"So I think we should go down to the beach today." Eliza cheerfully said the next morning, she was sat on one of the bar stools around the kitchen counter eating her lunch.

Her bright idea had everyone responding with a unanimous 'yeah!'

Everyone except Rainy.

Busy prodding at her salad aimlessly with her fork, her tiresome body had not been cooperating with her in the slightest. She looked a mess; dark circles showing under her almond eyes and her hair had been straightened back in a high ponytail with the front strands left out framing her heart-shaped face. She was dressed in an oversized t-shirt that barely reached mid-thigh with a pair of strappy nude sandals on.

Elijah had assumed she had started her period due to her current mood being all over the place. She had shouted at him earlier for forgetting to put the toilet seat down and then cried because she simply felt bad for yelling at him. It had taken him an entire box of tissues just to calm her down, having to reassure her that he knew she didn't mean it.

He wasn't phased by her comment about putting the seat down, it was something she had always gotten onto him for. It was only when she had suddenly started bawling that he started to get worried about whether or not something deeper was going on that he didn't know about.

Elijah had seen her cry only twice in their entire relationship and each time she'd been on her period.

Her choice of clothing was also another indicator of her awful mood, she purposely dressed down when it was that time of the month. Well as dressed down as she could get, this was her version of not putting any effort into her look.

"Rain? Do you think you'll be able to make it to the beach today?" Elijah spoke through his mouthful, practically scoffing down the piece of toast.

Rainy could feel the bubbling guilt inside of her growing. She was so ashamed and mortified of last nights activities that she was taking it out on him. At the sound of his hesitating, she kept her head down mumbling a quiet reply to only him. "I'll see how I feel."

Why was she being so cold with him when she was the one that had royally fucked up.

She needed to tell him.

Rainy was going to tell him, she had to.

She just needed to find the right words to say; 'I love you so much and oh I accidentally let your uncle give me countless orgasms last night, please don't break up with me!"

Oh who was she kidding, she couldn't tell him.

Elijah deserved someone who was going to love and appreciate him dearly. He needed someone that didn't lie to him and valued him enough to keep only his bed warm. No one else's.

Rainy was a liar and a cheat. The two things she had despised most in the world.

Her mind was currently in overdrive of turmoil that she hadn't even noticed the sound of footsteps entering the kitchen. Elijah chuckled beside her, watching his half-asleep uncle walk into the kitchen with nothing but his boxers on. Silver was busy scratching his beard with his hand whilst yawning with his mouth wide open. Heading straight for the fridge, he opened it peering inside as he tried to find the orange juice he was in the mood for.

"Dude it's almost noon, how are you just waking up," Elijah commented clearly amused when he spotted his uncle pick up what he was looking for and close the fridge door.

Silver shrugged his shoulders, lifting the juice up to his lips as he took a generous sip. Lisa let out a loud yelp at the action, her face contorting into pure disgust. "I thought told you to stop drinking from the carton you fucking idiot!"

That was enough to only make him take another large swig, purposely making a loud gulping noise to further aggravate her. "Good morning to you to Lisa, I see you still haven't managed to get the uptight bitch out of your system yet."

"Um! Excuse you both."

Felicity gasped, shooting her siblings a glare from across the room scolding them both for swearing in front of the kids. She had been busy feeding both Cairo and Kaya who were using their toys to play fight with each other.Β  Felicity quickly fell into a heated discussion about the rules that Lisa and Silver should be following when the children were around making Lisa groan and plug her earphones back into her ears.

"Tell me when she's done." She mouthed to Eliza who only laughed and nodded reluctantly.

Rainy finally pulled her attention away from her salad bowl and looked up. Her eyes took in the sight of Silver's naked chest, drinking in his tanned body and inked markings. She couldn't get enough of his big strong arms, or the six-pack he supported.

She hated that even when he was stood right there, all she could think about was his head in between her legs.

It was making her squirm just thinking about it.

"Oh, and to answer your question Eli, I stayed up all night marking papers. Even though this is a vacation for you guys, I'm still working, unfortunately." Silver told him, taking another big sip of his drink. "That reminds me, my students have midterms coming up so I'm going to be answering emails in the office all day. If you kids want something from me then I'm afraid it's going to have to wait until after I'm done."

Eliza groaned loudly at that, getting up from her seat to put her bowl into the sink and walk over to him. "I feel like we haven't spent any time together on this trip, you're always working lately." She pouted, he rolled his eyes when she snatched the orange juice from his hands and swigged it in five big gulps. "We wanted to go to the beach today."

"And what's stopping you from going?" His voice was raspy and rough sounding. "You should think about wanting to leave soon before you miss all this glorious sunshine."

"Your uncle's right El, we should get going before the kids lose all their energy for the day." Felicity urged, shushing Cairo who heard the word beach and began to get excited.

Silver watched as the pink-haired girl in front of him huffed dramatically, though he merely shook his head when she tried to use the exaggerated sigh method on him. "Perdonami, I promise I'll make it up to you cucciolia." Reaching over to place a soft kiss upon his niece's forehead, she scrunched her nose up batting his arm.

"Zio!" She complained like a child at his sweet gesture, moving her hands up to her forehead trying to pat at her skin with ease.

"Since when are you too grown for a kiss?" He was offended, she never usually avoided his kisses. No matter how old she became, he could only ever see her as the little girl he practically helped raise. Although the twins and he were not that far apart in age, he had always been their protector.

They were a close knit family.

"I'm wearing a full face of makeup," Eliza explained, however, once she had seen his reaction she found herself getting up on her tiptoes and returning his favour by kissing his cheek sweetly. "Mi dispiace. Since you're not coming to the beach with us, can I borrow 20 bucks?"

Lisa snorted at the whole situation taking place before her, she had pulled her earphones out a while ago. "I really don't know why you treat her like a princess when you know she's going to ask you that every single time?"

Instead of answering back, Silver gave in without any suspicion and told Eliza he had money in the wallet that was on his bedside table.

"Rainy's feeling a little under the weather today so she won't be coming with us, do you mind looking after her whilst we're out," Elijah muttered as if only remembering that his girlfriend was sitting next to him. He had finished his food and was playing with Cairo when he remembered that he couldn't just leave Rainy in the house alone.

He placed a soft kiss upon Rainy's lips, nudging his bowl towards the opposite end of the counter where his uncle stood.

"Sure." Silver murmured even though he didn't mean it, he didn't have time to look after a fully grown woman. He hadn't spared her a glance the entire conversation.

"Oh, and we're taking your car, thanks bye!" The twins gave each other a knowing look, Elijah shot up from his chair and almost raced his sister out of the kitchen whilst she yelled behind her shoulder.

With that, they disappeared out of his sight causing the professor to huff out loud in annoyance.

He'd known they'd pull something like that the second he mentioned he couldn't join in on the family fun.

As the rest of the household got up to follow suit, Rainy took it upon herself to also make herself scarce. She didn't need to be stuck in a room with him again, especially not after what had happened the last time they were alone together.

It wasn't like he had even noticed her presence anyway, right? Rainy thought as she went to wash up her mess.

She reminded herself that she didn't care if he acknowledged her existence or not.

When everyone had eventually cleared out of the room, he decided to look over at her.

"What the hell happened to you?" He asked clicking his tongue whilst his wandering eyes dragged over her face. "You look like shit."
