I woke up on Sunday morning to my phone softly buzzing near my ear, I picked it up and looked at the screen.

Mothers Day

A smile spread onto my face, it was Mothers Day. I quickly got out of bed, taking the time to make my bed as well. Then, I left my room, still in my Playbill pajamas, and went into the kitchen. I was making coffee when I heard a voice behind me.

"Peanut, what are you doing?" I spun around to see Lin walk into the room, tying his hair into a ponytail, wearing sweats, a Mario Cart shirt and slippers.

"Coffee." I said, in an attempt to explain, holding up the pot.

"Yes Peanut I see that." He said, laughing a bit. "I meant why? Why now?"

"It's Mothers Day." I said putting the pot back down.

"Yeah, I knew that, but, you're supposed to make coffee last, because it needs to be hot." He walked over to me, and put the pot back into the coffee maker, and pulled bacon out of the fridge.

"Oh." I said, "sorry." I muttered.

"It's not bad Mija." He said, laughing a little. "I can help with breakfast." He added.

"Okay." I smiled, and walked over to him at the stovetop. I reached over and pulled strips of bacon out of the package, and started laying them out on the griddle.

"What kind of pancakes?" I heard him ask, and I looked to my right to see him staring into the open cabinet.

"Well, she always makes blueberry, so, but, chocolate chips are good, and it is Mothers Day." I couldn't come to a conclusion.

"Both." I heard Lin say, and I saw him pull a bag of chocolate chips out of the pantry, along with pancake mix, "can you grab blueberries from the fridge sweetie?" He asked, and I nodded, reaching over to the fridge to retrieve the blueberries. I grabbed the box, then handed them off to my dad who was reading over the instructions on the pancake mix box.

"How much bacon?" I asked, as I had filled half of the griddle.

"Mija." I turned around to look at Lin who was staring me with a dead and confused expression as if to ask, 'really Abi? Really? You think that there is a limit to how much bacon is an appropriate amount because darling you're very very wrong.'

"Okay. Sorry." I said, turning back to the griddle.

"I see we can now communicate psychicly, Mija, what am I thinking about?"

"If the trainees in Chuggington know that they are being trained to serve humans and will live out their days as slaves then end up revolting a la Free State Of Jones."

"Actually I was thinking more along the lines of whether or not they enjoy serving the humans of Chuggington or if they have some deep seeded hatred behind their manufactured smiles, but, remarkably close sweetheart." I looked behind me to see Lin smiling at me. "I like your pajamas by the way." He added.

"Oh, thanks." I smiled, looking down at my 2015 season Playbill pajamas, "you bought them for me." I said.

"Yes I did Peanut, but, well, I still like them." He said, starting to mix the batter.

"Thanks." I said, starting to make sure the bacon didn't attack me via the griddle.

"You're very welcome." He added.

I finished with the bacon and I pilled all of the strips onto a plate.

"I'll go get Seb dressed." I said, leaving the kitchen.

"Alrighty." Lin called from the kitchen, as I walked into Sebastian's room.

"Hi buddy." I smiled, seeing him in bed.

"Sissy!" He squealed a little, and my heart warmed a little. I was his sister, he didn't know any better, but that's all he called me, he never called me Abigail or Abi, always Sissy or Hermana, sometimes Hermy which prompted Lin to call me Hermione. Just, I loved that I was always Sebastian's sister, he probably didn't even realize we weren't related.

"Hi." I repeated, then picked him up from bed. "Do you know what today is?" I asked the little boy on my hip. "Today is Mothers Day. It's all for Mama, a whole day for our mom." I smiled, then started looking through his closet, eventually pulling out a striped t-shirt and overalls. I changed him and pulled socks on his little feet, then picked him back up and walked into the kitchen, where Lin was putting pancakes onto a plate.

"Oh you brought me my son." He said, turning around. "Homeboy you wanna go get mamas present?" He asked, taking Sebastian from my arms.

"Papa!" He squealed, as he passed from me to Lin.

"I'll take that as a yes, Mija, can you make coffee?" He asked, and I nodded. "Thanks." He smiled then ran with Seb down the hall to Sebs room.

I sighed, and started making coffee, once I had finished I went back into my room to retrieve Vanessa's gift that I bought her yesterday when Renée took me shopping between shows, and don't worry, I didn't make Renée buy my mom a Mother's Day present, I bought it.

"Are we bringing her breakfast?" I asked, walking into the kitchen holding the gift bag, with her card.

"Yep, I put it on a tray, I'll carry it, can you carry your brother?" He asked.

"Sure." I smiled, and picked up Sebastian from the floor, he was holding a box which I assumed held Vanessa's present.

"Awesome, thanks Mija." He said, and the three of us went into their room. "Vanessa? Sweetheart?" Lin whispered, as his wife was still asleep in bed.

"Huh? Yeah?" She asked, rubbing her eyes and turning over.

"Happy Mothers Day!" I smiled at her, bouncing Sebastian on my hip.

"Oh, awe, guys, thank you." She said, pushing herself up in bed. "Honey come here." She held her arms out to Lin, who set the tray of breakfast next to her in bed, and hugged her.

"Okay, we have gifts V." He said, pulling away a bit, then taking Sebastian from me, and setting him on her lap. "This ones from Sebastian." He said.

"Oh, did you get me a present Mijo?" She asked, and Sebastian handed her the box. She opened the box, to reveal a gorgeous necklace with a matching bracelet and earrings. "Oh Sebastian." She giggled a little, "you shouldn't have." She smiled, and hugged the little boy on her lap.  I sat on their bed, at my moms feet, while Lin had gone around the bed to sit next to her. She closed the box and set it on the table next to her bed.

"Uh, Mom?" I started awkwardly, I didn't know how to give her her present. "Um, happy Mothers Day." I smiled, and handed her the bag.

"Awe, thank you sweetie." She smiled, taking the bag from my hand. She opened it, and pulled out several records that I found in a Barnes and Noble, they were all different rappers that I was not familiar with, but Lin and Vanessa adored, following the records was a notebook, and various books. I was a terrible gift giver, I didn't know how to get a deep point across through a gift, like, ugh, I suck at this.

"Sick." I heard Lin say, holding one of the records.

"Abi this was so sweet, oh darling thank you." She said, reaching over to give me a hug. I noticed she had set the card aside, and I hoped she would read it later, but at the same time, I mean, it was really sappy.

"You're welcome." I said, and noticed that Seb had wandered off.

"So Lin, Sebastian's gift..." She started, then trailed off.

"Well," he started rubbing the back of his neck, "technically he did pick it out." He admitted, "I mean, he started pointing to it at Nordstroms so..." He trailed off.

"I love it." She said, somewhat cutting him off.

"I'm glad." He replied, then climbed on top of Vanessa. "But, this is from me." He said, and kissed her.

"I... I'm gonna go keep an eye on Sebastian." I said, standing up, and trying to get out of this awkward situation.

"Oh. Kiddo, sorry, sort of, I, low-key forgot you were, sorry peanut." Lin said, looking back at me.

"It's fine, continue, I'll just, I'll be in the living room." I laughed a bit to myself then retreated to the living room, where I planted myself in front of the TV. "Hey Sebster!" I called, to see my little brother come running into the room. "Do you want to watch Chuggington?" I asked the little boy, who in response started jumping up and down. "Okay, but don't tell mommy and daddy, they don't want to miss out." I said, and scooped him up onto the couch, to sit with me.

After I started the episode, I pulled my phone out and tweeted.

@AbigailLeighMiranda - Happy Mothers Day to @VAMNit, a woman I still cannot believe lets me call her mom. You're amazing, I love you.
