Soon the crisp and quite night air was filled with sounds of everyone in the village calling out the name of the youngest male Sully. Terror and panic clouded the expressions of many as we prepared our Ilu's to go and search for him but when we began to start to ride away, the warriors of the Metkayina clan came riding back with the boy in question.

"The boy has returned" the village folk announced gratefully as we all pushed forwards to see Lo'ak as he climbed onto the wooden decking where we were all stood. Quickly Jake ran up to him, stopping Lo'ak from coming any further, instantly checking his body for any major injuries.

"He's fine, just a few scratches" Jake states, letting out a relieved sigh. I grabbed Neteyam's hand slightly, squeezing it to reassure both him and myself that Lo'ak was okay. "I pray I have the strength not to pluck the eyeballs out of my youngest son" Neytiri sneered as she faked to poke his eyes out. Her demeanour was scary and angry but you could tell she was just a deathly scared mother.

"No" The chief spoke out. "My son knows better than to take him outside the reef. The blame is his" he continued as he pressed down on the back of Ao'nung's neck, lowering him into a crouching position in front of Lo'ak and the rest of the Sully's.

And just as we were about to leave, Lo'ak spoke up. "No, this is not Ao'nung's fault" he started to defend the person that could have literally killed him. "Lo'ak what are you doing" I whisper yelled at him as I placed my hand on his arm to stop him from doing this but he only shrugged me off.

"This was my idea, Ao'nung tried to talk me out of it. I'm sorry" he apologised, saving Ao'nung from the wrath of his father only to receive it from his own. I could only shake my as Ronal looked him up and down with a scowl on her face before turning to her husband with a disapproving look.

"Come on" Jake sighed as he pulled Lo'ak alongside him with the rest of the family following. Neteyam let go of my hand with a small groan as we walked away from the large group of people. "What's wrong?" I asked, Lo'ak was safe so I had no idea why he seemed so worked up. "I'm the big brother" he muttered slightly but before i could respond i was cut off by Jake.

"You brought disappointment to this family" Jake said which made my heart sink instantly at his words as I watched Lo'ak's face fall. "I'm sorry sir" Lo'ak responded, not showing how torn up he was at Jakes words but it didn't take a genius to figure it out. His father then dismissed him and he walked off, his shoulders slumped and his face broken.

Before Lo'ak could fully disappear Neytiri turned towards Neteyam. "Where were you?" She asked, disappointment lacing her tone. "Yeah what happened to keep an eye on your brother" Jake said, equally as disappointed and once again my heart broke for another Sully son but I couldn't not stand up for him.

"It's not his fault" I said through furrowed brows at both his parents. "Blame me if you want to blame someone but it was not Neteyams fault" I continued, looking between both disapproving people. "I am almost just as old as Neteyam, we were both together when we saw Lo'ak leave with Ao'nung, all happy and smiling might I add" I was furious but I couldn't let my rage show through my words because that would not have made the situation any better.

"It's different" Jake responded with a hard stare. "How is it any different?" I asked, baffled at what he meant. "He's his brother" Jake continued, only making things worse. "So this is either because I'm a woman or because I'm not real family" my words were final as I began to walk away from them despite their responses.

I was upset. I was upset because of what Jake had said to Lo'ak, upset that it was all apparently Neteyam's fault but most of all I was upset with myself, I should have been keeping a closer eye on Lo'ak; I started that fight so it was my fault that this happened to both of them.

I scuffed my feet as I walked, not stopping until my feet touched the soft sand. I needed a break from everything and where better to do that than at the beach with my toes dipped in the water. Sitting on the sand I splashed my feet around in the water, channeling a small part of rage that was inside me until someone came to sit next to me.

"So..." a familiar voice that belonged to Lo'ak sounded through the air. "So.." I responded back with the same thing. "Thanks for trying to stick up for me and Neteyam" he said quietly as he wiggled his toes in the water. "Trying and failing..." my voice trailed out as I wrapped my arms around my knees, resting my head above them.

"It's not a failure in my eyes" he smiled slightly as the words left his mouth. "No one ever stands up for me and my brother but you did that" he said gratefully as he bumped his shoulder with mine. "At least you're not the disappointment" he sighed, playing with the sand to the side of him.

"Don't listen to what your dad says, you are not the disappointment" I responded, looking at his deflated expression. "I am, I'm useless" he continued on, sulking at his words. "Are you kidding me? There is nothing useless about you Lo'ak and you have got to understand that you are perfect" I stated which caused the corners of his mouth to pick up slightly.

"I know that Tsireya would agree with me" I smirked, this time I was the one to nudge him as his cheeks started to turn visibly red under the nights sky. "What do you know about Tsireya" he laughed, playing with the sand nervously. "I know she feels the same way you feel about her" I smiled, wiggling my eyebrows at him.

"Ain't no way" He laughed, still fidgeting with anything that he could. "Mhm hm" I hummed, nodding my head in in a knowing response. "Has she said anything about me?" He asked, casting his sight back up to me. "That she really likes you" I laugh as his red face deepens. "Shut up" he groaned as i laughed harder at his reaction.

"What about you and my brother then huh?" He asked as I wouldn't stop laughing and instantly his words shut me up as I looked around sheepishly. "Exactly" he stated, nodding his head how I did earlier. "We're just... friends" I tried to sound convincing as I said it but truly failed.

"Yeah right, we all see how you look at each other" he smirked, his words taking me by surprise. "Why does everyone keep saying that!" I groaned loudly at the thought of everyone knowing. "So you like him?" He asked, all jokes aside and I felt it inappropriate to lie to him so I nodded my head slowly.

"Fucking knew it" he laughed deeply at my response. "You like him, you really really like him" he joked around, poking my side with his finger. "Keep your voice down" I whisper yelled as I looked around to see if anyone was about, luckily they weren't. "Oh so this is top secret information?" He asked sarcastically. "If that will make you stop talking about it and keep your mouth shut then yes, top secret" I sighed, willing to do anything from letting his parents know.

"If you both like each other so much, why keep it a secret?" He asks genuinely, all laughing aside. "Because I don't know how your parents would react" I sighed slightly at the thought of them freaking out. "What? Why?" He asked, confusion clouding his face.

"What am I meant to say. Oh hey Jake and Neytiri, I know both of you raised me when I was abandoned as a baby, bringing me up alongside your biological children as if we were a family. I'm so grateful for all that you have done, oh yeah and I'm in love with your son!" I exclaimed, playing out the whole situation in my head.

"It's not really something that you can just be open with and say" I sighed again, it was impossible to figure out how me and Netayam were going to move on from this point. I looked over to Lo'ak who still hadn't said anything, his expression one of slight shock. "What" I asked, panic coursing through my body at the thought of what he was going to say.

"You love him!" He stated and at first I was confused but after a second I realised what I had said. I covered my mouth instantly, just wishing I had shut up. Oh my Eywa what did I just confess.
