(Song: March To The Sea by Twenty One Pilots)
At the end of my many failed attempts to surf, we decide to just put the boards away and try another day. We walk out of the water and back up to the boys.

"You guys looked great out there!" Ashton says. He definitely wasn't referring to me, though. "Especially you, Ellie. You got pretty far for your first time," he adds.

Never mind, I stand corrected.

"Oh, thank you," I say with a smile. He's probably just saying that to make me feel better, though. Not that I kind, of course. I don't know if surfing is really something I would enjoy a lot.

"Do you guys want to go back in without the surf boards? We were just thinking about heading in," Liam says.

"Yeah, I'll go back in," Ryan says. My other friends and I all nod our heads in agreement.

"Last one in is a rotten egg!" Louis screams as he runs down to the water in his shorts. All my friends except me and all the adults except Harry, Liam, and Calum rush down behind Louis. I want to wait for Harry.

"I can't believe I have a daughter who is willing to be a rotten egg just so she can spend time with her dad," Harry say as he stands up from the beach chair he was sitting on.

"Well, you're going to be the rotten egg, not me," I say. We begin walking toward the water.

"Yeah, right," he says sarcastically.

"Yeah, I am right," I say.

"Whatever," Harry says in a light voice. We wraps his arm around me and we reach the edge of the water. The water felt cold as it touched my feet, but I was used to it. Harry, on the other hand, wasn't.

"This is freezing! Why is it so cold?" Harry screams, reacting basically the same way I had when I first touched the water.

"I mean, it is November, Dad," I chuckle.

"But its also San Diego," Harry points out. He makes a good point, but I will not let him know that

"Whatever," I say in the same voice he used when he said that a few minutes ago.

"Oh god. You're too sassy," Harry says, finally walking a little further into the water with to catch up with me.

"To be fair, you started if," I defend myself. "And is there really such thing as too sassy?"

"Yeah, take a look at Louis," he says with a shrug, causing me to chuckle.

"I'm going to tell him you said that," I say.

"It's fine, he already knows," he says.

Harry walks closer to me and grabs me, holding me bridal style. "What are you doing?" I ask curiously. "Please don't throw me." It was still pretty shallow, and I'm not really in the mood to break my tailbone today.

"Don't worry I won't. I just have to make sure I go under water first so I'm not the rotten egg," Harry says with a smirk.

"And I thought you loved me," I say dramatically.

"Of course I do, but Do you really think a rotten egg would be a good parent? It's better for the both of us if you take one for the team this time," Harry says.

I laugh and lean closer into Harry. Even though it's warm outside, Harry provides me with a warmth that the sun just isn't able to.

We finally catch up to where the rest of the others are. Liam and Calum beat us and were already there. "Hey, Liam can you hold Ellie for a second?" Harry asks.

"Sure, mate," Liam replies. Harry gently hands me over to Liam and immediately ducks under the water.

"Haha! Ellie's the rotten egg," he says after he came back up and brushed the hair from his eyes.

Liam hands me back to Harry and I pout once I'm resting comfortably in his arms again.

"Technically, you're the rotten egg, Harry," Ryan says. "I mean, she went under water before you when we went surfing."

"Yeah, Dad," I say, matter of factly. I look him in the eyes and he looks back.

He thinks for a minute before replying. "Fine, I guess I'm the rotten egg," He says, defeated.

"It's okay, Harry. It happens to the best of us," Luke says, comforting Harry.

We move out farther to where the kids could barely stand. Far deeper than we were when we were surfing, and I don't like it one bit. It was so deep that I couldn't stand at all. That's what I get for being short I guess.

"I can't stand, Dad," I say quietly to Harry, grabbing onto his arm. Have I mentioned that I can't really swim that well? Because I can't. I probably look really nervous because Harry's happy attitude quickly changes to a serious one.

He grabs me and I wrap my legs around him. "I got you, love," he says quietly. Thankfully, Calum was telling a story and no one was watching us.

"Are you okay with staying out this far if I hold you? We can just move a little closer to shore if you'd be more comfortable," Harry says.

"No, it's fine. I like it out here. I just can't... swim," I say, embarrassed. What kind of teenager can't swim? I'm probably the only one.

"Hey, that's perfectly fine. There's no need to feel embarrassed. Maybe I can help you one day. I just wish I knew that before I brought you here," he tells me and places a kiss on my cheek.

I nod my head and say, "okay, thank you." Harry moves me to his side so I can still face everyone else in the circle.

"You just let me know if you start to want to move closer to shore, got it?" He asks.

"Okay," I say.

I wrap my arms around Harry even tighter. Not because I was scared he would drop me, but just because I love him.
