THREE MONTHS LATER

Sitting at the edge of my bed with a pregnancy test, waiting for it to say positive. Emery and Auden are so keen to have another siblings so Hardin and i are trying to make their wish to come true.

As i wait i hear a knock at the door leaving the test on the bed to open the door for Hardin but i was to quick to see who was behind the door, it was a familiar face but i couldn't put my head around until i heard his voice. "Hi Tessa, long time no see"...it was Zed, i couldn't believe it after all these years of making me believe he was here for me when i was going through a tough time but no he was there to use me - to make Hardin jealous, the father of my kids. After a minute which seems an hour Zed waves his hand at my face and i register what is happening. "I know your shocked to see me here Tessa but i wanted to talk about something." He said it a polite tone but how would Hardin react when he sees his friend here - no his enemy here - "Um. Hi. Woah. What. No" i stutter with making absolute no sense. I close my eyes hoping this was all a dream - more of a nightmare, but next thing i realise is that he is inside helping himself in the kitchen. "NO, GET OUT. STOP!" I snap at Zed, he doesn't even flinch but what he said "i need to tell you something important and i want your help but if you can't its fine, honestly". My mind is going crazy but i can't help myself by saying "yes I'll help you".

AN HOUR LATER

I hear the doorbell which makes me jump but i open the door to Hardin and our beautiful kids. Before i could explain to him why Zed is here he already is in the living room. "WHAT ON EARTH IS HE FUCKING DOING HERE, TESS?" he shouts angrily. Emery and Auden head up to their room after they hear their  father shouting for the first time, yes he shouts but not like this. "I was going to explain well i don't know what i was going to say because i don't even know the real reason why he is here" i say as if im scared of what he's going to do - well i am scared of what he is going to do, i step back because im afraid of my own partner.
"Well Zed, care to explain?" Hardin says in a cool tone but looking towards me. I can see all the venom in his green eyes which surprisingly i find it mesmerizing."Actually i want Tessa to plan my wedding" He said it in a tone that I've heard before; oh it was when he was 'messing' with me. Hardin's face go back and forth to Zed's then looking at me then to Zed then looking at me, So we did this about five times until Zed said "Are you guys okay with that?". Slowly watching Harding close his eyes and waiting him shout but he surprises me by saying " No, unfortunately no. Im sorry, wait actually im not sorry you can find a different wedding planner and get out of my  house" in his calm voice. I smile at Zed but looking towards the front door to make him follow Hardin's orders. He nods and is gone, i sigh in a relief and turn to Hardin but he is gone, slamming our bedroom door out of anger behind him.

Before i go to Hardin i check on Emery and Auden to see if they are okay and what they heard is over and everything is going to be back to normal. Emery has her earphones on with her eyes closed, i guess she was trying to block everything. As i open the door the of Auden's room i see him reading a book which he got from both of us but before i can leave him to not disturb him he says "Mum, everything is going to be okay, dad is going to leave us isn't he, he said he'll never leave us but what if that was a lie?" He says with his bottom lips trembling. I go inside and sit on his bed and i hug him with my chin on top of his head and his head on my chest. I sigh but i assure him, "your father will never leave us no matter what" he answers quickly before i can say anything else, he laughs and says "how many times have we all told you to say dad not father?". I begin to giggle and i reply with "That's never going to happen".  I kiss him on the cheek and sit him up and telling him to finish his book so i could have a chat with his 'dad'.

I open the door with Hardin on the bed with his knees to his chest with the pregnancy test on his hand, i close the door behind me making us have eye contact. "Is it positive or negative?." He replies with "Negative, we should try again." With a smirk with his face he gets up towards me and pushes me to the bed gently and puts his knees either side of my waist.  "I don't think we should do this now; the kids" i say pushing him off of me. "I guess your right we should wait until they are asleep." He says with a smile in the corner of his mouth. Before i could respond he changes the subject to Zed. "When did he come?"... hoping we could just forget what just happened but i tell him "3:30pm, i thought it was you but i didn't check. Can we forget about it please?" He replies with a nod and heads out to make our dinner.
