I was walking to lunch at school on Thursday, when I felt a hand on my arm.

"Abigail!" It was Georgia. "Thank goodness you're here today, what happened, we saw your dads tweet. Why were you in the hospital?" She asked as we walked to lunch.

"Long story." I said quietly.

"We have a half hour lunch." She reminded me as I sat down with Franchesca, Josie and all of Williams old friends. He didn't sit here anymore.

"Ok." I sighed.

"Where were you!" Josie asked quickly.

"You could of just texted me after he tweeted that." I said.

"We did." Franchesca reminded.

"Oh, ok, sorry, um, I mean, I wasn't in a great place Monday night, I was home alone, I kind of..." I trailed off, hoping I wouldn't have to say it out loud.

"Wait. Are you saying, you, tried to..." Franchesca trailed off when she saw my slight nod.

"Oh gosh." Josie leaned over to me and hugged me. "Why, oh gosh why?" She asked.

"I'm sorry." I was crying now.

"Don't be sorry, never be sorry." Georgia said.

"That's what Lin told me." I confessed, stopping crying.

"Well, great minds think alike." She shrugged, and I giggled.

"Abi, you do know you can always talk to us, right?" Franchesca asked.

"Yeah, I just felt, like, the world was pitted against me." I admitted.

"Well, it's not." Josie put her hand on my shoulder. "We're always going to be here for you."

When school ended, Lin and Vanessa were both there to pick me up.

"Hi." I greeted them, somewhat cheerily.

"Hi sweetheart!" Vanessa said, hugging me, "how was school?" She asked.

"School was school." I shrugged, "why are you both picking me up?" I asked, "don't you have work?" I turned to Vanessa.

"We just closed a case, I have some time off." She shrugged.

"And she's seeing the show tonight!" Lin yelled, as we walked away from my school.

"I'm excited." She said.

"As well you should be." Lin said, wrapping his arm around her waist. They were actually the cutest couple. "We're just going to walk to the theatre Abigail." He told me, and I smiled. I loved walking around NYC, everyone seemed to be in a rush, it was just, amazing.

We were walking down the street about 10 minutes later, when Lin looked behind him.

"Oh crap, V, turn around." I heard him whisper to his wife, who looked behind herself.

"Is that?" She whispered back to him.

"It is." He replied. "Um, Niñita." He addressed me, "you can find your way to the theater right?" He asked, and I nodded. "Ok, run there." He said.

"Why?" I asked.

"Please, just trust me. Make a run for it."

"HEY!" I heard someone yell from behind us, "YOU'RE THAT DUDE!" I quickly looked behind me, and my heart stopped. "ABIGAIL!" I heard him yell.

"Um, Lin, Vanessa, that's..." I started, and the man started running towards us.

"I know, I know, please, I don't want you to have to deal with this." Lin said, as the man and his wife reached us, "get behind me." He said, pushing me behind him a bit.

"Abigail, it's been so long." The man pushed Lin out of the way and engulfed me in a hug. "You look so good."

"Let go of my daughter." Lin said, and the man let go of me.

"Your daughter?" He asked Lin, I was standing with Vanessa who had her arm wrapped around me, somewhat protectively.

"Can we go?" I asked her, "please?"

"Yeah, come on." She led me away from them.

"Where are you going with my kid?" The lady asked.

"Away from you." Vanessa responded.

"Bring her back right now, Abigail, I am your mother."

"You are not my mom!" I spun around and yelled at her.

"Young lady. You don't speak to your mom that way." My biological father walked towards me.

"And you're not my dad." I yelled to him.

"You better shut up." He added, and I snuck behind Lin again.

"No te preocupres. Estas bien." I heard him whisper to me.

"What?" My mom asked, referring to Lin's Spanish.

"¿No hablan español?" Lin asked me and I shook my head.

"No, hablo español, pero ellos son idiotas." I replied.

"Sí." He agreed.

"English please!" I heard my bio mom say.

"Oh, I just called you two idiots." I smiled a little.

"You do not speak to your parents that way." My bio dad, Ryan, said.

"She doesn't." Lin said, "we should go." He said, trying to walk away.

"Can't we, like, get coffee?" My bio mom, Linda, asked. Lin looked at me, and I nodded a little, showing him that I was ok with it.

"Ok. Just a few minutes." He wrapped his arm around my shoulders and walked with me into the nearest coffee place. "I'm sorry Niñita." He whispered to me.

"It's ok. I mean, I was going to have to talk to them again sometime, I'm just glad you guys are here." I smiled a little, and rested my head on his shoulder as we walked in.

"We'll always be here." Lin said, kissing the top of my head.

"Do you want coffee?" Vanessa asked Lin, who nodded, "how about you sweetheart?" She asked me, and I also nodded. "Ok, I'll be right over." Vanessa walked over to the counter, and Lin and I walked over to one of the couches in the coffee shop. We both sat down, and he pulled me to lean against him.

"Um, Lin." I started, "why are they here?" I asked.

"They want their rights back." He whispered.

"Didn't they, like, give me up. Is this possible? I don't want to go with them."

"There is no way in hell that I am letting you go with them." He whispered to me, and pulled me into him as they sat down in chairs across from us.

"Give us our daughter Miranda." Ryan said to Lin.

"You're not my dad." I whispered.

"What was that?" I heard him ask.

"You're. Not. My. Dad." I repeated louder.

"And he is?" He said referring to Lin.

"Yes." I nodded, looking up at Lin, who, in my opinion, seemed decently pissed off.

"Listen," Lin started, "you terminated your rights about 3 years ago. You have no right to come to New York, and try and take her back."

"And you have the right to call her your daughter? Your wife didn't give birth to her." He said accusingly. "You didn't father her."

"She lives with me and Vanessa, she plays with Sebastian, she helps out at the theater, plays Portal with V, and Assassins Creed with me, and watches Chuggington with her one year old brother. She's my daughter, and you need to leave." Lin said, and Vanessa came back during this mini-speech with our coffee's and she sat next to me.

"That doesn't change the fact that she's not your kid."

"What do you not get?" Vanessa asked. "Having a kid isn't just about who's genes went where. She's our kid, deal with it, that means you can't take her, you can't win back her rights, and you can't call her your daughter." Vanessa added.

"Niñita," Lin looked at me, "vamos." He said, and I got up from the couch. "Don't try and find us again." He said to Ryan and Linda. "Te amamos Abi, vamonos a él teatro. ¿Quieres ver lo hoy?"

"Sí, y gracias. Te amo." I replied as we left the coffee shop.
