It had been 3 months since Lin had promised to help me. Nothing really changed, Nick, Sam and Luke still beat me up, William and I had become friends which had been really nice, it's hard to make good friends when you're in Foster care, I mean you move a lot. Speaking of moving that was probably going to happen soon for me. Christmas was 3 weeks away, I would bet money on the Walters returning me before then, I haven't had celebrated Christmas since I was 12 with my own family. Families don't want to spend the extra money to get gifts so unless they really like you, you don't stay for Christmas.

I was getting ready for school that morning whilst listening to Hamilton, which is basically the most WAKE UP music ever, I curled my hair softly and pulled some back. I put on boots, jeans, a black shirt a white jacket and a black and white scarf, which was a gift from William. I walked to school with Nick shivering, I hate New York winters.

"You know you're leaving right?" Nick asked while we walked

"Yeah, I always leave this time of year, then your parents will need to get a new Cinderella." I responded.

"I think in some weird way I'm going to miss you." Nick snaked his had around my waist and I squirm away

"Don't touch me." I commanded and began to speed up. I could feel him watching me, it felt disgusting, he never got back together with Sarah, he's been single for too long, he walked next to me and wrapped his arm around me.

"You must be cold, I'm pretty hot, so I should be able to help with that." I rolled my eyes

"You proud of that one?" I asked my voice full of annoyance. "Why are you trying to make a move on me anyways? You keep telling me how ugly I am, you want to date an ugly loser?"

"I wouldn't say date specifically." Nick said while his hand left my shoulders and went down and finally landed on my butt. At this point we had reached the schools so he slapped me on the butt and ran off to go see his friends, all of those boys had punched me at one time or another so I didn't make eye contact and I walked right into school.

I really hate Nick. Honestly, I'm so glad I only have to put up with him for one more week. I smiled as I saw William talking with some of his friends, they were kind of cool so I walked over.

"Hey Roonie!" William exclaimed when he saw me, don't ask me where the nickname came from, I have no idea, he put an arm around my shoulders and hugged me close to him while he talked to his friends. I rested my head on his shoulder and closed my eyes. William was so fantastic, he was always there for me, whenever Nick was drunk, or when Mr. Walter was in a bad mood, I came over to his house, I don't know what I did before him.

"Hey Abigail, you awake?" Williams friend Dixon asked me. I opened my eyes and they all laughed.

"Yeah, I just need caffeine, and sleep." With that I yawned and leaned on William's shoulder again.

"You are the cutest couple!" A student said, and I opened my eyes and picked up my head. William smiled and looked at me.

"We're not dating, we're just really good friends, right Roonie?" William said, turning to me.

"Yeah, just friends." I said and smiled at him. Right then the first bell rang, signifying that I had to go to Spanish, I gave William a hug goodbye, and then we walked away in opposite directions.

Spanish was easy, about halfway through Choir, I was called to the office because there was a letter for me there. I walked down to the office and picked up the letter. It was from Lin, I quickly walked back to class and opened the letter, I read it in class it said;

Dear Abigail,

I'm sorry, I'm just getting to you, but I had to make sure everything was in order before sending this letter. I felt it more appropriate to send this to you at school, as the Walters probably screen your mail, anyway, please respond with the date and time you will be moving out of the Walters house, I'll be there to pick you up.

Love, Lin

William was reading this over my shoulder and he whispered, "You're moving?"

"Yeah, I don't have a definite time or date though, everyone sends foster kids back this time of year." William nodded, and we both resumed singing simple Christmas Carols for our Christmas Festival.

Thanks for making it this far, I'm sorry the beginning is so slow, I just don't want to rush into anything, I have a couple of questions,

1) What do you think of William and Abigail?

2) What else do you think I should do with the story, other than the straightforward?

Reminder: I welcome critique and comments!

Thank you for reading!
