding your affection. Something about you made him want to be vulnerable but he knew it could ruin or change everything.  He couldn't predict how he could be vulnerable since his whole life he usually preferred solitude, so imagine himself letting someone in was way more difficult than training a classroom full of future heroes.

-

Aizawa brushed the scenario off his mind.
