Adelaide let out a long, heavy breath. She wasn't sure how late it was, but the sky outside the windows of the library had gone dark. She had stayed in there all afternoon in an effort to try to catch up on some of her coursework. She hadn't truly accomplished much as she kept getting distracted by the people going in and out of the building. They weren't noisy by any means, but they drew her attention at a time when she was looking for distractions. Nobody wants to do school work on their free time and Adelaide was no exception.

Adelaide didn't know how she had managed to stay in library for so long. However, her stomach grumbling had begun to set her straight. Being in the library hadn't been worth skipping dinner, but it wasn't like Adelaide had intended to do so. She just got caught up in the peace and quiet, blocking out all outside matters.

Finally coming to the conclusion that she would not be getting any more work done at this point in time, Adelaide began stuffing her school books and papers back into her bag. Swinging it over her shoulder, Adelaide took her leave. The library was practically empty at this point in the evening, therefore it took her by surprise when she bumped straight into someone right outside the library doors.

"Oh-" She gasped, stumbling slightly upon the collision. Two rough hands shot out to her arms in an effort to help steady her. Adelaide looked up to see a boy she had never seen before. That didn't mean much considering she had only arrived on campus a few days before, but it was still an unknown face to her.

"Sorry about that." The boy chuckled nervously, scratching the back of his neck after pulling his hands off of her. "I should've been paying more attention."

Adelaide only nodded her head in response, still stunned from the awkward crash. Well, her slow responses also may have been impacted by the fact that she hadn't eaten yet, making her a bit foggier than normal.

"Are you new here?" He asked, giving her a curious look. "I don't think I've ever seen you around. I think I'd remember if I had." He continued.

Adelaide cleared her throat softly before responding, "Yeah, I only got here a few days ago. My name is Adelaide." She sent him a small smile, trying to ease the awkward tension.

"Well Miss Adelaide, Wyatt at your service. I'm pleased to make your acquaintance." He sent her a cheeky smile in return, earning him a slight giggle. His eyes twinkled faintly of amusement as he grinned at her, "I guess I'll be seeing you around, Adelaide. Until next time." He sent her a wink before disappearing through the doors of the library and completely out of sight.

Adelaide shook her head before once again taking her leave with a small smile planted on her face. Adelaide would be lying if she said Wyatt wasn't attractive. Dark, tanned skin with brown eyes and jet black hair. He was tall and skinny but still slightly toned, showing that he looked after himself. Even if he was attractive, Adelaide was hoping for nothing more than a potential friendship. It may have been a short lived interaction, but the boy seemed charming and funny enough. Adelaide wouldn't mind having another friend as she didn't see any reason why it would hurt.

Putting that thought into the back of her mind, Adelaide trekked through the moon-lit night and towards the cafeteria in hopes that she could grab a small snack that would tide her over until the morning. She wished for nothing more than to curl up in bed and get a good nights rest.

2:17 am

Adelaide rubbed her eyes with her knuckles as she gazed at the clock. She had only gone to bed three hours prior and had been in a deep sleep. Not knowing what had woken her up left her in a confused state as she tried to gain her bearings.

She had just begun to doze off again when there was a harsh, rapid knock at her door. She shot straight up, eyes wide and hair sticking up in all directions. Furrowing her brows, she stumbled out of her bed, almost tripping as she walked to her door.

Adelaide had barely opened her door a crack when she was pushed back by someone on the other end shoving their way in. Gasping, Adelaide tripped backwards and slammed harshly into her wall. Eliciting a groan of pain, she crumbled to the ground as her back tingled from the hit.

It took her several seconds to register the other person in the room with her. Looking up, Adelaide could hardly make out the back of a tall boy. He had quickly closed the door behind himself and was leaning with his head against it, breathing heavily.

Adelaide opened her mouth with the intention of speaking, but her throat was so dry from just waking up, that she was unable to form any sounds.

Levi's face came into view as he turned around to face Adelaide. He flashed her a wide grin, yet again throwing off the already baffled girl.

"Morning, Addie." He greeted in a whisper.

"I-Wha-" She could hardly think. The lack of sleep and abrupt turn of events had Adelaide's head pounding.

Levi's grin only seemed to widen at her befuddlement, not bothering to explain his unexpected arrival. He kicked off his shoes and pulled off his shirt as he started walking towards Adelaide's bed. Adelaide could only watch his movement in disarray, unable to bring her body to function again.

Levi ran his hands through his hair and tossed his shirt off towards the corner of her room. His belt quickly followed. He was just about to dive onto Adelaide's plush looking bed before he stopped himself, spinning around with furrowed brows.

"C'mon, Addie. I'm trying to sleep here; get a move on." He rolled his eyes and gestured for her to come towards him.

Adelaide shook her head unconsciously, working to get her thoughts caught up to the random situation she never thought she would face.

"Wha-Why're you here?" Adelaide's voice came out so thick in sleep, Levi couldn't help the return of his grin.

"Thought I told you to stop asking about shit that doesn't concern you?" The question was rhetorical, but all in good fun as Levi walked towards her, stopping at her feet. He leaned down and helped her up, pulling her into him as he walked her to the bed.

"It does concern me." Adelaide looked up at Levi expectantly, but was met with silence in return.

Levi helped Adelaide onto the bed before crawling over her and taking up the other half, in between her and the wall. It was a small bed, not leaving much room for two people. There was no room for personal space and Levi's solution was to just pull Adelaide onto his chest so she wouldn't fall off the side of the bed.

Adelaide was so confused by everything else that she hadn't thought much about what Levi was doing or how the two of them were now positioned. She just wanted to understand why he had shown up and why he had been breathing so heavily when he got there.

Before she could voice any of her impending thoughts, Levi changed the course of the conversation. "Did I hurt you?" He asked just above a whisper.

Adelaide didn't need to respond; he already knew the answer when she winced after he had helped her off of the floor before.

"I'm sorry. I hadn't meant to push you back like that." He murmured, playing with her hair that had splayed out on him because of her head resting on his chest.

"I know." Adelaide whispered. She let out a soft breath and let Levi playing with her hair lull her to sleep. She had so many unanswered questions, but the lack of sleep had caught up to her. She couldn't have kept her eyes open any longer, even if she had tried.
