All the group's laughter abruptly died upon Levi's unexpected arrival. His presence caused a shift in the air, creating an awkward tension that nobody seemed to want to address. He was leaned forward with his elbows on the table, clenching his hands together tightly in front of himself. His eyes hadn't shifted from Wyatt, sizing him up.

After a few long moments of nobody speaking, Nessa cleared her throat to answer Levi, "Levi, this is Wyatt. Wyatt, Levi." Nessa gestured with her hands, but neither of the two boys spared her a glance as they were too focused on their staring contest.

Adelaide shifted uncomfortably, leaning her body away from Wyatt. He hadn't had his head resting against hers anymore, but his arm was still resting atop her chair, almost tying her to him.

Her movements unfortunately captured the attention of Levi who gave her a once-over before narrowing his eyes at Wyatt's arm. She tried to look anywhere except for Levi, but was failing miserably. His presence had the habit of commanding attention and Adelaide wasn't practiced at resisting it.

"I know who he is. I asked what the fuck he thinks he's doing." Levi clarified, his voice soaked in disdain.

"I invited him to have lunch with us." Adelaide didn't know why she answered, but she couldn't help from feeling defensive. Wyatt was her invited guest for lunch and Levi was ruining the previously joyous mood.

"Oh did you?" Levi's eyes shifted back to her, his voice now taking on a taunting tone.

"You're being a real jerk, Levi." Adelaide balled up her fists under the table in frustration. Levi had been treating her and everyone else around her poorly for far too long, she was getting fed up.

Levi's face turned into one of stone as he quickly stood up, forcing his chair to scrape behind him. Before Adelaide or anyone else realized what was happening, Levi reached out and took hold of her upper arm and dragged her behind him out through the cafeteria doors. She heard shouts after them, but Levi was moving too quickly for anyone to have caught up.

"Levi!" She gasped, once her mind caught up with the unfolding events. She wasn't sure where Levi was leading her and she wasn't thrilled about the idea of being alone with him, especially after the unkind words he had said to her the last time they were alone.

"Shut up, Addie." Levi spoke gruffly and continued to pull her along behind him, letting his hand slip down her arm so as to adjust his hold to her wrist for a better grip.

Adelaide tugged and pulled at his fingers, trying to pry him off of her wrist.

Eventually Levi reached a building Adelaide had never been into before. She was now weakly pulling at his hand, but was too distracted by her new environment to resist with any real effort.

As Levi stepped into the building, Adelaide realized it was another dormitory; a boy's dormitory. Now there was no question as to why Adelaide hadn't been inside it before.

Levi gave Adelaide another tug as he took the steps two at a time, causing Adelaide to almost fall as she attempted to stay on pace with him. Apparently her attempt wasn't good enough for Levi as he turned around, letting go of her wrist before picking her up and throwing her over his shoulder. Adelaide yelped, clutching onto the back of his shirt as she looked down the stairs. Fear striking her in a way that prevented her from struggling anymore. The last thing Adelaide wanted was to fall down to the bottom of the very rough, wooden staircase.

Levi carried Adelaide up the stairs with ease, walking swiftly and deliberately as he navigated the corridor. He stopped for a brief second in front of what Adelaide assumed was the door to his room before he stepped inside and shut it behind him.

Adelaide was in the process of opening her mouth to demand that he put her down when she was carelessly dropped onto his bed. She couldn't contain her surprised gasp as she bounced from her unexpected landing.

Levi stood with his arms crossed with his body facing her, but his attention was focused outside. At what, Adelaide didn't know. She gripped the edge of the bed uncertainly, unable to wrap her head around what Levi had done.

"Levi..." She trailed off hesitantly, "I-I don't understand." She confessed, not knowing what else to say to get across her confusion.

Levi didn't speak a word. If he hadn't turned his head to look at her again, Adelaide would have thought he was ignoring her.

She licked her dry lips before speaking again. "I mean you-you come to my room and sleep in my bed and then...disappear..." She brought her hands to her hair while pulling at her roots in frustration, unable to stop the word vomit that had begun to spew out of her mouth. "You're mean to me all the time and treat me as if you hate me, but then force me to be around you. I just- I don't get it." Her eyes filled up with unshed tears, trying desperately to comprehend what she had done to cause Levi to treat her like this.

The silence grew thicker between them as Levi just stared down, studying Adelaide who had shifted her focus to her hands so as to give her best effort to not break down.

Finally, after several minutes, Levi spoke, "I don't hate you, Addie. I just can't like you."

Adelaide's head snapped up, staring at Levi in further disbelief. "You can't like me?" She asked, seeking clarification.

Levi made no attempt at a response. This time actually ignoring Adelaide's question, he changed the topic. "What's with Wyatt?" His face was turned up sourly again, displaying his repulsion towards Adelaide's new friend.

"Wyatt is my friend." Adelaide responded softly, fiddling with the end of her skirt. She didn't like how Levi had acted towards Wyatt at lunch and it was upsetting her that he had made her guest feel unwelcome.

Levi scoffed, throwing his head back slightly to look at the ceiling before looking down at Adelaide again. "Friend my ass. He was pretty fucking comfortable around you. I wouldn't call what he was doing friend behavior."

Adelaide furrowed her brows. She did admit that Wyatt had been a bit touchy and she was afraid of giving Molly the wrong impression, but she didn't think Wyatt was trying to come onto her. He was just a friendly person and she didn't see anything wrong with that. She liked that Wyatt was just as happy to be her friend as she was to be his, it made Adelaide feel included.

"I think you're reading too much into it." She responded looking up at Levi. He looked livid, causing her to shift nervously. His body was tense which made his arms bulge in their crossed position and his jaw to sharpen from being clenched.

"I swear to you, Addie, if I see that shit again, he'll be unrecognizable by the time I'm done. I mean it. Cut that shit out."

Adelaide frowned. "Why do you care? Wyatt is my friend and you're not. You don't even like me" She crossed her arms, feeling defensive.

Levi leaned down, taking hold of her chin and forcing her to lift her face to meet his eyes. "Just cause I can't like you doesn't mean I can't have you. Fix this shit or I will."
