Lin's POV

We sat there with Abigail, fast asleep, for about an hour and a half, before we remembered the time.

"Oh, crap, it's 7:30, I have to get to work." Vanessa said, standing up. "And you buddy, need to go to daycare." She picked Sebastian up from Abigail's bed, he was sleeping next to her. She grabbed her purse, and hoisted Seb onto her hip, "call me the second she wakes up." She said, kissing me, then turning to Abigail and kissing the top of her head. "Bye!" She said on her way out.

"Bye!" I called back to her, then I processed the time. Oh crap, I had rehearsal at 8:00 today, I need to call Tommy, I fumbled for my phone in my pocket, finally getting it out, and was grateful I had him on speed dial.

"Hey Lin, why are you calling?" He asked, as he picked up the phone.

"Hi Tommy, listen, thanks for picking up, I really can't make rehearsal today, I'm so sorry."

"Oh, it's fine, everybody misses a day or two. If you don't mind my asking, why?" I looked at Abigail, who was twitching a bit in her sleep.

"Oh, um, Abigail's in the hospital, she, um, downed a bottle of Benadryl this morning." I managed to get this out without crying.

"Holy crap, is she going to be ok?" He asked.

"Yeah, she'll be fine, she's out of surgery, they got the drugs out, she's sleeping right now, I just, feel like she shouldn't wake up alone."

"Yeah, seriously, stay there, I hope she feels better. I'm so so sorry, when she wakes up tell her I really love her."

"Will do." I replied, smiling a little, "actually, can you let everyone know for me? I mean, they're her family too."

"Sure, also, is it cool if I stop by the hospital sometime later today?" He asked.

"Oh gosh, that would be awesome, Roosevelt."

"Alright, rehearsals starting soon, I'll talk to you later, you'll be here tonight though? Right?" He asked.

"Yeah, definitely." I confirmed, "bye! See you soon." He returned my goodbye and I hung up the phone.

I sat for an hour next to Abigail's bed, until I really had to pee. I mean, I hadn't left her alone since she got out of surgery at 6, it's 9. I gave a little mental prayer that she wouldn't wake up while I was gone, and bolted.

I was on my way back into her room, when I saw nurses rushing in there, for what seemed like the hundredth time today, my heart somersaulted and splashed into my stomach. I ran back into her room after them, and saw her thrashing slightly in bed, still asleep. Her heart monitor freaked out, and I recognized what was going on, I knelt by her bed and put my hand on her arm.

"Niñita, calm down, it's ok." I said.

"Sir, I don't think that's..." The man stopped talking when he realized her heart monitor was back to normal and she was resting peacefully. "How did that work?" He asked.

"She gets nightmares." I confessed, getting back into my chair.

"Ok, so, we're taking her off of the heart monitor, if you think this could happen again, I mean, she had her stomach pumped, it's just a formality, and, well, if she gets nightmares." He said, disconnecting her from the machine that sat next to her bed.

About a half hour later, I heard a knock at the door.

"Come in!" I called to the door, and looked over at it. Javi came in holding flowers and a card.

"Hi, I brought these for her, hopefully she likes them, how's she doing?" He asked, and before he could set either the card or the flowers down, I hugged him, sobbing again. I need to work on that.

"Thank you." I choked out.

"Hey, hey, you're welcome." He said, detaching himself, and setting the flowers and card down. "Tommy let us out early, he said this was more important, so, you may receive more, ya know, visitors. I just hope she feels better. She truly is an amazing kid." He said, smiling.

"Yeah, yeah she is." I nodded, smiling at her. I heard the door open again, and it was Thayne, Seth and Andrew. Thayne was holding a stuffed dog, and Seth was holding a box of chocolates and a card.

"I should go, don't want too many people in the room at one time." Javi said, patting me on the back before leaving.

"Are you ok?" Andrew asked me, as they walked in.

"Yeah. She's fine too, thanks for asking." Apparently, I could still be sarcastic.

"Well," Andrew said, laughing a little, "she asleep, but I can try." He cleared his throat, kneeling next to her bed, "Abi, sweetheart, are you feeling ok?" He said in a very patronizing voice, she was rolled over so her back was facing him, then, in her sleep, she rolled over and her arm was extended, so she essentially hit Andrew in the face. That cheered me up. "Well then." He said, laughing a little, "we brought you chocolate do you want some before Thayne eats all of them?" He asked.

"I am not eating all of them." Thayne said from behind me, his mouth obviously full of chocolate. "I can make up for it though, I brought her a puppy dog." He walked over to her bed with a large stuffed puppy dog, and put it next to her in bed, she immediately wrapped her arms around it and snuggled down into it. "Awe!" He said, looking at her.

People came by to check on her all day, and by 4:00, her room was full of balloons, stuffed animals and flowers. I was beginning to think she wouldn't wake up until tomorrow.

"Hey Lin, hey Kid." Daveed said, coming in with pink roses a card and a stuffed pig. He set all three of these things on the remaining space of the table in the room. "How's she doing?" He asked, sitting in the chair next to mine.

"She's ok, at this point we're waiting for her to wake up, I decided, she needs her sleep. Let her sleep." I sighed.

"Yeah, I mean, she's like a mini-you. She's always tired." He laughed a little.

"Yeah. She is." I agreed, right as I said this, she started thrashing again, crap, another nightmare.

"Woah! What's going on?! Is she ok? Should I run get a nurse?" Daveed asked, standing up.

"She's fine, she's fine." I sighed, "Sweetheart, calm down, you're ok, you're safe. I'm here." I whispered to her, putting my hand on her waist. Again, like last time. She stopped.

"What just happened?" Daveed asked.

"She's been getting nightmares. Abuse nightmares." I pushed my hair out of my eyes. "I guess I calm her down." I admitted.

"Well, that's precious."

Daveed left a little while after that, and I ended up sitting in my chair, with my head in my hands. I wasn't crying, I think I was cried out, but, I was afraid, afraid that what happened would change who my daughter was.
