"Adelaide are you okay?" Nessa gushed with concern after spotting Adelaide's arrival.

"I-Um..Did you want to come in?" Adelaide wiped her tears with the back of her hand, trying to shove down her feelings. She didn't like being so vulnerable in front of people, not like this.

Adelaide unlocked her door and let Nessa walk in first, shuffling in behind her and softly shutting the door. Nessa took a seat at Adelaide's desk, swiveling to face her. Nessa's entire face was wrinkled with worry. She even gripped the edge of the seat as she looked at Adelaide expectantly, waiting to hear what had upset her.

"I'm just being silly. Honestly, Nessa, I'm fine." Adelaide hiccuped at the end, most likely an effect from forcing herself to swallow her sobs. It wasn't truly working, however, since her eyes were still filled with unshed tears.

Nessa frowned, shooting Adelaide a look that showed just how much Nessa wasn't buying the bullshit Adelaide was laying out. "Girl...I'm here for you. I'm not going to judge you or anything else you might be worried about. Let me be a friend to you."

Adelaide sighed, looking out her window. She carefully made her way over to her bed, kicked off her shoes and sat criss-cross, bringing a pillow into her lap before carefully recounting exactly what went down with Levi only minutes prior.

-

"Oh that absolute ass! I'm gonna punch his stupid little face the next time I see him." Nessa sucked her teeth, seething in anger on Adelaide's behalf.

"I don't even know why I'm so upset. I honestly didn't think his visit to my room meant anything, I was just mostly confused and wanted answers. Am I crazy for having been worried?" Adelaide asked, picking at her nails nervously as she spoke.

"What the fuck?! Of course not. You have every right to want to know what that was all about. Him pulling some bipolar, douchebag shit on you is nobody's fault except for his. I can't believe he actually fucking said that to you." Nessa was now pacing around the room, shaking her head and looking around in disbelief.

"Thank you for listening to me, Ness." Adelaide thanked her softly, looking up at Nessa and hoping her sincerity was clear.

"Oh, I'm going to do a lot more than just listen. Just wait until I get my hands on him."

Adelaide spent the rest of her afternoon being comforted by Nessa. She definitely felt a lot closer to her after this new bonding experience. She didn't understand why Levi had been so disrespectful to her, but if she was grateful for any part of it, it was a chance to connect with Nessa on a new level of friendship. She didn't know if Nessa would truly physically harm Levi and Adelaide didn't really need her to, the sentiment was there and Adelaide would be eternally grateful for the support, regardless.

Nessa didn't leave Adelaide's room until late into the evening when it had already grown quite dark outside. They had gotten a quick dinner in the cafeteria and Nessa walked back with Adelaide before departing for her own dorm. Adelaide was happy to have someone to take her mind off of the Levi situation for the rest of the day, but after a rollercoaster of emotions, she longed for a long night of rest to which she had no issues finding the second her head hit her pillow.

-

Adelaide walked alone after art the following Monday. She had stayed after class a bit longer than everyone else because she wanted to finish up her painting, so she told Ryan to go ahead and she'd catch up with the rest of the group in the cafeteria. Plus, Adelaide needed this time alone to prepare herself for the possibility of seeing Levi again. He may not have shown up often, but these were his friends first and Adelaide didn't expect him to abandon them just because of her.

Because of this, Adelaide took her sweet time, reflecting on her thoughts throughout her walk.

She only began to speed up when she caught sight of Wyatt. He was walking with his hands stuffed in his pockets and head down watching his feet. He hadn't noticed Adelaide so she had to slightly jog to catch up to him.

"Wyatt..." She greeted, shooting him a smile as she matched his pace.

"Oh, hey Adelaide." He smiled back at her briefly before returning his gaze to his feet.

"I'm sorry for running off like that on Saturday. It was rude and not my intention to leave you hanging. I-I guess I just wasn't thinking." She glanced at him nervously, wringing her hands together as she hoped he accepted her apology.

"No worries, Adelaide. I understand." Wyatt laughed it off, giving her a more genuine smile. "Was a bit rude, though, so maybe you'll have to make it up to me." He sent her a teasing wink and bumped her shoulder with his own.

"Noted." Adelaide laughed before continuing, "Would having lunch with me be a good start?" She asked as they approached the cafeteria.

"Hmmm. I think I'll have to take you up on that. Lead the way." Wyatt held open the door for Adelaide and gestured for her to enter with his hand.

Adelaide took her usual seat near the end of the table while introducing Wyatt to the rest of the group. Of course Ryan already knew Wyatt because there isn't a single person that Ryan doesn't seem to already know.

Levi's chair sat empty and Adelaide was tempted to let Wyatt sit in it, but she feared Levi's reaction if he did show up. Nessa seemed to be having the same trail of thought as she got up to drag over a chair from an empty table next to them and offered it to Wyatt. The extra chair made things a lot more squishy on Adelaide's side of the table, but nobody seemed to mind as everyone got into the rhythm of conversation.

In no time at all, Ryan and Nico began bickering. Todays topic being the existence of Big Foot, all stemming from Ryan's claim of having seen one on a camping trip a couple years before. Wyatt must've felt right at home because he quickly wedged his way into the argument.

Adelaide shrugged it off, now being used to the random rants that the boys found themselves in. Molly, though, was unusually interested. Nessa seemed to pick up on this too as she shot Molly a teasing look.

Adelaide's eyes widened as the suggestion dawned on her. Adelaide whipped her head around to look at Molly, shifting her eyes back and forth between her and Wyatt. Molly's blush gave her away and caused Nessa to stifle back her giggles.

"Everyone knows big foot prefers swampier areas, dumbass. Thats why its tracks are always found near rivers." Wyatt leaned back in his chair, throwing his arm over the top of Adelaide's while sporting a smug look.

"Listen here, dipshit, I know what the fuck I saw. Just cause I wasn't waist deep in a swamp doesn't mean it wasn't there. What makes you such an expert, huh?" Ryan narrowed his eyes, leaning over the table with his fist clenching a spork.

"I've seen some shit." Wyatt shrugged nonchalantly.

"You've seen some shit?" Ryan grit out questioningly.

Wyatt only hummed and nodded his head in response.

"What the fuck does that even mean?!" Ryan threw his hands up in the air in frustration and almost sent his spork flying through the cafeteria.

"A magician never reveals his secrets." Wyatt couldn't hold back his laughter any longer, bursting out in a fit that had the rest of them joining in.

Winding down slowly, Wyatt leaned his head against the side of Adelaide's. Adelaide wasn't sure what to do, not wanting Molly to get the wrong impression, but Adelaide wasn't used to these kinds of situations. She wasn't even sure if this was Wyatt trying to flirt with her or not. All these thoughts came to an abrupt hold, though, when a new voice spoke.

"What the fuck do you think you're doing?" Levi all but spit out, roughly pulling out his chair and taking a seat.
