One year later

It had been a year since we have been hiding in the hallelujah mountains and only today we have planned an ambush.

I changed into my riding clothes, a leather head wrap sat on my forehead and leather bindings around my wrist along with war paint smeared on my face. I grabbed my bow and arrow and ran over to where all the warriors were climbing onto their Ikrans. As I was about to mount LΓΌjan a hand pulled me back.

"What do you think you're doing" Jake yelled at me as he put me down on the floor, preventing me from getting on LΓΌjan. "I'm fighting" I stated, unwilling to not go and fight for my home. "No you're not" he said flatly refusing to allow me. "Yes. I am a warri-" you are not a warrior" he cut me off mid sentence. "Now you stay here and look after these people and that is final" he finished. "But-"No buts" he cut me off again not giving me chance to explain.

I let him have that end of the argument and I watched as he and the others fly off on their Ikran. He's a idiot if he thinks I'm going to stay here whilst my Na'vi is under attack. I waited until they were all out of sight before I mounted LΓΌjan once more and left the mountain.

I knew what their plan was, I knew the logistics of everything. I was as good of a warrior as any. I could hear the battle cries of the Na'vi as I soared through the sky, watching as the ground team destroyed the train tracks and the train went flying. After then I joined the fight, shooting arrows at on coming helicopters and vehicles.

I weaved in and out of flying bullets, trusting myself and LΓΌjan to get through this. One by one my arrows pierced the enemy, sending their helicopters plummeting to the ground. Soon enough there was another helicopter shooting wildly at my people and one person in particular, Jake.

I lead LΓΌjan near the helicopter and told her my plan, not wasting another second, I jumped from her. Time slowed as the air craft kept shooting its bullets getting closer and closer to hitting Jake, I brought my bow up, hearing my breath leave my mouth as I shot through the windscreen, impaling the person straight through the chest before the vehicle went plummeting down with me close behind it.

I was falling quickly through the sky and I knew it was time. I called LΓΌjan and just like I had told her, she came to me and caught my body before I could hit the ground. Jakes thankfully alive voice came through the com "Fall back" he screamed as another aircraft came around the mountain shooting enormous unusual bullets at us.

I dodged its fire but it kept on shooting at the ground. I followed it's fire to see two familiar boys on the ground holding guns. Before i could act to reach them the air craft shot at them and I watched as their body's went flying. "No" I screamed as i willed LΓΌjan to go to them, dodging the fire as I went.

When I got to the ground I could see Jake with Lo'ak and then run over to a lifeless looking body. "Neteyam" I yelled as i landed besides him and Jake. "What are you doing here as well" Jake screamed at me and Neteyam but I was just glad that he was alive. "Let me take him back" I stated as I reached out my hand for Neteyam.

His grip was weak but with a slight push from Jake he was on my Ikran and we were going to safety. "Neteyam" I whispered as I held onto his body in front of me, his body dirty from the explosion. "What are you doing here?" He asked me in confusion. "Come on Neteyam I've been training myself my whole life for this" I laughed slightly. Horns were sounding as we made our war back to the mountain we were living in.

I quickly hopped off my Ikran along with Neteyam who had recovered from the shock of the explosion. The second we were off LΓΌjan Jake came over to us yelling but at that point he was mainly yelling at Neteyam. "You're supposed to be spotters, reporting in from a distance" he yelled at his two sons.

"I'm sorry, I take full responsibility" Neteyam says. "That's right because you're the older brother, you've got to act like it" he continued on yelling and my heart yearned to comfort Neteyam. He didn't stop shouting until Neytiri pointed out that he was bleeding and took him off to get some care.

I had stayed close to my Ikran whilst he had been talking to his sons, I would have stood up for Neteyam but it wasn't anyone's place, if it wasn't anyone else shouting at him like that I would have but it was Jake. I remained still as he spoke to Lo'ak, he reprimanded him by grounding him and taking away his flying privileges. Then once he dismissed Lo'ak he turned to me.

"What an earth do you think you were doing" his voice was sharp and angry as he took a step towards me. "You could have gotten killed and I specifically gave you a direct order to stay here and you disobeyed me" he continued to yell, his anger evident. "Don't you ever disobey me again, I am trying to protect you" he words were laced with malice but softened at the end. He was only trying to do what was right to protect us but I wouldn't have it.

"You say you are trying to protect me but I was the one that protected you today" I raised my voice slightly to answer back. "If you go out there and look at how many of my arrows are buried in the sky people's chest you will see how much of a good warrior I am. You know that air craft that almost killed you, I shot that down, me and that it because I am a warrior" I yelled, getting rightfully angry about it.

"Yeah and who taught you to fight?" He asked, his words not loud and aggressive anymore. "I did" I replied sharply. "I want to fight for my people and my home land. I came out of there unscathed and with half a dozen kills. I can protect your family and myself" I finished my point but he didn't say anything.

Neytiri walked over to us and placed a hand on Jakes shoulder. "I watched her take down that helicopter MaJake" she says to him pleading my case. "Thank you for that but I just don't want to see you get hurt" he said, slightly defeated. "And I don't want you or Neytiri to get hurt but if we don't fight who will" i sigh slightly expecting a rise from Jake again but instead he walks towards me and wraps his arms around me.

"You may not believe it but you are family Arelliya" he says softly and the corners of my lips pick up slightly. "Thanks for keeping me alive" he laughs slightly and so do I. I could still feel he was upset but I understand he's just a father who doesn't want to lose his sons or people he cares about. After petting LΓΌjan once more I walk off towards the medical area to find Neteyam.

I didn't get far before a voice stopped me on the way to find Neteyam. I turned around to see Lo'ak standing behind me looking solemn. "Hey Lo'ak are you okay?" I asked as I made my way towards him. "Uh I don't know" he responded looking down at the floor. "Hey, hey it's okay, look let's go over here" I said to him, holding his arm and walking over to a more secluded part of the mountain cave system.

"What's wrong?" I asked, it was rare that Lo'ak was upset, or openly not okay around people. "Why do I always get people in trouble" he says quietly, looking down at his hands. "I'm such an outcast in the clan and my family" he continues, it seems as if this has been playing on his mind for a long time. I stood up quickly from where I was crouched down and enclosed him in a hug.

"Listen you are not an outcast okay, you are perfect, you're family loves you no matter what and everyone makes mistakes, that's how we learn okay. I bet your dad has made so many mistakes that you couldn't even count it on your hands" I try to comfort the boy who is like a little brother to me. He smiles slightly at what I say. "And hey if anyone is an outcast here it's me, have you seen my skin" I laugh and this time so does he.

"There's nothing wrong with your skin, it's different and it makes you unique" he says to me with a smile on his face. "Now, take what you just said it to me and refer it to yourself okay" i said sweetly. He kind of looks shocked for a second, that if he doesn't believe there is anything wrong with my skin there isn't anything wrong with his fingers.

"Thank you Arelliya" he says, jumping up from his position with a big smile on his face before running off towards Kiri and Spider. I smiled to myself slightly before getting up and making my way to fine Neteyam.
