Aunisty Johnson -19

It had  been a week since I last seen or heard from Sekhani, he had never responded back to my text either. I wasn't really trippin tho since I had been busy booking new clients and doing hair, but sometimes when I was alone my mind wandered to him. The image of his low red eyes looking up at me from between my legs had imprinted themselves into my brain, not letting me forget them.

Right now I had a new client coming over that I had never booked before coming to get frontal installed. Doing hair was so fun to me. I liked helping people become their inner baddie. As I was finishing up bleaching the frontal I heard a knock sound at the door, making me put it down and go over to it. I opened the door to see a pretty brown skin girl standing there with a bonnet on her head holding a Starbucks cup.

"Hi you must be Aja" I said, opening the door wider so that she could step through. "Hi yes" was all she responded. I told her to follow me as I walked into the living room where I had all my hair equipment set up. Mina wasn't here so I wouldn't have to worry about her loud ass scaring off my client, she had been with Kim and JoJo. The three of them had been getting really close with one another. "You can just sit here, I'm almost done bleaching your wig for you." I said walking back into the kitchen to finish up.

When I came back she was sitting comfortably in the chair texting on her phone, but when I walked up closer she quickly turned it off giving me her full attention. "Ok so you wanted a high ponytail for the style, right?" I asked starting to grab my comb and parting her hair so I could begin to braid it down. "Yea the like barbie ponytail with the hair falling in curls please" she responded smiling brightly at me.

I started doing her hair putting on her wig cap when I heard the front door being opened. I looked back seeing Mina, Kim,and JoJo  walking in with food in their hands. A loud choke sounded from JoJo making everyone in the room look at him with raised eyebrows. "My bad y'all my smoothie had got stuck" he said before shaking his head and coming to sit on the couch.  I laughed cuz it's always something with him, his ass can never be serious.

My client looked up looking around the room till her eyes landed on JoJo pausing for a quick second before she opened her mouth to say something. "Omg JoJo what are you doing here?" she asked, putting on a fake smile making JoJo roll his eyes laying his head back on the couch. Mina and Kim made eye contact with each other before they both mugged JoJo who was looking at the tv screen as if he was really interested in buying a fishers package.

"What yo name is girly?" Mina asked, looking over at the girl in my seat whose hair I was doing.  Aja turned her focus from JoJo and put it on my two best friends looking between them before landing on Mina and holding eye contact. "My name is Aja" she said going back on her phone texting, JoJo still hadn't answered her question and it was getting pretty clear he wasn't planning on doing so anytime soon.

The room had gotten really quiet from the lack of conversation making it a really awkward atmosphere. Breaking the silence I asked whether they had brought me food back or not, putting the lace on her head. "Yeah it's in the microwave" Kim responded, still not taking her eyes offa Aja. I wanted to hurry up and finish her hair so that she could leave and I could ask about why there was so much tension in the room so I quickly wrapped the band around her head, getting ready to style it.

A loud ringing sound from over on the couch cutting through the silence of the room. JoJo quickly picked it up putting his airpods in before talking to whoever was on the other side of the line. "May I use your restroom" came from my client before I dropped the section I was working on and showed her where to go. As soon as I returned to the room I heard JoJo say he didn't think that was a good idea to whoever was on the phone, but I doubt they were listening because he started to make these angry faces that made him look constipated.

Stifling my laugh I walked into the kitchen seeing what exactly they had brought me back to eat. I heard water running, shortly followed by the sound of footsteps approaching, making me turn to see my client coming back. I was almost done with her hair when I heard three hard knocks making me pause what I was doing. Deciding to ignore it and let someone else in the room get the door I got back to work curling the hair that was hanging out from the ponytail.

Three more hard and aggressive knocks sounded from the door again making me look up to see that none of them had gotten up to get the door.  Apologizing to my client I went around the corner heading for the front door. As soon as I opened it, I looked up seeing that it was no one but Sekhani standing there. I was getting ready to walk away when I felt him grab my waist pulling me in for a kiss. When his tongue licked my lips they opened giving him more access before I felt his hot tongue touch my own. I could taste the mix of  weed and mouthwash from his breath, making me think back to the last time we had seen each other.

Pulling back from the kiss, he grabbed my waist pulling me into a hug. "I missed you ma" he whispered in my ear before turning me around and walking hand and hand with me into the living room. To my right I heard a loud gasp and then a loud baby was screamed into the air. Turning I saw it came from no one other than Aja before she got up and hugged Sekhani.

Looking around the room making eye contact with Yasmina and Kimberly we all looked at each other shocked.
