I get a phone call from the school informing me that Auden was nearly an hour late. Which is odd, since that doesn't match up. Maybe because he walked it to school and wasn't driven by me or Hardin? No, that can't be. The school is only eleven blocks away, and he is a fast walker not a slow one like Emery and I, we walk like sloths. I messaged Hardin exactly what the school told me but he still hasn't replied yet.

I get ready since Emery has her first scan today and i want to be there for her. "Em!" I call out and immediately she comes through. "Come on, your appointment is in half an hour." She doesn't say anything back, only nods her head grabbing her shoes. We leave the building, walking to the hospital since its just by our apartment.

"Hello, what's your name?" The receptionist asks and my daughter replies with. "Emery Scott." The woman types it up and asks her "and your birth date?" Which Em answers back.

"Your room is 201." I was room 201 when I was pregnant the first time but unfortunately its not here with us. I couldn't even know what gender it was. We walk to the room and I hold back a tear. Neither Emery or Auden know about their brother or sister that is up in the sky watching above us. Me and Hardin thought it was best to not tell them and be sorry, but now all I feel is regret.

"Mum!" Emery snaps me out of my emotional thoughts. I look at her and she nods her head towards the nurse who is smiling at me. "Hello, what's your relationship with Miss Scott?" The sweet woman questions and I reply back with, "Her mother."

Why couldn't she just ask Emery if I was her mum or not?

After the scan and thousands of tears being shed Hardin picks me and Em up from the hospital because we are just to lazy, I mean we are two pregnant woman. I never expected to be pregnant at the same time as my child, if you told me this a year ago I would have slapped you silly for the weird suggestion but now, I feel blessed that we can be together and relate.

As his car pulls in get in the front seat and peck Hardin in the cheeks and Em just goes through her phone as soon as she sat at the back. "How was the scan?" Hardin asks Emery, forcing a smile on his face. He still isn't quite happy about the situation. I told him so many times to let it go but Hardin being Hardin, wants to beat up Parker, the baby father.

"It was good, very emotional." She says, which was almost like a whisper. "I'm sorry dad... for bit being the daughter you've wanted."

Hardin takes a deep breath before saying, "Your more than I wanted, better in fact. Thank you." He smiles, not a fake one but genuine, real one.

The whole car ride is silent afterwards, its peaceful... then I remembered about Auden and how he was late even though he left early. "Did you get my message?" I ask him quietly since Emery has fallen asleep.

"Yeah, I went to the school." Hardin tells me as he parks near our apartment. "They said its been happening often but because it became regular they called you."

"Somethings wrong." I tell him as Em begins waking up to leave the car. "We need to confront him, Hardin." I say as we walk up to the elevator.

"Confront who?" Em questions, fully engaged in our conversation.

"No one. Just go and get some rest." Hardin tells her, kissing the top of her head as we enter our apartment. She doesn't argue any more and I think today has made her exhausted. "I don't think we should confront him, give a bit more time." He says as we enter our room.

"No, Hardin. I know what's best for him, I am his mother!" I shout, but not loud enough to wake Emery up.

"News flash Tess, I'm his father, I also have the right to make decision for him." He says in a tone that I can't figure out, annoyed would fit the description. I was about to argue but Hardin cut me off. "Please Tess, trust me."

"I'm sorry Hardin, I don't want him to keep going school late." I say and he just mutters, "Oh, for fuck sake."

"I don't know if you realise but I want his education to be top of everything.. I don't him turn like Emery."

"And who did Emery turn out like?" He asks, looking into my eyes but he already knows the answer. "You think she turned like me.. I mean I guess I know what your on about, we both fucked people when we young."

"Hardin... that's not what I mean." I try to reason but he cuts me off once a again.

"Then tell me Tess! What did you mean? You think I became a bad role model to our kids!?" He shouts.

"You are a bad role model for our kids!" I exclaim and immediately regret it. "Hardin.. I don't know what I'm talking about." I stammer as I see the hurt in his eyes.

"If you didn't already know, I changed when you were pregnant with Emery, I made myself a better person for you and here you are accusing me for being the bad person... Did you always think i wasn't good enough for them?"

"Hardin, I never thought like that.. I just... I don't know." Tears on the verge as Hardin leaves the room. "Where are you going? It's not time to pick Auden up?"

"Just give me some time."

"Don't beat anyone up." I whisper.

"You still think I'm like my old self, you still think I can't keep my anger in myself?" He says, hurt
